Like I said, I'm more than happy to send Andel on if people think that's what i should do. But only because I'm involved in the pick, and I run the league -- if this were any other game (should it happen in the next game, haven't looked at the picks yet) then I'd advance them by the rules listed in the official tiebreaker rules.

I mean if people think I should send Andel on based on the quick explanation, I'm more than happy to oblige. But for future reference (for this season at least--rules can be under consideration for next season) points are above locks.

Does the "and by how much" end up factoring into the picks? I didn't see it listed in the quick explanation for tiebreakers, but it is in the full rules, so I just wanted to check on that.

Yes, it's fully explained in the official tiebreaker rules:

-Tiebreaker 1: By how much. Whoever is closer (over or under) advances. (EX: User A picks Jets by 3, User B picks Jets by 7. If Jets win by 4 or less, User A wins. If the Jets win by 6 or more, User B wins. If the Jets win by 5, then it moves to the next tiebreaker)

This tiebreaker supersedes a lock (because being able to pick the amount is a bigger deal than confidence)

No.

Scenario 3: Both users pick the wrong team:

-Tiebreaker 1: The spread. Whoever picks the lowest spread that STILL WINS, advances. Example: If User A picks Jets +3.5, and User B picks Jets +7.5; if the Jets lose by 3 or less, User A advances. If the Jets lose by 4, 5, 6, or 7 then User B advances. If the Jets lose by 8 or more, it moves on to the next tiebreaker.
--Tiebreaker 2: If one player locks their team, and the other does not, then the player who did NOT lock their team advances. If both or neither player locked, then it will move on to the next tiebreaker

A Lock breaks the point tiebreaker. In favor if it's the right team, and against if it's the wrong team (Much like in the regular season where you lose 10 points for a wrong lock)

Clarification: How will the following week work? Will the 4 bye players get to choose the game they wish to have?

Games are chosen based on advantage by record.

For example, this week:

Silvstedt vs theawesomestevr:
Chiefs/Titans: 4
Bills/Jaguars: -3
Rams/Falcons: 1
Saints/Panthers: -1

terpaholic vs Camden:
Chiefs/Titans: -1
Bills/Jaguars: -1
Rams/Falcons: 0
Saints/Panthers: -3

Me vs Andel:
Chiefs/Titans: 1
Bills/Jaguars: 1
Rams/Falcons: -3
Saints/Panthers: 1

Stripperiffic vs Buffy_Summers:
Chiefs/Titans: -1
Bills/Jaguars: -3
Rams/Falcons: 1
Saints/Panthers: 0

From there, the top seed gets advantage first. Meaning Silvstedt vs theawesomestevr gets Chiefs/Titans.

The only Bills/Jaguars advantage goes to Andel, so me and Andel get that one.

Terpaholic vs Camden only has neutral in Rams/Falcons so they get that one over Saints/Panthers, leaving Stripperiffic and Buffy_Summers with Saints/Panthers (which is also neutral)

Note: I did a retally of everyone's results. So some of your numbers may be off from last week's. If you feel I have made an error, please tell me, and I'll work to correct it.

Tiebreaker rules:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vS654SUsTu0k_MEItWT5TNh53FhUUT9VOdYqd3QwqDjEdjfhi2YpdHXi_LuA7o2fvqVroFPSceaOPt3/pub

2. Do you LOCK your pick in?
3. Pick a Spread that will make your team win in the event you both pick the wrong team (Ex: Jets +3.5)
4. How many points will be scored in the game
5. How many passing yards will be thrown in the game?

Quick explanation:

-If both users pick different teams, the one who picks the right team advances.
-If both users pick the same team and are right -- whoever LOCKED will advance. If both or neither locked, then the tiebreaker will be decided by points scored in the game
-If there's still a tie after total points scored, it'll be determined by how many passing yards are thrown
-If there's still a tie after that, the higher seed automatically advances

-If both users pick the same team, and are wrong -- whoever did NOT lock will advance. If both or neither locked, then the tiebreaker will be decided by whoever picked the lowest spread that still wins. (Ex: If the Jets lose by 3, and you pick Jets +3.5, and your opponent picks Jets +4.5 you advance. If you pick Jets +2.5 then your opponent advances)
-If the tie isn't broken after that, tiebreakers advance normally.

Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions
Rodgerless Packers vs the Lions at home? Yeah, I know where I'm going with this one.

