Andrew may have stolen the show a bit but Tobey did not. Some of you just see what you want to see but Tobey was either rusty or phoned it in. He wasn't bad at all but definitely in this movie the distant third Spiderman. Hell he didn't even have one line with Goblin. His one line with Octopus was pretty nice though

I thought Electro was done well or at least better than he originally was. It was just Jamie Fox but it worked for a secondary villain

No way home: delivered the ultimate spiderman movie, one even people who arent big spidey guys will enjoy

Shang chi: best fight sequence (bus scene) and best non Thanos MCU villain

Falcon: underrated show with strong leads and even stronger supporting cast (the males at least, they botched the girls in this show)

Wandavision: the most unique MCU entry with some of the best mystery. Great leads

Eternals: another unique MCU property. Immensly undereated, critics definitely gave this an unfair treatment. Not all eternals were equal but the movie was beautiful and it made Celestials truly terrifying

Black Widow: The fun family save this movie from the terrible villains. Not sure if good or bad but Yelena stole the show from Natasha

Hawkeye: the 2 Hawkeyes were great, especially their scenes together. Everyone else was hit or miss, more likely to be miss

Loki: it was unique...and exists. It didn't land with me honestly, the multiverse explanation was crappy and already seems to contradict itself. Ended with a monologue by a character introduced that episode. Felt like a sacrifice show in that it existed just to explain the multiverse

What if: meh

Thanos, but Green Goblin is a close second. Willem Dafoe is so above everyone else and it shows.

Green Goblin (only from his MCU appearance) is not better than killmonger or wenwu. He only had 4 scenes

Anyways I got

1. Thanos
2. 2014 variant Thanos (not cheating, rules of Loki say its different character
3. Wenwu
4. Killmonger
5. Hela

It really strikes me how much this movie owes to the amazing spider man and raimi films.

All the heroes and villains were developed there so this film didn't need to waste time on that at all. If this was just a big standard spider man story like the director originally pitched, it wouldn't be as acclaimed.

Goblin worked well here. Dr Octopus did too I guess but wanted to see more of him being evil. Electro got the revamp he needed here, so that is fully on Watts. Lizard was nothing character, even the most distant of the Thanos henchmen had more development and better action. I still don't know why Sandman fought the spidermen and the de-sandinizer was complete bs, Peter Parkers built a device that turns a sand guy into a normal human in 2 hours (then again Tony Stark developed time travel in a night so whatever)

As for action as others stated, having a night time cgi battle is always a fail. Especially when one villain is made of sand and the other is a dark green lizard.

The Dr Strange vs Spiderman fight was perfect, beautiful and everything. It showed both of their contrasting personalities with Peter's compassion and Strange's calculated approach. It showed the multiple things Strange could do (mirror dimension, astral form, cape, whip thing, use of portals) and also showcased what Spidey could do (swinging, spidey sense) and what Parker can do (mathematics, outsmart a genius) while Peter delivered the goofy humor he is known for. This was an underrated sequence that does not get enough love

I loved it. I give it a 9/10. I have it as my 6th favorite MCU movie. What held it back:

-of all of the crossover movies, this is the least watchable without having watched a boat load of films. At least all of the Avengers (maybe not endgame), the villains have a full arc. Without watching a bunch of Spiderman movies, the majority of the villains are a bunch of dudes from other universes (I liked Goblin and Electro most).
-The reason for why the conflict exists is weaker than most. Strange and Spiderman could have clarified some details earlier
-For me personally, night time CGI fights are a no go. This one also involved a monster that is really dark (Lizard) and a guy made of sand

It is nitpicky but this is why I have 5 other titles above it. Also I am not as high on Spiderman as some others in here

It kind of annoys me that he was talking about how he wanted to be Spider-Man forever. Now he's complaining that he's burnt out and if he's Spider-Man after 30 years old still he went wrong somewhere in his life right after it was confirmed he's gonna be Spider-Man for a lot longer now. This is why replacing actors shouldn't ever be an issue.

Replacing actors leads to the issue that people latch on to who they watched growing up and think every other version is blasphemy. As can be seen by spiderman
