And I was confused, because they had told me that "The Rat" was a guy who nobody even knew the name of, they just called him that because he once snitched on Croatian guy on like his first day to the Foreman, and the foreman (who looked a lot like Billy Joel), said "mind your own fucking business." So when the Croatian guy caught wind of him he started calling him The Rat and then everyone, not just on his line but on ours (which was one line over) called him the Rat. Even Black Widow. Who was a mother of three and made cupcakes every other day at 3am for us. So I was confused as to why this lanky guy (who actually, had hair that reminded me of a rat, but maybe that's just how I remember him) would eat off the ground, but Croatian guy meant the actual rat that lives under the machinery of the line that one of the Annes feeds regularly. Her name wasn't Anne, but we called her and her linemate "The Annes" because their names were Georganne and Leanne. The people on my line were so diverse it was like some kind of TV Show. There was a big Croatian guy who was a huge misogynist, but was also kinda kind at the same time? Anytime you asked him how he was he would just say, "oh, you know, another day in paradise." And he would brag about how him and his wife slept in different rooms. There was a widow who would actually call herself "black widow" because she was black. And a widow. She made some bomb ass desserts, and slept every ten minute break she got. There was a bald guy with a fire tattoo that always talked about sex with his girlfriend, and he had this pretty intense stutter. There was super hot guy, like toned, always wore a tanktop, tanned, my height, and actually a year or so younger than me. I felt really bad for him there, cause he was the kindest dude, and when I left at the end of the summer he said "stay in school and don't end up like me." There was this guy named Moe whose job was a bit far away so he wouldn't talk to us and just watch movies while doing his bit. He sprained his hand and got replaced by someone else named Joe. There were a few more, but I remember one Polish dude, probably the person I was closest with my time there because he worked beside me with the Croatian guy and was only slightly less misogynistic (he once told me he deactivated Netflix in the house because his fianc wasn't cleaning). He recommended me some Polish beer that I can't remember the name of and he sung high praises about how amazing it was, how fucked up it'd get you, how cheap it was for how much alcohol content. When I left and I was living with myself again I was at the beer store and I saw the beer he was talking about, so I got a couple tall boys of them for my next party/outing. It was terrible! I don't know why, I can't remember what it tasted like, (Apherosy hated beer back then and only drank mixed drinks/coolers) so maybe I'd like it today, but I remember being so disappointed. And then suddenly I remembered what the fire-tattoo guy with the stutter told me one day when I had to switch to his side on the line: Polish Guy hypes up everything when it sucks. Dude won't shut up about how good his VW Golf TDI is and talks shit about every other car on the road. But if you really listen, every other story he tells is about how he has to fix it up because he won't admit it runs like shit. Just like his shitty Polish beer." My opinion: auto-battle is like FF12's gambits. You're allowed to make the game as easy as you want it. I like not using autobattle (or too many gambits in FF12) because it's more fun and engaging. I don't hate people who use it and they're not wrong for doing so. It's just whatever, dude. Another thing I think a lot of people might have missed out on while playing the game was not using the minimap. The first time I played the game I used the minimap (and auto-battle! sue me!) and my second playthrough, I turned them off. There's soooo many neat environmental details I missed because I was just focused on the minimap and not on the world around me.
