Moral Orel is a show that lampoons this era of television. Orel gets beaten at the end of every episode with a "forgotten commandment" that addresses the plot of the episode, with it being played for drama once in season 3 and otherwise being a source of irony for the rest of the show.

It's an incredible show that's been overshadowed by Rick and Morty. They fucked it over hard in season 3.

Actually, I'm pretty happy with the MCU. Joker was a fun ride and Shazam grew on me too. Seeing Logan bite the dirt wasn't nearly as emotional as watching him and Xavier suffer however. Both of them died in the middle of nowhere basically, surrounded by confused outsiders, and you have to wonder.... Are these characters people who ultimately wasted their lives, and what kind of impact did they have on the world they inhabit? That's especially profound for me because they have had a massive impact on our world, both in terms of entertainment & movie making, but also helping to shape the lives and personalities of the real people who have now grown up watching them fight bad guys on film, struggling through relatable emotions, for their entire lives.

Okay I'm somewhat sobered up and a little bit over the narcissistic streak I was on last night.

Honestly, after the whole shitfight with Roseanne Barr, I'm glad he's doing his own thing and not feeding the trolls. Dude would probably have to like argue with qanon over the Roseanne reboot at this point. I was kinda selfish because I wanted to feel his big, strong arms metaphorically hugging around me with a potential statement of support.

Like I know he probably wouldn't have interacted with a tweet, but I was in that mindset where it's like "validation or death", gotta shoot my shot with the chance of the actual John Goodman seeing my dumb shit or I'll never be happy again. It's the sort of entitlement only the modern internet can provide.

And that sort of entitlement has set in because both Spike Spencer (English dub of Shinji from Evangelion) and the guy who made Lumines, Rez and Tetris Effect have both interacted with my tweets in the past and given me a fat head. Enabling my dumb shit after all the yelling into the void I do is a bad idea.

So basically this thread was a shitty idea because I was drunk and I wanted John Goodman to make his presence known and metaphorically say "I'm a rock and everything is alright", which is an overreach on my part and a deluded fantasy I was gunning for while I was drinking.

I don't think Dave Grohl was taking advantage of a tragedy. Dude is incredibly talented and has a lot of drive, and I think he would have done his own thing either way. It could have ended up like the Queen solo albums, or maybe Foo Fighters could have been a side thing. Maybe Dave could have left Nirvana and done his own thing.

Maybe Foo Fighters would have collapsed as a short-lived side project if Nirvana still existed.

I still think that the group did some amazing shit, and Nirvana or no Nirvana, the music scene is better off with Dave Grohl as a bigger dude and Foo Fighters having made the impact they have.

That is a real pickle. You might have to send out a few texts for a wake-up call, like a good friend or a parent or someone reliable you know will be up at 10am and be able to give you a wake-up call. Put your phone on max volume, put it on charge, put on some music or whatever will help you sleep and go to bed now.

Before you go though, drink as much water as possible. Turn yourself into a water balloon, four glasses of water or so. Take a leak, take a dump if you have to, but get a lot of water in you. Then line up your wake up call, set your alarms and hope for the best.

You can detox in class. It'll suck, but you can do it.

Things aren't that bad.

It's more that after years of badgering me to open up about shit - with myself being a private, guarded person who's been pretty severely bullied by others in the past, and with my friend being a gossip and someone who's used shit I said against me in the past - I finally had something I could be vulnerable about that was fairly low-risk, which was this girl I was into.

If she rejected me, that's fine - I get it and I respect her decision. And of course she's gonna date someone else, hard pill to swallow but that's the way it's gotta be.

I get rejected, shit hurts but it's fine. She makes moves on my friend and they get together, and that fucks me off. Not because of her - because of my friend.

Like I already felt like less of a person around him, like I was an accessory in his life. And then he pulls this shit? You've gotta be fucking kidding me. You're gonna badger me about being more vulnerable with you and then pull this shit? Eat shit and die.

I confided in my friend for almost a year about her, and I mentioned several times the way I spiralled after other crushes went sour. I get that they have chemistry and just want to be happy, but the one time I was vulnerable with him about something - after he spent so long prodding and prying and being unsatisfied with me for not sharing stuff I wanted to keep to myself - he spat in my fucking face like this.

Don't get me wrong, it's entitled and petty on my part. She rejected me, she liked him better. Whatever, her decisions are none of my business, and even if she was making moves on him that doesn't hurt me so much because I knew she wasn't interested in me. But my friend listened to me talk about this girl, watching me work myself up to asking her out, for almost a year.

