Everyone tends to ignore the latter and focus on the correct predictions and call him a genius. I find it's best to just play the games and enjoy them rather than try to think super hard about the story.

I'd say OoT is one though. Far from saying it's a bad game, I just don't think it will register the same for someone playing it for the first time today. It just wouldn't have that wow factor that was so much part of the experience when playing it in 1998. You see this in the more modern Shin Megami Tensei games where they still keep a lot of DRPG elements but you can just dodge every enemy making the dungeons non-threatening. Compare to classic games where you could get wiped by a random encounter even in a town just trying to go heal. It creates a lot of tension that just isn't there anymore.

I got the Hogwarts Legacy one (Rowling is directly connected and very publicly a bigot), but now we have to see which consulting company worked on a game? It's like trying to make sure no one in the supply chain for your product was using exploitive labor. It's basically impossible. And then you have to determine if the particular thing they're accused of is even that bad. The worst I heard about this company is they refuse to hire white people. I just can't get that upset over it. Maybe I should be outraged, but it just isn't doing much for me.

I definitely got references to classic films from the 70s, 80s, or even earlier, but I think it's because we didn't have much for entertainment options. You rented stuff from the video store or caught stuff on TV. You could only afford a few games and downloading a movie off the internet was a major commitment in terms of time until high speed internet came around. Now there is so much high quality stuff with such wide availability you don't really have incentive to seek out old stuff. And that's fine.
