I think mind over matter/body like you said is why Psychic is strong against Poison and Fighting. I used to think this, too, until I realized Dark = evil, not actual darkness. Which also kind of changes the meaning of the other two. Bugs are a mindless, swarming hive-mind that overwhelm and break the concentration of Psychics. --- Add me on Switch! | Awakened_Link 01/29/20 8:06:41 AM #1 | For the most part, Pokemon type strengths and weaknesses make sense, and can be deduced reasonably and logically. Fire burns grass, grass absorbs water, water douses fire, etc. But some I don't really understand. Like Psychic > Poison. Is that like a mind-over-matter thing? Like willing yourself to not become ill? Speaking of Psychics, I'm not sure if I quite understand its weaknesses to Ghost or Dark-types. I assume it's something to do with mind games and trickery for Dark, but Ghost I'm not too sure. Other ones I don't get are Rock's weaknesses to Ground and Steel-types, or Steel being super-effective against Ice-types. Can't really think of anything to justify or explain those. inb4 "type balancing", yada yada. | Awakened_Link 01/16/20 10:44:58 PM #37 | I know this doesn't really hold ground for argument anymore, but traditionally, Smash employs the most traditional and iconic characters to represent their respective series as a whole. Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf are pretty much it for the LoZ franchise. They're the most recurring characters and best represent the series. Most other "major" Zelda characters are one-shot players, with maybe a second appearance or mention, if they're lucky. Based on that rule, the most deserving candidate of a spot in Smash would be Vaati. Or perhaps Impa with Sheik's moveset. --- Add me on Switch!
