If it were a different movie studio doing their own version of The Little Mermaid and they cast Halle Bailey, nobody would have had an issue, as its not Disneys The Little Mermaid. Flash Thompson doesnt look anything like he should in the new Spider-Man movies either. Marvel nailed it with the Avengers. You cant get an actor closer to comic book Tony Stark than Robert Downey Jr. but then they screwed up the supporting cast of characters from the Spider-Man comics. --- "Well, it's not a bad game. Its too ingrained in pop culture to be any different. Yes, Disney created their own timeless character designs when adapting folklore and traditional stories to be produced by Disney. Disneys Alice in Wonderland should always resemble Disneys Alice in Wonderland. Someone else who isnt Disney is free to adapt the original book a different way. I dont believe Alice was called out as specifically being white in the original book, so another producer could make Alice black if they wanted to.
