This is, of course, taking practicality aside.

If I wanted to be pragmatic, I'd say I'd go for a vehicle that costs less than 30k.

Where I live, it's ridiculously easy to get a car; even ones that cost over and above 70K USD. People here change cars every 2 years if not in less time.

My parents had always purchased SUVs. So I'm accustomed to their height and feel. So confortable, spacious...

Where I grew up and still live, SUVs are the kings of the roads; Land Cruiser, Range Rover and Patrol.

For me, personally, I love SUVs. I've grown up in Land Cruisers and I've only driven Prado (s) and my KIA.

My sister and brother have the Dodge Challenger and Toyota 86 and I just dislike it. I feel as though I'm sitting on the floor. XD

Currently, I'm having the KIA Sportage but that's more on practicality rather than preference.

Oh my Internet access has always been strictly monitored. I first had access when I was 16.

At that time, my father had dial up only. He reasoned that Internet access was to be limited to necessary research ONLY. And control must be exercised at all times. That's why connecting to Internet was recorded in a log book; duration, sites accessed and search history. It was to teach self-control and patience. I had other siblings with whom I had to share.

It wasn't the money because I grew up not wanting for anything. My parents- my father in particular- viewed the internet with skepticism (as with most things). He didn't want any of his children to overindulge. IN ANYTHING. Too much of anything is poison, he used to say.

Now that I'm an adult, I understand the restrictions he's placed on us while growing up.

I can see why it was reprimanded. It doesn't look professional. It's fine as a general outfit but not at work. And those boots.......yikes.

had a teacher in 8th grade that dressed like a typical teenage girl and as such she was often grabbed by the arm by other teachers asking her why she wasn't in class as she'd stand in the hall way for a minute or so after the bell just to make sure there where no stragglers late to class before she shut the door. she never got in trouble. she also had a tramp stamp that you could catch a glimpse of if she bent over. she never got in trouble.

yeah the boots are kinda a weird choice for work but all and all I see nothing wrong.

I understand that some places are more lenient than others. But a standard must be upheld. Just because some weren't reprimanded doesn't mean that this leniency IS the standard which we must abide by.

Where I studied, teachers always wore a uniform.

Shirts in general colours (blue and gray), not tight, full-sleeves, buttoned up until just below the collarbone. Skirts (not tight; just simple A-line cut) were down until the calves. Shoes were black; 1-inched heel and fully closed (no high heels, no wedge or peep toe)

Hair and jewelry were also regulated.

It worked really well for us. As a student, it taught us to behave and project ourselves modestly. When we got older, that's when choices on how to present oneself in the world becomes available.

It's fine to express and assert one's individuality and all that. But there are limits; there's a time and place for everything. Teachers and schools are often called a student's second parent and home. How she dresses is a way she presents herself. This can and will influence her students (subconsciously). The image and reputation of the school will also get affected as she is an employee there and represents the establishment.

These little actions may seem harmless to some but there are underlying effects that people often overlook.

if shes wearing that then clearly their is no uniform policy, and I see nothing wrong with the outfit. as said the boots are a weird choice, but still nothing wrong with them.

what you said did make remember a school I had gone to once caused a uproar though as they implemented a uniform on the students but not the teachers.

I never implied that this school had uniforms. If they did, this was a blatant violation which should be addressed anyway.

The point is, people will have different opinions on what is or isn't acceptable and to what degree. As I said initially, that outfit is fine. But just not at school. It's not professional. It's edgy and casual.

She needs to set an example. Not just to the students but to the other staff as well. That's why dress codes exist so that there's a standard that everyone is to follow.

Easily from 1999-2001; specifically around 2001.

I was under a lot of pressure from my parents to pick out a career and a university. My issue was that.....I really didn't know WHAT to do with my life.

I felt lethargic most of the time. I had zero motivation to do or think about anything. So my parents and I were not getting along. They were patient with me but they can only be patient for so long.

Eventually I settled on what I think I do okay in. I gave that a try and just like that, everything worked out. My motivation was back. I was having a lot of fun at the university and made many good friends. My marks were good too.

Anyway, those 10 months were grinding to me. It felt as though they were long, agonising years. I never want to feel that way again.

Alexandra_Trent

Well.....yes and no.

It really depends on what one means "debt".

It also has to do with why loans are taken. Some take loans not because the immediate funds are required but because they want to maintain their current lifestyle and invest their other funds elsewhere. They play with their money, so to speak.

Personally, this is what I do. I do have a small loan and 1 credit card that I pay off completely every billing date. I also invested some of my money in other things so.....it's all about being creative with ones finances.

Credit cards are so convenient because you may get freebies and rewards if you do it right. It can also potentially ruin your life if the interest keeps piling up and you keep doing just minimum payment.

So, all in all, I don't think I'm in debt. The small loan in took I can repay back in 3-4 months time. But I don't really require to as the interest is low and I prefer to have a bit of liquidity.

I do have my own property now but I currently rent as I'm not residing in my native country. Renting in this place is a necessary evil and cannot be avoided unfortunately.
