Pretty bad, ngl. I have some bad blood with an old friend that started over a girl, though in time I realised it was just a trigger point for a wave of negative shit I'd been collecting for the last few years. I honestly thought I was over it, and I was planning to re-establish contact - even spoke to a mutual friend I had to leave behind when I cut ties, because he's cool and I miss him. But every time I think about this main friend and what happened with him, and how shitty I always felt being around him before he stabbed me in the back, it keeps making me angry beyond belief.

Like you know that universal human experience where you play an argument over in your head and like imagine what you should have said to win it? Imagine that, but every time I imagine confronting that son of a bitch, I have to stop what I'm doing and let it play out. It has to take precedent and I have to process it as a priority or I spiral even worse. I'll be playing Minecraft and I'll legitimately have to put my controller down and have an imaginary argument for like thirty minutes, and I can't stop until I'm done. This betrayal really fucked me up, even a year later.

It's been a rough fucking year, and frankly I've had to acclimatize to having no friends more than anything. I already feel unlovable at the best of times, like no-one could love me based on my own merits, so as a constant feeling that had to take a back seat to me learning to cope with being alone, period. Or making the most of the time I have around people who aren't down to hang out as much as I am.

But the good news is that with my recent new job, it's helping me work on myself and giving me a sense of strength and confidence. There's a lot of hard work, loading/unloading washers and dryers and pushing massive carts of laundry around, and I can feel my forearms and biceps hardening. I'm losing weight slowly but surely, and I'm beginning to step out and act on my own initiative more than ever. I just need to start taking some good selfies or get someone to take some good Tinder pics, and I need to bolster my joke repertoire and my obscure trivia library. It feels like I'm finally beginning to bleed some of the poison out of me that's been killing me since shit went down last year.

So the short answer is that my love life is non-existent and hampered by some shitty, traumatic circumstances, but I'm getting better every day and I'm liking the direction I'm going in. Next time I talk about this stuff will probably be in a more positive light.

I was gonna recommend InuYasha but you just watched the sequel or whatever lol. Or is it that weird political one that's all fucked up?

I have no idea what your preferences are for anime so here are some random picks off the top of my head:

• Golden Time: slice of life show set in a university. The MC, Tada Banri, falls in with a crazy cast of characters including a down to earth CEO's son and the ojou who pines after him, and a cool DJ chick who's in the same club he's in. This show falls off the rails HARD really fucking quickly, but not in a bad way - the premise makes itself known by like episode four, and it's over the top. This is the sort of show that pays off super hard if you buy into the premise right away.
• Sasameki Koto: 12 episode Yuri anime about an out lesbian and her tall, quiet, kinda geeky friend who's A) closeted and B) in love with her. It's not some lurid piece of crap that exists for the sake of TnA, it feels like the focus of the show is the developing relationship between these two girls rather than like pervy male gaze shots. Gets a bit silly, but at the core of this show is a really earnest love story that feels organic and nice, not cynical and exploitative.
• Ano Hana: a slice of life show about a NEET who begins to see the ghost of one of his childhood friends who died as a child. Whether she's actually a ghost or if she's just a hallucination of the main character is left up in the air, and the show is about this NEET character addressing the trauma of his friend's death and reconnecting with the friend group that fractured in the aftermath of it. Serious fucking tearjerker.
• Kimi ni Todoke: slice of life show about a shy girl whose similarity to Sadako from the Ring has left her friendless and the subject of many rumours. Odd and a bit socially stunted, her benign offers of kindness are interpreted as creepy, leaving her kind acts to go under the radar - a fate she accepts due to how long it's ruled over her life. One day, she runs into a popular guy, and for the first time in her schooling life, he treats her kindly - and from there, Sawako finds herself reaching out and developing her social skills in the hope that she can overcome the ostracization that's ruled her life until that point. The show is basically about her becoming less misunderstood, making some close friends and moving forward in her personal growth in the hopes of being noticed by this popular guy who sees her as herself rather than as that girl from the Ring. It's a real feelgood anime, I saw it back in highschool when I really needed something like this.

Yeah, I had a friend who started to get 2 day hangovers. He'd really push it hard though, would get extremely fucked up on box wine and get really shitty. Eventually became the most sober one in that friend group.

I've been getting hangover aftershocks over a couple days lately, but that's because I'm usually drinking hard for two nights at a time. Was gonna try quitting when I got this job, but it's a hard goddamn job and it feels nice to unwind.

Also holy shit I should not have been drinking to the degree I was last night. I feel rotten as fuck.

there was this guy who started at the industrial laundry the same day I did. He bought a window factory from a longtime friend in Turkey, and he has land and stuff over there he has to sort out. He's been keeping an eye on me and picking up slack, but because of the window factory he's leaving on Friday. That leaves me as the sole person in charge of the washers and dryers.

I feel stronger every single week, at least. I might actually be up for the challenge. Having a couple leftover ciders from the weekend to kill pain - which there's less of (pain, not cider) - and to veg out and think about how I'm gonna go forward in this job.

An online friend of mine has been going through a rough patch. Last year, she got married to her partner of 2 years. Six weeks later, he died of a drug overdose.

