I still do not know how gamestop down my way in south carolina managed to bull-shit their way into being an essential business that stayed open, lol. (In comparison, my boy up in delaware's gamestops completely shut down and so those that had in-store orders was assed out for a little bit). Seriously, gamestop where I am at stayed open that entire time. What they did was just make pre-orders curb side pick up.

On one hand, I had my persona 5 royal like 4 days early, my FF7 remake a day early and my RE3 remake a day early. On the other hand the store manager I'm cool with was pissed he had to be out there still handing out games.

Because those PC games you can't play anywhere (more often that not niche indies, football manager/ rail-road/theme park/ etc. sim type games that is more popular with enthusiasts, and the real time strategy games that did not get a console port yet) does not matter even the slightest with the majority of gamers as a whole and in truth the average gamer only really gives a damn about playing the most recent and upcoming major hype releases, and getting into some sports gaming.

Consoles will give you those almost all of the latest hype releases that everyone is talking about easily and at a cheaper price of entry+the console performance is going to be decent for the next 6 to 7 years of that console's life. Sure, it ain't going to be 4K @ 120fps on up on some games and won't even be 4K 60fps a lot of the time, but the PS5 and series s/X is good enough. All those gamers who is still happily game away on the PS4 and xbox one (which is wild since that money people spent in 2013 for the console is still letting them play releases all the way now to august 2024), or just own a switch and is fine with that?.....yeah, good enough for them.

Hardcore PC gaming fans that mainly populate gaming forums like this one really overestimate just how much gamers in it's entirety actually care about more steam indies available, or the benefits of things like modding and setting up emulators.

Like with the day one thing for xbox releases some peeps always ask that "well what is the point to have a xbox when the PC gets these releases also", but the same thing still applies.......people who want to play those xbox console exclusives but would rather opt for one cheaper console payment to last them about 5/6/7 on up years is going to be buying the xbox series s/x.

Yeah, thats my answer. Since you currently already have the portable+nintendo gaming experience with your switch lite and have no other way to play any of the current or even past non-portable/not on the switch games the PS5 would be the more rational/least redundant choice imo. A PS5 will allow you to play pretty much every major game that has been coming out whether its a current console exclusive to the playstation like FF7 remake, rebirth, demon's souls, spider-man, stellar blade, ratchet and clank rift apart, and so on, or the 3rd party releases you can't get on your switch lite like with persona 3 reload, elden ring (which just so happens to have DLC later this month), etc. etc. Then there will be the PS4 game library you will be able to get into.

PS5 now, enjoy some modern/recent releases you have been wanting to try, but just check local ads to see if you can get a 3DS way cheaper.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned since I'm over here thinking that a new 3DS model cost as much as a damn PS5 or something and that it should be too difficult to just get both.

Anyway for me personally I would care way more about being able to play new games I never played before (like just putting FF7 remake and rebirth aside, rise of the ronin and stellar blade has been mad fun to me) compared to older pokemon games that I did play yet never finished. Like those pokemon games must have never been all too interesting to you to began with if you put them down and never cared to come back to them. (Definitely no shame in admitting that though. I never finished pokemon X (only played for like, 5 hours or so from what I remember) pokemon....moon (tried it, never made it past second island whatchamacalit. Put it down) I think I had myself. By this point I truly felt like I kind of......aged out/lost interest/just not care about the standard pokemon game anymore I guess you could say).

Me realizing that its a absolute waste of time does not = being a corporate shill. I don't understand the logic of wanting to see my locked archived posts total on the playstation boards and wanting to compare them to the xbox and nintendo boards. (I'm assuming this is what you want to do). I already told you that 1. I own majority of the 3rd party games that I've played on the PS4 last gen and PS5 now and so if I find topics on these games then I'll post in those topics on the PS4 or PS5 board (not unless you know something I don't about there being a ton of final fantasy 7 remake and rebirth topics being made on the xbox series s/x and switch boards) and 2. Yeah I edited my post to say 4 is the same as SNES FF2.

