I think it's mostly that ending sequence that was dumb Yeah, that's a fair flaw, but I didn't hate it. I do wish it was changed to where Columbo had the thing rigged to where no matter which side was put on, it was safe. | Southernfatman 05/12/24 11:28:58 AM #12 | The topic made me want to watch some Columbo, so I did. Seems like many dislike or even hate Columbo Goes To The Guillotine, but I thought it was fine. Not perfect, but fine. I'd compare it to some of the mid tier episodes of the 70s. It's sort of a mix of some of the old episodes in terms of plot and characters, but that's also fine for a comeback episode. Also like how the victim is pretty much James Randi.

Columbo doesn't really need a grand finale. Although a good one was in the episode Last Salute To The Commodore, which from what I've read was intended as a finale, but that was the worst episode and thankfully they didn't end it there.
