Screw that, have them pick up litter. Or sling soup somewhere. I think it would be very reasonable to replace all fines with community service. It will still disproportionately effect the poor, but I have yet to hear a way around that. Its probably inevitable.

Well we certainly wouldnt want anything ridiculous in how crimes are prosecuted in NYC.

Im feeling pretty generous, so Id even be willing to lower using a loaded gun to a misdemeanor, so long as the criminal uses the gun to shoot themselves in the head at the completion of the crime.

robbery with no weapons, robbery with unloaded gun, robbery with loaded gun.

an unloaded gun is a precommitment to not kill anyone which is good compared to using a gun that has bullets, but the purpose of it is to cause fear which makes it bad compared to having no weapon at all.

I would be willing to agree to lesser charges for using an unloaded gun, but only if the criminal announces that it is not loaded during the commission of the crime.

Those games didnt even break a million copies during the PS4 era.

I really dont think this will result in much of a loss in market share. Perhaps some in North America and Europe, but not to any significant degree in Asia.

Besides, if you look at the sales of the Call of Duty series, most people who play those games were playing them on Xbox anyway.

I just dont think its going to have as much of an impact as people think, even if they do disregard the Asian market, which I dont think theyll do.

I also dont think that Microsoft is particularly interested in making consoles. For years, theyve been slowly pushing in the direction of having there be a single household device to handle all the entertainment, and clearly they would prefer that everything be streamed as a service as opposed to having devices that can actually run games that people can hold in their hand.

Even if they do decide to keep their games off of Sony devices, theyll still be available on PC.

Will the PlayStation eventually poof out of existence? Of course. But probably not until consoles in general become obsolete.

I think their argument is that its okay to withhold information that might alter someones consent if the information being disclosed might cause them to choose to not consent for the wrong reasons.

This is tricky for me. If there truly is 0% chance of transmission, then that is different than STDs. I don't know if it truly is 0% though.

This is the kind of thing that has to be disclosed before having a serious relationship for sure, similar to many other things like inability to have children (like me, I'm snipped), but doesn't have to be said before a hookup.

Effectively, it is 0%, and the concept of U=U (undetectable = untransmittable) has had a mountain of support over the years. But yeah, it does bring up some difficult questions. And it does seem to hinge on whether or not undetectable HIV is considered an STD. But that almost seems like a semantic argument.

The problem that TC is in is that they want the other person to disclose, but they do not want to disclose also. They could make the argument that since it is undetectable that it doesnt count, but the real question is whether the other person would feel the same way.

My only opinion on the matter is that TC shouldnt lie. Because lying in order to get sex is well, not okay, to say the least.

It threw me off because the link looked a lot more legitimate than the dozen or so phishing links I get sent to me every week (I swear they dont even try).

But after looking into it, the site certainly seems to have some suspicious flags.

Im going to send out a text to all my older family members with a friendly reminder not to click on links in texts. If it is a scam, this one is going to catch a lot of fish. If its not, well, less support for what theyre trying to do.
