  9. Black 1x2 Plate

Firefly was a one hit wonder, and we've seen time and again how poorly that goes when it comes to videogame adaptions.

There is no way a Firefly adaption in this era would be good. Even if they got the entire cast to reprise roles.

The IGN review would be 6/10 "The voice cast does excellent work bringing the spirit of the television series to the digital realm, but a lack of narrative structure and overall repetitive nature of gameplay and an overburdening of derivative quests and goals ultimately makes this game a stinkbug."

Would bricklink be easier? That's what I use when clip pieces inevitably break, and a lot of the pieces are cheaper than PaB anyway.
idk I guess after seeing just how many pieces there are in the instruction booklet makes it annoying one way or another.

once I have the set in hand it'll be a lot easier. maybe there's enough that can be skipped (instead of ordering black replacements for every single white piece) that bricklink will be clutch.

OH and also, only "best seller" pieces are shipped from the US.

I got about 4 pieces down the list before shit had to start being shipped from Denmark, which is another extra "service fee".

So yeah. DLC is preferable to this.

idk if you've used pick-a-brick at all recently, but it's fucking garbage.

you can search by piece number, obviously.

but the piece number in the set is for that specific color, so you have to click the thumbnail to bring up an option to look at other colors.

then scroll through a shitload of other colors that are never sorted in any convenient manner. black, for several of the pieces in the tuxedo cat set, are fucking BURIED for some reason.

then, choose quantity.

Then, make sure you clear all your search filters, because the piece number you just searched is the search filter. if you try to search for another piece, you'll get an "we couldn't find that" error.

then do that entire process this many times:

Also, taking apart LEGO sets is just as fun as rebuilding them, and "DLC" packs could have specific instructions on deconstruction and reconstruction and it'd be just as fun as building it the first time would've been IMO.

I say this just cuz I don't want to have to scroll through the entire piece glossary of the Tuxedo Cat set I just ordered to replace all the relevant white pieces with black so that it matches my actual cat.

But think about it. They could make calico DLC, Siamese DLC, tabby DLC, etc etc for just that one single cat LEGO set. Make it cheaper (or fucking don't, just make me not have to spend 2 hours searching Pick-A-Brick and changing the color from white to black, I DO NOT CARE) and there'd be a market.

Plenty of other sets that could easily do this to, as well. They made Major Vonreg's TIE Interceptor into a whole set, which is red instead of grey, and it's rad. I have it. I recently built the UCS TIE Interceptor, which is SUPER rad, but I'd happily pay for a DLC pack to make the UCS version red too.

I don't read many comics, but if I do decide to read a graphic novel I get the physical version because there are no color e-ink displays yet. But that's fine because comics are very fast reads and it's much less bothersome.

Reading a 750 page hard cover is another awful situation entirely.