You cannot go wrong with either 4 (this one is FF2 on snes), 5, 6 (FF3 on snes. Can also be played via the snes classic), 7 (its your choice between the original and the remake version. FF7 remake is fine to start off with if you didn't feel like playing the original game, but the game does have those wacky oh snap changes that those who played the original would recognize), 9, or 10 as your first game.

Imo I would definitely stick to those 6 for that quintessential final fantasy experience, and then try any of the others if any of those does it for ya'.

Its a great game. Its just unfortunate that we still do not have that greatest version of symphonia that has the gamecube original's performance and the PS2 port's additions. (A major one being making regal a complete character....poor guy did not have a single compound art in the gamecube version).

I have a youtube TV account under my name, but it is purely for both my dad and uncle to watch sports in one convenient spot.

I do tune in to toonami at 12 am and then watch until 2 every saturday night, but if it wasn't for the family I definitely wouldn't be paying for it just for 2 hours of saturday toonami.

Way too many.

Sales usually get the better of me, lol. There is so many games I bought for cheap just because I seen them for a good price on some sort of PSN, eshop, microsoft store or steam sale, and same goes for the physical game price drops at gamestop, amazon, or walmart.

Hell main reason I bought guardian of the galaxy on PS5 is because I seen that game on clearance at walmart near the holidays for like 20 bucks near it's release date. Its still wrapped to this day because I never got around to it.

A fan of sony's games is definitely a bit of a stretch I can tell ya' that now. (To be honest with every playstation I ever owned, especially the PS2 it was always way, way more about the game library available compared to what sony theirselves do, which is why I wouldn't say I am a "fan" of their ecosystem). I am also confused on the community part.

I do own way more PS4+PS5 games compared to the wii u+switch and xbox one+series x, but that has less to do with sony theirselves and is all about the default place I am playing the smaller AA and/or niche games that the xbox ecosystem tends to miss out on n' the type of games I like the most and when it comes to nintendo I will always go with performance on the PS5 side since portability is not a priority at all for me. (I got a bil ol' 65 inch TV so I am always gaming on that).

Just throwing it out there, but during it's generation I owned a shit-ton more xbox 360 games than I did for the wii and PS3 combined for similar reasons. (Mainly the 360 being the console that had a great amount of support for the good bit of that console generation and how it tended to be prioritized for performance/dev's opting to develop on the 360 first, as is what happened with the first bayonetta).

An entire generation will never understand the joy of giving a new physical game's instruction manual a good sniff.

This is one of the games that got my attention from the xbox showcase. The actual gameplay parts they shown looked smooth. The cutscenes is done in that stop motion style and I have to see more of it to tell if it would bother me seeing it throughout an entire game or not.

Nah, don't care for'em. I messed around on fire emblem heroes and genshin impact for a bit, but I will never drop a cent into these games.

I just sucks certain regions of the world is addicted to this type of game and thus devs will keep making them because I really wish something like genshin impact could have just been a normal non-gacha game instead.

This is true.

There is certain rpgs I played when I was a kid like shining force 2 where I thought certain bosses like the kraken, the one golem dude, and oh muh gawd the chess board was some of the hardest gaming I experienced, but this was because I was just a young n' dumb kid doing young n' dumb kid things like letting one character (mainly npc peter) hog all the exp, benched characters who were not instantly good (used to just chuck slade on the bench and didn't even realize he promotes to ninja and quickly becomes pretty damn good. Kiwi never stood a chance, lol), and in rpgs with escape systems almost always try to run away thus leaving me underleved and with barely any money. (I used to think breath of fire 2 was like stupid hard and that the town zozo in final fantasy 6(3) was cheap, but I was just stupid underpowered and didn't know any better lol).

Basically with most of these old rpgs because most players played these when they were really young and with no experience with the rpg genre nostalgia would tell them "yeah, these were rough" when in truth if one was just a little bit older and hopefully with a little bit more common sense the majority of these really is actually easy. They may annoy you with a super high encounter rate like with snes breath of fire 2, but they really are easy.

Not going to lie though I was a bit older when I played through PS1 lunar the silver star story and I do think most spots in that game is legit rough, lol.
