I do hope that comes sooner than later. Generative AI chat bots can be pretty fun, but they're still very limited by current models and require a lot of babysitting to remain remotely consistent.

It's weird seeing people equate sex-positivity with condoning shitty, low effort spam videos hiding under the radar of a site's TOS.

Hopefully more sites go that route rather than bow down to demands from shitty businesses that don't actually give two flying fucks about the content.

The whole thing is kind of a big catch 22, at least for the homeless population that this kind of stuff is targeting. I'd say the best solution would be the funding of forced institutionalization with extra focus on actual care. The biggest problem is systems like that tend to be rife with abuse, so it would take some real legwork to make sure they aren't just being shoved into a different kind of squalor.

They already had it in their heads how things would go from the start. They seem to like to pretend to keep up some kind of rapport with communities, but once theyve actually made a decision, it is final most of the time. The whole thing is just a silly game that they continue to play for some reason even though everyone knows theyre trash.

Youtube has always been really weird as to what it does and doesn't moderate. Some of it is simply the full scope of the site is impossible to control without bots, but other stuff seems to just be arbitrarily enforced. I wouldn't be surprised if they have an algorithm with a money to controversy ratio.

That's only possible because the wiki licensing agreement allows anyone to use it at any time as long as the agreement is followed. For site contributions, they belong to the uploader.

On their own, it's not really a giant deal. This site was always on the decline, but the real problem is that it's step #?? in Fandom's plan of slowly molding the site into whatever abomination they have planned.

Nah, it's happening because Fandom is shit and their staff are incompetent. Nobody can deny that this place has cesspool qualities, but any worsening of it is their own doing.

It's amazing how everyone from Fandom is just inept in all facets of damage control on any platform they control. There's always just so many ways they could respond better, so many ways they could have implemented more reasonable changes, and so many ways they could actually attempt to improve things. I've found it pretty useless as a general discussion tool. Anything with more than a few users goes by too fast. I don't see much use in an open format chat room. For more niche stuff and stuff with less users, it's more comparable to a forum.

Itll be more slow than that probably. I think first thing theyll do is slowly get rid of less active social boards, then prune any old game boards into just a single board per old system, then theyll probably try to merge active game boards with their moronic Discussion system that they have on Fandom.

A mass exodus would definitely be a good thing, not necessarily for the sake of this board, but just because that theyre clearly going to try to turn this place into a hollow husk within the next few years. If they had any legal hold over the FAQs, the social boards probably wouldve been gone day one.
