Agreed. Im kinda tempted to get into breeding but I do feel it runs counter to the concept of the individual Pokmon being your buddies, your partners, that you nickname and hang out with. Hell, this is still present in camping, them following you around in Lets Go, and friendship ratings. IV/EVs and breeding lean a bit too much into the undercurrent of dogfighting for my childhoods tastes lol

I was wrong to word it as suicide for simplicitys sake. Thats how I always viewed it, given his particular circumstances of increasing reclusiveness and depression until his death, but point taken.

However, it is documented that the incident drove him into a dark place where his friends started worrying about him, he got into dark shit, journaled about it, and then ultimately died, and she was yelled out of his funeral by his friends and family.

So, I stand by the point. Sure, people can do auto-erotic asphyxiation for pure giggles, and people can jump out of planes because theyre extreme thrillseekers. In this particular case, the guy spiraled into a severe depression and wound up dead.

I can go dig up the long articles on the guys history and events leading to his death, having been a big fan of his for 15 years, but I figured the bullet points were sufficient.
