Now we're in a weird spot since in her daze she drove the car home after hitting a few of those sweeping turn signs, and I didn't know what had happened until this morning. Now she's trying to get a hold of insurance for guidance. I'm thinking she might have to get a police report, but I'd rather she get hold of insurance first.

When it relates to your own child, yes you should have a very large say in it. Some of you guys really hate parents and I find that saddening more than anything.

I didn't even lose the debate. I just got tired of people missing the point.

Never said it did. But saying "I think this version of the work is inappropriate for my child" is not claiming to be an expert, it's making a decision based on your values and informing the school about what you want your child exposed to (and when), which is absolutely the right of a parent to choose.

If a parent cares enough to speak up about their child's education, I'd say that's a good sign. It means they're paying attention to what their kids are doing, which is more than you can say for many parents.