It's like, if the roles were reversed - if my insecure, guarded friend came to me about a girl he liked and she started making moves on me? I wouldn't act on it. I genuinely wouldn't have done that to another person, even before this happened. And I liked to think that despite everything that's happened over the years that's made me feel shitty, disrespected and like less of a person, my friend would observe the same courtesy because he knows how much something like that would affect me. Specifically because over the course of this whole thing, I told him how rejection would probably affect me.

But he didn't observe the same courtesy, and that event really sealed the end of our friendship. We had chemistry as friends, but we didn't have compatibility and I wasn't happy as the person I was pigeonholed as in that friend group. I was already coming to terms with how negatively he made me feel on a day to day basis just being around him, and this was the inciting incident which brought all of that shit tumbling down like an avalanche.

One of these days, I was gonna split. I just didn't expect it to be as sudden, violent and hurtful towards myself as it ended up being. And I get that it sounds petty, and I fully cop to being a thin-skinned bitch about this who'd end a friendship over a girl like an asshole. In leaving, I accepted a lot of negativity in my role in all this, and I consider myself both an instigator and an antagonist in how I went about leaving my friend group and treating this guy. But I'm beyond the point of caring. That guy can eat shit and die, and I'll cop to being a shithead and a son of a bitch to someone who maybe didn't deserve it if it means taking control over my life and feeling like shit on my own merits, not because I'm trapped by obligation. I at least feel like I have my own life. I don't feel like a fucking idiot for not meeting anyone else's standards, and I don't feel spoken down to or ridiculed. That comes with the caveat of being pretty significantly lonely, but I'd still take my life today over another day being under that guy's thumb.

And the thing is, I don't think 90% of this dehumanization I'm attributing to him was deliberate. That's just the way our relationship unfolded, and as I began to feel more and more stifled, toxicity began to brew in me. He might have never meant to hurt me, but it doesn't change how I felt in the end. They were trying to break the news softly, but regardless of how it happened, our friendship was never gonna survive this. Fuck that guy, let him be happy and prosperous and all that but he can go fuck himself and I hope he gets fucked over just as hard in the end. Fuck him.

Sorry to rant for a second time in this thread. Like I know some shit posting fuckwit is gonna screenshot this and share it with some dumb fuckface on discord and they're gonna laugh about how much of a beta cuck I am, but I'm so fucking sick of living with the pain of this. It's not as bad as a girlfriend cheating on me with a friend - if anything, I'm more cut up about losing the friend than the girl. But regardless of if you think this is an overreaction on my part or not, the effect it's had on me is far-reaching and painful beyond description, and it's only now that things are falling into place and I'm able to start picking up the pieces.

But with that being said, I think it's important to say that more than any sort of generational conflict, we should be looking at class conflict. Because there are plenty of people 40+ who've lived rough lives, who've been working class their entire lives and who are in the same boat as you or me - perhaps slightly less victimised due to benefitting from more equitable policies in their youth, or perhaps more so due to growing up uneducated and poor and cobbling their current life together on the strength of their lived experiences and will.

Like an entitled customer who goes out of their way to be a callous dickhead to make another person's day worse, an entitled little shit like Elliot Rodgers who's the child of movie producers and a rich Republican fuck who spends their life taking corporate bribes to diminish reproductive healthcare in their district have more in common with each other - even considering generational lines - than a 70 year old bricklayer, a 32 year old electrician and a 17 year old discovering political theory for the first time.

You might feel a bit embarrassed by the zoomer and not consider their inclusion legitimate, but at the end of the day they're exposing themselves to concepts that will ultimately align with your own struggles and the struggles of that 70 year old bricklayer as members of the working class, and the ones speaking up about that shit now will likely join the working class. There are as many rich little trust fund shits as there are flag-waving praxis-declaring lefties in gen z - just like in our generation, and the generations before - and in allying ourselves with the stereotypical "zoomer" demographic and supporting them, we uplift and protect each other. There's no reason to have this bullshit generational argument when what we go through is largely similar.

The people who keep supply chains running and do the physical labor - the people who understand hard work and struggle the most - tend to die before the fatcat pricks do. Old shitheads are in power because they've been able to grow old in power through having been born into power, or accruing it at a young enough age through the opportunities they were presented with that they can hold onto it for decades. That doesn't mean our conflict is along generational lines, because we have old people who understand the value of labor and the importance of fair governance and fair and equitable compensation. More than anything, this "boomer vs zoomer" conflict is about class - and by breaking it down into generational conflict where millenials bash zoomers for their stupid shit and vice versa, less people realise the root cause of all this bullshit.
