Until I watched CompanyMan's video on it, I didn't understand any of it, but the whole thing is surreal. They charge for grocery carts. they don't do grocery bags (but now CT doesn't do them anywhere, because our fucking moron governor is a fucking moron who prioritizes nonsense over fixing CT because he's a fucking moron who shouldn't have won but the Republicans threw the election by nominating another fucking moron and the DNC handed to the first fucking moron because they ran a legit crook -- I mean, a guy who went to jail for political corruption -- against moron 1 in the primaries), etc.

Apparently *everything* is a product exclusive to them, and they don't even have normal store hours.

I thought it was like a Trader Joe's, but it's more like a Trader Ghettos. (Although apparently Aldi's owns TJ's, so... wtf)

Provided the system warns people of a shutdown and the cops have a visual, it's very viable. Nobody is proposing what you think is happening -- a blind shutdown when a car may or may not be operating (although hackers might do that).

You're basically suggesting the most ridiculous way something could work while saying it couldn't work that way, despite the fact nobody suggesting it will work how you describe.

This so hard. A lot of the attractions I'd want to see are either closed down or changed, and they haven't really brought in stuff I might care about. Then for the new parks, Animal Kingdom seems... eh. The one kingdom that might have interested me was Beastly Kingdom, but that never got built in favor of Pandora. (And, on top of that, Expedition Everest still has a busted yeti.)

Meaningless decision, tbh. I think I picked Dome the first time, then Helix most others but either one is useless (iirc, Aero has sometimes been good?)

Absolutely gorgeous game, still getting the hang of it. First time in a while a game has outright kicked my ass. I kinda got used to the lower difficulty that's been the trend with most modern games.

More importantly, even a prior conviction doesn't count as grounds for denying bail for other crimes because that's not how anything works, nor should it -- unless that prior conviction involved jumping bail. Conviction of a previous crime isn't automatic proof of a guilt for a new crime because, and this is true, defendants CAN be innocent of crimes, even when convicted of similar things in the past.

And the timeline isn't clear as to *when* all of these things happened. Just because he was arrested on Dec 14th doesn't mean he'd made arrangements that same month, because the arrest was based on the discovery of the arrangements which -- I imagine -- were the result of the continued investigation into the previous crime but again, there's no way of knowing that from these details. The arrangements themselves likely took time to set up.

They're still mostly awful today, but I think a lot of it comes down to them using engines or underlying software so the bad is less bad. Although most licensed shit now is still bad, you're unlikely to ever see another ET or something that's bad to the point of being completely unplayable.

However, I'm not sure it's ever been 90%. There were a lot of passable licensed games, as well as some great ones. Capcom did some amazing things with Marvel fighting games starting in the 90s and, while flawed, the old Marvel beat-em-ups are still fun. And sure, Marvel and DC aren't the *only* licensed shit, but they're some of the biggest.

The SW licensed shit was often awesome as well, particularly the flight sims.

There seems to be a sentiment that the industry as a whole has been a soulless husk of itself for the last 15 years or so, with the occasional gem but mostly dreck. Which is like 97% slice-of-life or Isekai.

Isekai seems to be fucking everywhere, but is slice-of-life really that prevalent right now outside of rom-coms (or the equivalent)? I haven't seen anything discussed that sounds comparable to something like Genshiken.

And while the isekai trend has gotten somewhat obnoxious at times, there are a few titles I've enjoyed, like Overlord and Shield Hero.