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings LOCK
Vikings should be able to handle the bears, and get their first round bye.

Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts
Texans have looked awful lately. Colts haven't been much better, but they should be able to pull this one off.

Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers LOCK
0-16!

New York Jets @ New England Patriots LOCK
The Patriots aren't about to let up when the Top seed is at stake.

Washington Redskins @ New York Giants
Giants finish the miserable season with another loss.

Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles
Neither team has anything to really play for, but I think the Eagles will be hungry for another win.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans
Jacksonville's defense should rebound after their awful showing in San Francisco. Potentially knocking the Titans out of the playoffs.

Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins
Bills will probably JUST miss the playoffs. But they're a team with a bright future. Miami is too... once they get a few things settled.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
Ravens seek a playoff spot, and face off against the Bengals in Marvin Lewis's last game.

Oakland Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers
Raiders look lost. Carr isn't what he used to be. And the Chargers still look like they're fighting.

Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks should be able to handle Blaine Gabbert in their home stadium.

San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams
Rams are resting their starters. Jimmy G is going to be playing hard to prove he's worth it.

Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons
Falcons want that playoff spot so bad. Their last matchup went the Panthers way, but that was in Carolina.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos
Broncos look done for the season.

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Buccaneers still have some way to go. The Saints... have arrived at the playoffs.

why does an 18 y/o need to be adopted?

There's a lot of reasons. It can be to formalize the relationship between step-parent and step-kid. Allows the step-child some way in taking care of an adult with diminished capacity to make decisions of their own. Allows the parent to leave assets to the adopted kid more easily.

Los Angeles Chargers @ New York Jets
Unfortunately the Chargers could still make it in
And the Jets had more wins than anyone expected them to win

Jacksonville Jaguars @ San Francisco 49ers LOCK
And the Jaguars, who played bad out west
Would still stand over the AFC South, and get to put their defense to the test

Seattle Seahawks @ Dallas Cowboys
But the Seahawks were still inching closer to being out
A loss to the cowboys, would surely make them all pout

New York Giants @ Arizona Cardinals
And the Giants sucked, and the Cardinals were relying on Blaine
Oh how the Browns fans knew their pain!

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Houston Texans LOCK
Of course the Steelers would roll on winning game after game
And the Texans could look forward to next year with Deshaun Watson, all the same

They rode with their load, hoping to get rid of the cheer!
For all the teams that wouldn't make the playoffs this year!
"Boo to the Who!" they said with the end of the year upcoming
"They're finding out now that no playoffs are coming!"
"They're just waking up! I know just what they'll do!"
"Their mouths will hang open a minute or two,
Then the who's down in whoville will be crying boohoo!"
"That's a noise," grinned the Browns fans, "That I simply must hear."
So they paused, and put their hands to their hear
And they did hear a sound over the rising snow
It started in low, then it started to grow
But the sound wasn't sad! Why this sound sounded merry!
It couldn't be so! But it was Merry! Very!
They stared down at whoville, watching with their eyes!
Then they shook! What they saw was a shocking surprise!
Every who down in whoville, the tall and the small
Was singing! Without any playoffs at all!
He hadn't stopped the playoffs from coming! They came!
Somehow or another, they came just the same!
And the Browns with thier feet ice ocld in the snow
Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?"
"The Raiders won't make it, and neither will the bills!
"Without the playoffs, how are the fans getting their thrills?"
And they puzzled three hours, till their puzzlers were sore
Then the Browns fans thought of something they hadn't before
"Maybe football<' they thought "Isn't just about the score."
"Maybe Football...perhaps...means a little bit more!"
And then what happened then? Well in Whoville they say
That the Browns fans samll hearts grew three szes that day!
And the minute their heart didn't feel quite so tight
They whizzed through the streets, and shouted all night

Oakland Raiders @ Philadelphia Eagles
On Christmast day, even as the Eagles lost
Their fans came out to support them, no matter the cost
And the Browns fans realized something with glee!
They might not win any games this year, but next year they might win three!

