The only reason detractors make a big deal out of these verbal slip-ups is because they know DSP gets so upset about them. If he could just laugh these things off--something you'd think he would've learned during his 13 years doing this--his life would be so much easier.

The first step towards improvement is recognizing the need for it, which isn't compatible with his I-did-nothing-wrong worldview.

I love that his angry reactions have all the wit and subtlety of a temperamental child who relies on swear words to compensate for a tiny vocabulary.

"That's not what I said, idiot, so shut the fuck up! No, stupid, that's not what fucking happened. Fucking dumbasses."

He's like a comedian getting heckled who can only respond with, "Oh, yeah? Well... uh, well, you're an asshole."

"If you're subscribing to an online service every year and they're not improving, you're contributing to them being the way they are. You have to make them earn your dollar."

Only DSP can start a story about how he's too stupid to pay attention to his subscriptions while he's screaming about being poor, then somehow turn it once again into a lesson about how he is the least self-aware person on Earth.

His lying seems to have gotten worse since his return to YouTube. Scratch that--everything about him has gotten worse since his return to YouTube. He makes no attempt to keep his stories straight, gaslights his viewers constantly, and incorporates begging into every aspect of his streaming and social media. I know he always did some of this stuff to a certain degree, but he's taken it to another level. YouTube DSP makes Twitch DSP look almost reasonable.

He initially seemed to be talking about the bank leaks, but when someone brought it up again, he claimed he was talking about chargebacks or something. It doesn't matter, though. He's at a point now where he can say almost anything and just change his story later or blame trolls for taking it out of context. He's not even trying to make his lies plausible anymore.

Getting rid of Vince is the first and most essential step.

Long story short, DSP is still smarter than everyone.

He's full of bad takes, but this one has gotta be right up there with some of the stupidest shit to ever come out of his mouth. Beyond that, he only leaves his house once a week and prefers it that way--COVID barely affects him.

I guess at this point, when the only successful thing about his streams is the continued income, he has to celebrate anything he can. But you're right: 200k is a milestone and 195k is an arbitrary number.

Also, he keeps saying 195k subs is a milestone. I have no idea how. He's using milestone as a substitute for "I have gained subs". 200k would be a milestone. I dunno how 195 is one more so than 194 or 193.

He's been around the same level of subs for years, likely a side effect of his "YouTube is just an archive" days when he was on Twitch. Given the views he gets, it's safe to say that very few of those subs are active anymore.

The prestream is now a "podcast." Tune in for exciting topics like:

• DSP needs your money
• How the world has screwed DSP over
• Everybody is stupid except DSP
• DSP needs your money
• All other content creators are fucking terrible
• DSP needs your money

What gets me is that he says he's grateful for his great life, but he makes no mention of the viewers who allow him to have that life. More than anything else, he should be thankful for the whales who give him tens of thousands of dollars each year despite the fact that he uses their money poorly, insults them, and makes zero effort to offer them anything in return.

Because when you think of DSP, some words that come immediately to mind are grateful, happy, and satisfied.

Oh, I realize he's full of shit here (and in everything else he talks about). It's just rare to see a video where he's relatively personable and not oozing toxicity.

GotG sounds like it would be more fun to play than watch, but I guess that fits in with the ongoing "I'm having fun; I don't understand why support/viewership is low" narrative.

He comes damn close to sounding sincere in that video, like he really doesn't want to pressure people into becoming members if they can't afford it and wants to encourage people to become members by offering the possibility of playing Halo with him. I have to admit that there are rare times when he almost comes across as an okay guy.

BUT... it's all completely undermined by the constant toxic behavior and shameless begging we see literally every stream. Plus, his memberships perks are garbage. No one gives a shit about hitting the membership goal just so that they can watch him gobble down food he doesn't need to be wasting money on. And how many times has he hinted at doing multiplayer with viewers only to later on change his mind?

I would love to see him scream about lag tactics and dropped inputs in chess.

$35 in tips for the night stream, and going overtime didn't help. I watched a bit of a restream and it was just a bored middle-aged man playing King of Fighters and occasionally complaining between long stretches of dead air. Even when he's not being completely toxic, he's so incredibly boring that any new viewers would give up almost immediately.

Viewers aren't engaged, viewership is down, memberships are lower than he'd like, and tips are minimal if a whale doesn't show up.

Solution: Just keep begging, blame the viewers, blame the games, and change nothing. It's not as if it's DSP's fault that his streams suck.

Talking about stuff like his bowel movements and underwear so old it's full of holes is the kind of interactive content his fans are supposed to pay $300 a day for.

Hey, that was taken out of context by people who stole his content illegally! There were definitely a context where calling your fans lazy for not tuning into your content is reasonable.

His response to the blowback over calling his fans lazy was peak DSP. Directly quoting him when he said something very straightforward and unambiguous was taking him out of context. He was sorry *BUT* it was also all the trolls' fault.

