I can agree that Hollywood should just cast them in regular roles, other then the obvious.

I know of several examples of dwarf actors being cast in regular roles. Just to name a few: Peter Dinklage in Pixels, Meredith Eaton in MacGyver, and Rick Howland in Lost Girl. The latter is significant to me because his role is my favorite character in the show. All three roles could have been played by non dwarfs and it wouldn't have made a difference. I'm all for casting dwarfs in regular roles. Unless a role requires a specific sex, ethnicity, age, or body shape; it makes no sense to limit your options.

Good point. I also want to add that being poor also translates to a weaker health care system, so there's nothing helping them fight cancer. Let's also not forget that poor education is responsible for them believing in witch doctors and pseudoscience. For fuck sake, many Africans believe that raping a virgin girl can cure AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was true. The whiter your skin, the more vulnerable you are to solar radiation. Considering Africa is the least protected continent against it, it's normal that skin cancer is common among pale skinned people living there. This is why some humans have black skin. Melanin provides protection against solar radiation. Albinism is basically a complete lack of melanin, so people affected by it are badly equipped to survive under the sun. The process of tanning is basically your body adapting to increased levels of solar radiation by producing more melanin. People with albinism are incapable of producing melanin.

So are they planning to whitewash the actress? Because the character is supposed to have skin as white as snow, hence the name. This isn't the same as casting a black actress to portray Ariel, since the character doesn't have to be of a particular ethnic background. Having snow white skin is part of Snow White's character. It's the same reason why they couldn't possibly cast a non Chinese actress to play Mulan.
