Goldeneye managed to take out the Call of Duty that made CoD what it is today. San Andreas took out one of the most casually accepted games going at the moment in Mario Kart 8. The Card Buy-In Pre Show Match Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, Wheeler Yuta & Jurassic Express --I know Orange Cassidy is a big name, and Jurassic Express get lotsa love too so I assume this team will win. Women's Casino Battle Royal - winner receives a future title shot Known participants:Thunder Rosa --oh gosh I recognize like none of these names. I think Britt Baker is a heel and Thunder Rosa is a face and hyped relatively new competitor in AEW? Let's go with that. Special Singles Match Jon Moxley --I barely know AEW, so I certainly don't know NJPW. I assume this is a "whoa wow these two are fighting crazy" match and they'll give the home team player the win. If Chris Jericho loses he must retire MJF --Chris Jericho has done an admirable job being a active foundational pillar in AEW's promotional infancy. I wouldn't be surprised if he's ready to take on a much more supportive role going forward. The long awaited AEW in ring debut "Tall" Paul Wight --I knew Paul Wight was in AEW, but I didn't know he was this close to competing. I assume they'll give him the win on his debut. TNT Championship Match Miro (c) --Miro sounds like the guy I should be most upset that I'm missing out on by not following much wrestling these days. Cage Match for the AEW Tag Team Championship The Lucha Bros --Lucha Bros seems cool from what I've gathered about them from watching the odd PPV and reading a Dynamite recap here and there. AEW Women's World Championship Match Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D (c) --My understanding is that Britt Baker is the hottest women's act (possibly in women's wrestling as a whole right now) going at the moment after a long ass reign by the previous women's champ, so it's probably too early to take the belt off of her with so many other matches left to throw out there AEW World Championship Match Kenny Omega (c) --I cannot see any (good) reason why Christian would be the one to take the belt off Kenny Omega The Main Event Darby Allin --Give Darby the HUGE bump by beating Punk on his debut and allow Punk to chalk it up to ring rust and set up a badass rematch a few months/a year into the future. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

I'm glad people were able to get invested in it, though, and had fun with the right amount of drama thrown in. I can't promise there will be another one of these contests, at least one run by me, since it is a huge time sink in terms of it being a nigh-daily task for at least three months that benefits from a consistent starting schedule. However, in the event that there ever is another one in any form, I welcome Bowser's dawning status as the "Contest Link" of Board 8. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

| ZaziGuado 08/24/21 5:38:56 PM #18 | La femme d'argent Ce matin l Le voyage de Pnlope All I Need Talisman You Make It Easy Kelly Watch the Stars Remember Sexy Boy New Star in the Sky I love this album so very much. It's a 10/10 for me. It's one of those albums that is greater than the sum of its parts, but that in no way knocks the parts because these songs are so tight and I could listen to any of them outside the context of the album. While I consider "La femme d'argent" to be the best song, it somehow doesn't get me discouraged once its over with the rest of the album left to play like a lot of other "best song on the album" songs would. Rather, it gets me excited for what's to come because it's the perfect first course to an album full of chill electronic vibes. That french horn in "Ce matin la" gives me 70s sitcom theme song vibes and might be the most relaxing song on the album. "le voyage de Penelope" is such a fun closer and the way it springs the last bit of the melody on you excites me every time. "All I Need" has such a beautiful breakdown at the end. Sometimes I wish I would've made "You Make It Easy" the first dance at my wedding. "Kelly Watch the Stars" is super bouncy and super fun. "New Star in the Sky" is the only song that never truly gets off the ground for me, but I still respect the hell out of it. There's so much to love throughout this album and it's been exciting seeing the rankings on everybody's list (thus far) be fairly varied. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |

While not perfect, I've decided on around that combines at least two of them. For Round 7, users will be voting on the outcomes for each character rather than the characters themselves. It would be the +10 to +1 ranked vote that we've seen a couple of times up to this point. Here would be an example vote: +10 Zazi Guado ADVANCES +9 Giera Guado ELIMINATED +8 Nav Guado ELIMINATED +7 Noy Guado ADVANCES +6 Yumi Guado ADVANCES +5 Yumi Guado ELIMINATED +4 Giera Guado ADVANCES +3 Noy Guado ELIMINATED +2 Nav Guado ADVANCES +1 Zazi Guado ELIMINATED This combines the ranked list of Round 3 and the concept of voting to both advance and eliminate a character that we see in Round 5 (Boot and Immune). I dabbled with the idea of some GP equivalent, but since we are just exiting that round it seemed like it would be a little too iterative. This is something that can be workshopped in any potential future, but for now this is what I've settled on. So as for the results, let's say this is the final ranking: Noy Guado ELIMINATED Yumi Guado ELIMINATED Noy Guado ADVANCES Nav Guado ADVANCES Giera Guado ELIMINATED Zazi Guado ADVANCES Yumi Guado ADVANCES Zazi Guado ELIMINATED Nav Guado ELIMINATED Giera Guado ADVANCES The characters that would advance to the finals would be: Nav Guado Zazi Guado Giera Guado To score this round, I'll simply be going down the final ranked list until three characters have advanced to the finals due to process of elimination. In this instance, Noy and Yumi ELIMINATED were the two highest ranked outcomes, and thus leaves the three above as the finalists. This is where the potential controversy occurs as Noy Guado ADVANCES was also a Top 3 ranked results, but since Noy Guado ELIMINATED finished higher, it is the result that occurs. Meanwhile, Giera Guado ADVANCES finished dead last while Giera Guado ELIMINATED finished mid-table. However, more people wanted to see other characters eliminated, and so Giera sneaks his way into the finals. My concern is that this round potentially awards ambivalence more than anything else and potentially gets rid of the characters people are passionate about (in one way or another), but my hope is that since this is the Top 5 of the contest, every character remaining has some sort of passionate fanbase behind them. --- snowpork azuarc is OP. |
