Im sure theres absolutely no way this will turn extremely dark and horrifying and lead to the total destruction of civilization. This combined with frustration gaming is a large part of why I've never liked the various Soulsborn games. Everything is bleak and miserable, and there's no real happy endings. In 20 years you'll swap ages with a random person who's the age you were when you accepted the offer. So if you're 38 now, at 58 you'll age swap with a 38 year old. This makes the deal literal hell for anyone who is already older. I wake up with aches and pains as is. Being trapped in an eternal loop from 47 to 67 feels like it would be a fate worse than death. Even before we start factoring in stuff like watching all your loved ones die or the government hunting you down to dissect you. I think Minecraft was the first major game that was directly owned by Microsoft that also got PS and Nintendo releases, and that honestly might just be because they got them before Microsoft bought Mojang. So it was kind of grandfathered in. I am kind of surprised that (non-certified) checks are still a thing. They're still useful for bill payments (for people who don't want to use digital payment). They're not really for day-to-day transactions for most people at this point. Last I heard, something like 30% of people still use them though. Personally, I would say that the verbalized form of that gesture is, "Are you freakin' joking with this?" Bro's one of those words that can man like a dozen different things depending on context and tone of voice. So that gesture is like "Bro, are you kidding me?" or "Can you believe this guy?" But change the inflection and you've got "Bro! It's good to see you!" You could also have "Bro! What are you doing?!" "Bro! That was awesome!" "Bro! Look out!" "Bro! That was disgusting!" The problem is, people here will probably get modded for even just posting about the campus protests. Not giving opinions or anything. Just "hey, this is happening." Let's be honest, though - literally no one is going to just post "hey, this is happening" without adding their own snide take on it. Which is where the political part comes in. Like it or not, realize it or not, accept it or not, pretty much everyone adds their own biases when discussing current events. Even choosing which stories to mention and which to ignore (let alone which news sites you choose to link to) is playing into bias. Most current events discussion (both on this site and in general) always devolves into stupidity. And there's no real reason for it to be here in the first place. Video games news? Sure. Pop culture news at a stretch, maybe. But global events and outright political discussion, no. And none of this is helped by the number of people making "ha ha gotcha" topics alluding to political stuff as a protest against being told they can't talk about political stuff, because Internet activism in general is about on par with a 12-year old throwing a tantrum because they don't want to eat their vegetables. Which does very little to prove that people here are mature enough to be discussing complex socio-political issues in the first place. (And aside from all that, let's not pretend the protests specifically aren't inherently political in and of themselves - even just mentioning them is politicizing the discussion. But unless you've got a specific alternative in mind, you probably wouldn't have been able to spend it on anything more meaningful or significant than the positive experiences you got out of what you did buy. People act like everyone is wasting time and money if you're not spending all your time curing cancer or building some sort of legacy, but just making yourself happy can be far more meaningful than anything else. And better for your overall mental health (and physical health as well, by proxy) in the long term. Unless you're saying you never enjoyed any game you've ever bought.
