Golf courses are terrible wastes of land but its a sport you can play as your body gets worn down with age so I understand why some people are into it. Like you said though, Ill probably just play Mario Golf once I get too old to play other sports, lol.

and no one is getting locked up, seized property or fined from filing taxes. if you miss reporting a 1099, they just say hey pay this tax plus penalty and interest.

Honestly, I think Sanderson would probably handle a From game better than GRRM if only because he plays around in the high fantasy world a lot more than GRRM does. He is also very methodological when it comes to detailed rules for magic and the supernatural in a way that probably aligns well with video game mechanics.

GRRM definitely handles grim and intrigue better so it's probably a wash.

figure the game devs would work on that, and just want lore and characterization in the world.

But what I said isn't wrong. If you suspect the market will crash even further, and then it does, I save more money by selling early into the dip them buying the stock back at a point lower in the dip.

Stock market has been falling since November. Say I sold in later November, then bought back today, I definitely would be saving money as opposed to riding this out.

Hypothetically if the stocks rose December 2021 to January 2022 instead, then I lose money as that's pretty much the risk of investing at all in stocks.

That works both ways. It's impossible to know if a particular stock will ever rebound. In fact it can continue to crash for good in the sense that it never rebounds to its old glory.

That really comes down to your own intuition, expertise, guts, and the gamble you're willing to risk really.

yeah but, experience and studies proves your feelings wrong. and take today, for example. my portfolio dropped by $2400 at the lowest i saw, and now i'm down $1100. if i sold when i saw how bad it was all doing, i'd have lost that before somewhat clawing back some. it just isn't good business to sell on red days.

maybe if it were a presidential election year

Hypothetically the market goes up to 100.

I fail to see how waiting it out would have been a better plan as opposed to the above.

I dont see how riding out a crash is better if you suspect it'll crash even more.

i don't see how you can tell before you sell that it will go down, and that you can repurchase the same stocks at all reduced costs? every time i tried to do that in the past, the price went up after i sold. your plan will work if you know what will happen, but no one knows what'll happen. how do you know what you sell will go down, and will not recover more than your sale price before you buy back in?
