Yeah, I don't usually like playing games with so many people (I prefer 3-4, sometimes 5 if the goal is shorter) but I've been kind of taking whatever I can find since I came back. Another reason why we need a B8 group.

When I first came back, I couldn't believe how much new content there was. It seems like the rate at which they added new things has increased since the earlier days, especially items and skills. There was also a huge site redesign a couple years ago which allows you to level up your account by playing and unlock different (visual) perks, like filters for your dice and hats for your pawn. It keeps it fresh and always gives you new things to work towards, without feeling grindy.

When I first saw a leaked screenshot of Blipbug (from the 4chan leaker?) I thought that the image had been compressed horizontally and I was confused on why no one else was commenting on it.

Just basing on first forms alone... Venipede by far.

I used to be an active player, then I took a break for like... 5+ years. I just started playing again a week ago. There's still a whole ton of new content that I'm still discovering, but the core gameplay comes back to you quickly. The only problem is having to rely on public games to play. You're at the mercy of how many people are in the chat and the time of day, and sometimes there just aren't people to play (or everyone active is in a game). So it would be great if there were more players here, that way we could say "hey who wants to start a game?" and actually have enough people to start a private game.

Since the course selection defaults to your highest available research level (3 or 2), it's fair to say that most of your play time will be in the max level unless you purposely press extra buttons to select a lower one. And there are a lot of interactions, behaviors, and even Pokemon spawns that only occur on the max level. I'd say that anyone who did like 2 runs through each course just to progress the story and then quit after the credits could almost double their play time just by unlocking and then playing through level 3 on every course. And that's not even considering "completionist" goals like filling the Photodex. Level 1 is practically a barebones tutorial in most cases, and level 2 sometimes feels like story filler if there's a level 3 after.

I must note that even from the high scoring perspective there are still occasional photos that prefer lower research levels for various reasons. So you're not abandoning that older content even if you become a more advanced player.

Starting at the top is probably a worse idea the longer the series goes on because you'll be increasingly disappointed with each other game you play.

One of the biggest tragedies of this game is casual players stopping after reaching the credits and not exploring even though the majority of the whole game's content is in the max research levels which they never reached.

Play New Pokemon Snap.

And there goes the first Kirby Clash ability.

Even though at top level Sword is by far the best in the game.

Everything on the bottom row of the pic is better than everything on the top row.

Too close to call between Bibarel and Diggersby. Both of their respective battle abilities make them super fun to use.

Gumshoos would be great too if he was just a liiitle bit better. He has 3 very good abilities and can't make good use of any of them.

Snowfields Night is my favorite course in the game.

Are any of them actually as good as Rattata? For a route 1 normal type, the high speed and attack power always made it seem actually useful.

Later ones seem so durdly.

Even Watchog, the most gen 1-esque Pokemon in gen 5, has higher attack than Raticate.

Diggersby is my favorite gen 6 Pokemon and Bibarel is one of the best in-game Pokemon to use in any game.

For the unevolved forms, uh... Yungoos looks kind of cool.