She had to move out of their shared home because the memories of living with him and trying to resuscitate him were too traumatic. She moved in with a coworker from her damage reduction job, but to make ends meet she had to start doing sex work. Her support system found out and withdrew all support, and she's not able to supplement her income with sex work because she's ten weeks pregnant.

On the upside - I'm pretty sure the kid is from this other guy she met, they've been in a relationship for a couple months, and she's keeping it. I had a talk with her and she mentioned that she was trying with her husband for a while but thought she couldn't conceive because it never happened with him.

She's been able to sort out her immediate issues, her bills are paid and she might still have funds to move after a bit of back and forth with her support structure. But like I'm still super worried about her, she's had a dogshit 8 months. It's just stressful y'know, want her to be alright.

@Smackems pretty easy, sure. Forced Exp. Share meant I had to think about how much I was grinding, and I managed to stay pretty balanced up until the Pokemon League where my level 60 party got wiped out by Cynthia's level 66 Garchomp.

There are new Pokemon zones in the Grand Underground that scale with each gym visit, so you can overlevel if you spend all your time down there.

Would definitely wait to see if this game gets an Exp. Share toggle before you get it. Somehow I doubt it, but if you're looking for more of a challenge, you're definitely gonna wait for a while.

Ehh. The thing that bothered me the most was catching a new Pokemon and balancing it with the rest of my team.

I mean the fact that people still go "the Best Game Ever contest was fucking stupid" is what makes it funny. Like I think the L Block thing is better, but whenever I see salt about Undertale winning, it's funny.

It's like, L Block was a joke played on the website by its users. Undertale was a joke played on this website and its users by everyone else. Given that I began using this account specifically to watch people be salty - which was kind of a lost cause, because everyone was more or less resigned to the fact that Undertale was gonna win by the time I joined in - of course the Best Game Ever is gonna have sentimental value. And the fact that people continue to dislike that it happened only makes it better.

Looks like that's the case. It's just the proper online components that aren't in the game yet, aside from the Grand Underground.

So at the Pokemon Centre, there's a battle arena area where you connect with someone over Nintendo Online to battle them - just like always. The option is there, and the attendant is there to like save your game and connect you and stuff.

The issue is that they haven't added in that functionality yet. So all she says is "Sorry, but the Battle Arena isn't open yet".

Similar thing with the more casual union rooms where you can battle and trade at your own leisure. If you're connecting locally - and possibly via friend code - you can meet up with people in these rooms. But the global union rooms where you jump online with up to 32 random players have been needed until a later update, restricting 2 players to a global union room.

So you go to battle and trade, and there's one other person in the room. And they usually wanna trade, but they're trading their best Pokemon, like they're trying to show it off. Then the trade gets cancelled and they leave the room.

That's the state of the online connectivity rn.

I think you can connect with more people via friend code, and there shouldn't be limits on local connections. But the battle arena isn't in the game yet, and the union rooms are so gimped that you might as well not use them.

I'm up to my 7th badge area, I don't really like the games but my nephews do so I try to get to a point where we can play online and i'm not useless.

Well I hope you get to play online soon. I mean you can play in the Grand Underground, but if you guys wanted to trade or battle, the best you can do is connect in a union room with a friend code and trade/battle with them one at a time.

Who would think it would be "fully patched"? What you got is what you got, Nintendo's not gonna do anything more with it.

I would think it would be fully patched, because the functions I'm talking about are present in the game world, with a toggle in place to keep players out until it's added to the game. While I disagree with the necessity of having to patch essential music and animations into these games, the fact is that these games have been patched and are presumably still going to be patched.

Like don't get me wrong, these games are absolutely fucking shameful - imagine shipping a game without a proper title screen. But at the same time, what the fuck are you even saying?

Finished Pokemon Brilliant Diamond. If you're planning on getting it when it's fully patched, keep on waiting. You can't trade online or battle users online.

* The GWS hasn't been added yet.

* You can't battle other players yet.

* Global Union Rooms have a maximum of 2 users, making them useless.

* The Grand Underground is really good.

* If you like Sinnoh, it's still Sinnoh. Gen 4 was my least favourite gen, and this remake didn't change my mind on that. Some of that was due to glitchy stuff, like getting stuck on Strength boulders and seeing seams in the game world, but for the most part I wasn't super happy with Brilliant Diamond for the same reasons I didn't like Platinum so much back in the day. I just don't like Sinnoh that much.

* Pokemon models and battling is fine. I like catching Pokemon.

This game released two months ago and it's still missing features like battle rooms and global trading. If you're waiting until the game is fully patched, you should keep waiting.

I had an appointment today, but I forgot that the office that it's held at is closed due to COVID. I asked my boss if I could leave at 1pm to make the appointment and he said yes, and when I realised it'd be a short phone appointment I kept my mouth shut and left at 1 anyway.

Two hour early mark, though as penance I worked through my lunch break. 7am to 1pm, on my feet the whole time.

Have you seen the street fight subreddit? That and a subreddit involving pretty grisly injuries are my guilty pleasure subreddits, I'd name it but I don't want to get modded. It's.in the vein of "hold my beer", though.