Every who down in whoville liked football a lot
But the Browns fans, who lived north of whoville, did not
The Browns fans hated Football! The whole Football season!
Now, please don't ask why. Everyone knows the reason
It could be they would soon be 0 and 16
A team so bad, had never been seen
But I think the most likely reason of all
Was how their team played every fall
Whatever the reason, their record or play
They were all eagerly awaiting Christmas day
They stood there on Christmas eve, hating the Who's
Hoping they'd beat the Bears, but figuring they'd lose
Staring down from their cave with a frown on their face
KNowing they were all watching teams still in the playoff race.

Indianapolis Colts @ Baltimore Ravens
"Even the Colts have won three games this year," they said all sporty
"We haven't even won that many in the last forty!"

Then they growled, with their fingers strumming
"I must find some way to stop the playoffs from coming."

For tomorrow, he knew, all the who's with their weird names
would be watching their teams playing their games

Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers
Then the who, young and old, would sit down to a feast.
And the Browns fans snarled. "The Packers won't make it this year, at least."

And the more the Browns fans thought of Football in the first of the year
The more they thought "I've got to stop the playoffs, that'll bring me some cheer."
Then they got an idea! An idea so foul!
"I know just what to do!" they said with a growl
"We'll stop some teams from making the post-season.
That'll get them upset, even if the Browns aren't the reason."

Los Angeles Rams @ Tennessee Titans
The Rams would make it, but the Titans might not
"With a loss, they can't win the division" the browns fans thought.

Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots
And Oh Belichick, they thought with glee.
He'd knock the bills back with his cheating, tee-hee!

Cleveland Browns @ Chicago Bears SUPER LOCK
Of course the Browns would probably lose to the bears
And then 0-16 would soon be theirs.

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints
But oh, the Falcons would surely be upset with passion
After losing that last super bowl in such a fashion
They'd soon be crying all night and all day!
Upset their team would no longer get to play!

Detroit Lions @ Cincinnati Bengals
The lions could still make it, and they thought that was fine
"If they can do it after 0-16, maybe the playoffs could eventually be mine!"

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
And the Panthers would make it in with a win
But the Buccaneers were in as bad a state as they've ever been

Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs were up, and then they were down
The Browns fans with their team was that good, they thought with a frown

Denver Broncos @ Washington Redskins
The Broncos and Redskins were already out
"More to commiserate with," the Browns fans did shout

What if I told you that your ancestors likely had slaves at some point?

My mom was way too young when she and my dad had sex, and then got married. It wasn't even that long ago. Doesn't make my dad any less of a creep that people used to marry children. Society used to be pretty fucked up. They didn't let women vote, they considered black people 3/5ths human, and they were generally okay with the slaughter of Native Americans for their land.

More than anything, I generally restrict how much R-rated movies/M-Rated games my kids play, rather than saying no altogether. I mean with my youngest kids -- they definitely aren't ready for an R rated movie. I think PG-13 is too much for them at this point. But with my oldest.. I'll take her to see an R rated movie once in a while as a treat. Like we went to see Logan. She really liked it. (Some of her friends were really jealous) And around Halloween we'll do a horror movie marathon.

I don't think I'd let my kids play GTAV until they're about 15. Something like Fallout though I'd say is okay for 12.

Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions LOCK
Both these teams seem on again, off again. But I'll take the Lions at home.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs LOCK
Are the Chiefs back on track to win the division? Chiefs have been really good against their divisional opponents.

Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants
Even without Carson Wentz, the Eagles should be able to beat the Giants.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Minnesota Vikings
After struggling against the Panthers, the Vikings beat the weakest cat team this year.

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns
Almost never pick the Browns.

Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Redskins
What is this world we're living in where I pick Blaine Gabbert's team.

Green Bay Packers @ Carolina Panthers
Aaron Rodgers is back. I think the Packers still miss the playoffs, however.

New York Jets @ New Orleans Saints LOCK
Saints should take this one with ease.

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
Tyrod Taylor should be back. Which should give the Bills a good shot at taking this one.

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
T.J. Yates meet your worst nightmare.

Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks
I don't think Seattle will lose two in a row here.

Tennessee Titans @ San Francisco 49ers
The Titans have fallen recently, and the 49ers have risen... but I think the Titans still pull it off.

New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers
And the Steelers finally lose one. New England is going to be out for blood after losing to the Dolphins.

Dallas Cowboys @ Oakland Raiders
Cowboys face a small challenge here, and without Zeke still, so I'll go with the Raiders.

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Atlanta's still hoping for a playoff spot. The Buccaneers are just hoping to finish respectably.