I can't remember the biggest single tip he ever got, but he brings in good money for someone who puts in zero effort and offers his viewers nothing but contempt. If he got a $5000 tip, it would be memory-holed by the next stream, and any subsequent mentions of it would result in a ban.

I haven't watched a prestream in a long time, but I assume they're still mostly the same thing every day. The same people watch him most days, so it's idiotic to explain to them every single stream how to support him. Admittedly, his prestreams are probably more entertaining than his gameplay, but that's only because his gameplay is trash, and I'm pretty sure his few legit fans would rather watch him play the game than rant about how the world has screwed him over.

"I have a special story to tell you." = "Here's some free content for detractor videos."

Almost every stream lately is: "I don't know why support is low. I'm having fun with the game. I don't know what else to do."

Especially considering he can set his own hours for his streaming schedule. So, if he wanted to, he could change his hours, but he's so consistent in sticking to them that he "can't do anything else" in his free time. Of course, he is also a paranoid little weasel that is afraid to go out in public, outside of his day off to do grocery shopping, because he might meet someone who happens to know his "legacy."

I can completely understand not having friends, especially if you are an introverted person who finds it difficult to interact with people in real life. That's not something I'm in a position to judge anyone on. But what a load of crap about being "too busy" to have friends because he has a job, a wife and cat, and a house.

It's weird that he thinks "chill" streams are some kind of draw. As far as I can tell, the only things that qualify a stream as being chill are: 1.) they take place at night, and 2.) they feature games not popular enough to be played during the day. Does his definition of chill also include literally bringing the stream to a halt so that he can send out a begging tweet?

For a man who so desperately needs money, he continues to do nothing (aside from outright begging) to offer anyone an incentive to support him. He had over 1000 viewers yesterday, roughly 4 times what he usually gets, and while many of them were there to laugh at him or enjoy the drama, anyone who had shown up to watch a streamer play GTA was subjected to a 2 hour long prestream. I know his actual gameplay is hot garbage punctuated by numerous pauses to beg, but most potential new viewers are going to give up long before the gameplay starts. You got 1000 people watching--how about you play the damn game?

I think he made about $180 in tips for the GTA stream, then less on the night stream, so he still didn't quite get to $300 for the day. It would've made more sense to do one "marathon" stream featuring GTA.

And back down to low views for the night Forza stream. It's almost as if people prefer to see him play certain types of games and the whole variety streamer gimmick isn't working.

Because he does. He can't just accept that it's a videogame and sometimes you dies. In Phil's mind in a fair world he would beat Dark Souls first try with no deaths and since he doesn't, he need to explain how every death is unfair to him.

The funny thing is, if DSP could make it through a game without dying, then he'd complain that it was too easy. I can't remember which game it was, but I remember a video where he was doing surprisingly well and starting to whine about how easy the game was. A few minutes later, he died and immediately began complaining that the game was unfair. There's no pleasing him.

From what I've seen, he's been hitting the tip goals a lot lately, due mainly to big whale tips. But all of that is immediately forgotten when he has a single slow stream. And he still can't get it through his head that night streams bring in less money because they are only half as long. It's like a guy at a regular job being utterly confused because he only made half as much money working a 4 hour shift as he usually does when he works an 8 hour shift.

Remember when he used to try to promote the idea that he didn't always talk about money?

Going to a store means he has to leave the house, and unless he's going out on his scheduled day off, he is not leaving the house. It's a combination of being extremely lazy and being terrified of human contact. What does he care about saving money, anyway? We've seen proof that he wastes every extra dollar he gets.

The less money he gets on the night stream, the longer he is likely to play. If gin and isolation hadn't atrophied his brain, he might have considered making overtime a reward for hitting the tip goal, not a "punishment" for low support.

I want to see DSP end. I think a final few months of a truly desperate DSP facing the end of his career would be infinitely more entertaining than anything we've seen up until now. As it is, he's going to continue on basically indefinitely, slowly losing viewers and growing more disinterested in streaming but always having a small pod of whales to keep him afloat.

The leaks showed a pattern of spending entirely consistent with DSP's lifestyle. If he wants anyone beyond his most loyal of followers to believe someone else was responsible for wasting tens of thousands of dollars, then he needs to show proof.

This seems to be his new strategy:

• Have a couple "slow" streams
• Tweet out some dramatic reason viewers need to attend the next stream
• Lie about something that can only be solved with more money
• Get said money from whales
• Repeat

He went overtime because tips were low and he needs that gacha money. Free advice for any whales looking for extra content: Wait until DSP is forced to go overtime before dropping those big tips.

I liked his explanation of getting the YouTube play button about ten years ago for reaching 100k subscribers, then having his channel stagnate. That's his entire "legacy" in a nutshell. He had a few good years when he was actually passionate about what he was doing and was attempting to grow his brand, and then he fell into his current rut and never recovered.
