It's maybe realistic, but it's still a choice the writers made. Getting a career you enjoy, or just staying positive even in lousy circumstances, aren't unrealistic outcomes, and either of those would have kept the core of what I liked about the character. *shrug*

Best part of AJ is easily Ema. A lot of people didn't like her cause she was "grumpy" (which seems vaguely sexist). I liked her though

I don't think it's the grumpiness itself but rather that it was such a departure from her characterization in 1-5. For me she was (and still is) my favorite assistant, so seeing her go from positive and excited about the future to depressed about her shitty job definitely hurt the character. AA6 thankfully pulls it back, though only by putting her in proximity with Nahyuta, which sucks.

Shadow is (was) extremely edgy compared to almost every Sonic character up til that point though, most of whom are just like. This is Fluff the Dog, he is a puppy and he's 3 apples tall and he likes helping others :)

Yeah the knight is the way to go for the first gorgon for sure. It seems like Kyuli (the archer) should have an advantage against that boss but she's just too slow. In general she's pretty underpowered at the beginning of the game IMO.

If I can give one general piece of advice (in spoiler tags just in case, but I wouldn't call it a spoiler whatsoever): make sure you grab the elevator key before straying too far from the Gorgon Tomb (the first area, light blue on the map).

Anyway Kenri has beaten Astalon

I beat the main game like a week ago but I went through it yesterday on Monster Mode, which I was hoping would let you swap between three monsters but no, it's just the gargoyle. I basically went straight to the final boss only to be not quite strong enough to beat it without a lot of retries, so I had to backtrack through the whole castle (forgot the elevator key earlier lol) and grab some upgrades.

People talk mad shit about 2-2 and 2-3 and that's fine but the worst case in that game is 2-1, hands down. Until I played Investigations 2 I think it was actually my least favorite case in the series.

Still Spirit of Justice even without these restrictions
