Right now the sword and shield kind of function like Skyward Sword controls, and I want to take the running mechanics from Kid Icarus. There will be no dodge, but you'll block all attacks. You're going to go on a story driven campaign similar to D&D, and other players will join on your team.

Maybe you're confused because quartz times all circuitry in general and not physical watches. It times every single computer, and if your watch uses it it's basically a small computer with electric motors attached, not a classical physical watch.

It vibrates a lot, and when it's in one position, electricity can go through, and when it's not then electricity can't go through.

TL;DW: When you apply voltage to a bit of quartz, it deforms slightly. When it un-deforms, it produces voltage. If you use a battery (or other voltage source) to amplify the voltage coming off of it as it deforms, that voltage can be used to cause it to deform again, creating a perpetual (at least as long as the voltage source lasts) oscillation. By cutting the quartz in very specific ways, you can control the frequency of that oscillation, then translate that into mechanical motion or drive a digital display.
So it's like pushing someone on a swing.

It's a crystal. It vibrates like a tiny tuning fork, and then it reads the vibrations the get the Hz.

There was a lot more but it was too complicated. I still don't get how it gets it to vibrate or reads it.

In terms of writing and understanding music - try asking questions in ChatGPT. I don't record electronic music, but I appreciate elements of how it is composed. For example, I asked "how to create tension in songs using chord progressions" and I got:
I was about to say, I read the following and it looked very AI generated. Sorry to be blunt, but I don't trust any of that, and even if I did, I don't like using AI.

There are two things with music recording - using the software (which can be easy at first, but high quality takes real time) and music composition. For the software, channels like Creative Sauce are helpful https://www.youtube.com/c/CreativeSauce - this guy mostly does Cakewalk, but the ideas can be transported to Abletonstuff like Eq-ing, panning, etc. and more technical stuff like sidechaining, automation. All good to know.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check that out.

Was that first link sample your song? That sounded pretty cool! It reminded me of one of the garden areas in Metroid.
I definitely think I'm decent, but I'm trying to be better. It sounds really cool, and don't get me wrong I really like it, but you wouldn't add it to your music playlist, and that's the tier of quality that I want. But also to be fair to myself, I feel like I have something a lot of people don't have, even after they master the "professional knowledge", in that I can't finish a song unless it feels and sounds special and makes me feel a certain way. I hear a lot of music where it just "happens" and "sounds professional". But I feel nothing when I listen to it. I want both sides of the coin.

Not to plug my favorite music or anything, here's an obscure Japanese artist I've been obsessed with, this is an example of someone who has both sides of the coin, he's extremely focused on conveying an emotion, but has all the professional knowledge to back it up. I could make something like this if I only knew how.

Yeah, you don't wanna sit there trying to reinvent the wheel when there's a ton of helpful content out there that you can lean on.

I think a good place to start is to look for tutorials and music based on the genre you are looking to make music in. The tutorials will help you learn techniques commonly used within the genre. Actively listen to music in that genre and take note of the kinds of sounds, rhythm and other techniques used. These will give you ideas for your own tracks.
Hmmm.... ok, I'll keep looking. But yeah there's something basic I'm missing that I have to find.

That processed cheese is generally the same thing as the "premium" cheese aside from things like using powdered milk.

On that note, American cheese is a freak cheese unlike any other, it's a mix of several cheeses diluted by milk, not to say it's bad or anything. If you only use American, try colby jack, mozzerella, or gouda on your next sandwich for a comparable taste.

Yes, up until age 4/5 I was definitely a psychopath without any understanding of morality. I still don't care because I was just a dumb kid, but I teased, stole from, laughed at, and in general tormented the other kids (and sometimes animals) for fun. To this day I still think it's kind of funny that a little shit like me could be so evil, so I guess I don't feel bad about it.

In elementary I always hung out with the nerdy kids and the cool kids. I didn't care. One day all the cool kids exiled me, and I vocally blamed my nerdy friends, leaving me with no friends. I felt guilt but didn't fix anything. The nerdy kids were more of an obligation at that point and I shared no interests.

First main thing I really regretted was being mean to kids I thought were picking on me, with me mostly being paranoid. I even punched a kid for making dumb jokes. That's something I think back on very traumatically, that I just made up a whole paranoid scenario all in my head and punched some poor kid in the head.

All in all I'm kind of one big red flag.

My favorite gym person is the middle aged man fresh off a divorce and is immediately trying to get a revenge body. They're usually overweight and have no idea how to work their muscles (cos they have none) so they're just going 100mph trying to push as much weight as possible trying to get a heart attack in the process.

Best gym advice I ever got was from Chris BeastMode Jones. "NO swinging, NO jerkin', just let the muscles do all the workin" that and he explains how you have to make love with the weights.
I have definitely seen those guys. Around this time of the year, new years, (I picked a really good time for a hiatus) there are so many people with no idea what to do.

Usually around the year the bench machines are packed with a line, but rn the new guys don't know what they're doing, so they just choose whatever machine is free. So the place is more packed than I've ever seen it and I can just walk up to the bench machine. Same with the dumbbells, dumbbells are scary and new guys don't want to use them.

I want to tell them "slower and heavier", but I just mind my own business. If you're throwing them around at 100 mph you need to get some heavier weights.

I plan on doing some dumbbell stuff this time, Bulgarian split squats, one leg dead lifts, multiple lunge variations, one leg calf raises, that sorta thing.
Ohhh lunges. So painful. Everything on leg day is painful. It feels great afterwards. I never fail to get a good workout in on leg day, I see the biggest jumps in growth there, so I guess in a way it's the easiest.

Bench pressing is where I got stuck for a while because I didn't realize that I could push harder. But legs, I feel like I could just go as heavy as possible until I hurt myself.

Some 25 year old was complaining about her knees at work, and I responded by hopping around on 1 foot. She should never call me old again.
