Yeah I want the Steelbook lol.

Prefer the Ultimate edition one but that's still way too expensive ($90 USD).

What was the game? Never heard of ShitStop doing this sort of thing

Watch Dogs: Legion Gold Edition for PS4.

It's the only version of the game that's randomly priced like that.

Looking into it I think they're actually matching/beating Amazon's price on the item (it's $52.66 there), and knowing Amazon does dynamic pricing that's why it looks like GS is.

I was looking at something last night, regular price $109.99.

It was on sale for $50.78. I specifically remember this because my search history has the USD to CAD conversion in it.

I just checked again this morning and it's now $52.62? Like wtf?

Matt's Coryat score of $31.4k might be the record for highest Coryat in a non-lock game.

This was just a nut's game all-around. He was literally 34/34 on his answers (including FJ). Had he missed the FJ and been 33/34 he could have lost to a 17/18 Ruth (who got FJ right).

He got screwed with getting the first DJ on the first clue and Ruth lucked in to being the one to find the DJ on the $400 clue.

It turns out it helps according to some studies coming out of India, I think S America as well. It does the same thing the mrna vaccines do in that it blocks the protein from attaching cuz it's already latched on, it's just not near as effective. Still better than nothing, would have been good to know at the beginning of the pandemic, but rendered entirely moot with the vaccine supply already meeting the needs. I think it was something like 30% effective at preventing the virus compared to placebo group and helped people from getting as sick.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8088823/

For countries without access to the vaccines it would probably help significantly. I got both shots and I'm already itching for my Delta variant booster in a country with more vaccines than we're ever going to need, which is what really makes the entire thing silly.

This makes reference to the Elgazzar study which was entirely withdrawn

"Spoiled" I guess maybe being a strong word seeing it was an internal email (and therefore not a surprise to anyone that actually received it) that leaked, but he made mention that they crossed a specific donation threshold with the guest hosts and as of the end of today's episode (Wednesday), with two games left now, that threshold has still not been reached.

Specifically he mentioned that they "donated over $3 million". With two episodes left they are about $101.5k shy of $3 million donated, meaning one or both of the next two wins are HUGE.

Because the NCAA overstepped its boundaries? That's why nearly every penalty against them except for the standard ones like scholarship losses and bowl bans ended up getting rescinded.

https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/general-baylor-provided-impermissible-benefits-and-violated-recruiting-rules

A Division I Committee on Infractions hearing panel could not conclude that Baylor violated NCAA rules when it failed to report allegations of and address sexual and interpersonal violence committed on its campus.

However, the panel did find other violations occurred between 2011 and 2016: impermissible benefits were provided to a football student-athlete who was not reported for failing to meet an academic performance plan following an academic violation and the university operated a predominantly female student-host program that did not align with NCAA recruiting rules. Additionally, a former assistant director of football operations did not meet his obligation to cooperate and violated ethical conduct rules when he did not participate in the investigation.

Penalties in the case include four years of probation, recruiting restrictions, a vacation of records and a five-year show-cause order limiting all athletically related duties for the former assistant director of football operations.

So are the DoE or DoJ going to step in and do their jobs then?

https://www.businessinsider.com/viktor-orban-censored-question-tucker-carlson-asked-about-xi-jinping-2021-8

As he was broadcasting from Hungary last week, Fox News host Tucker Carlson presented the Central European country as "freer" than the US and a model for the West.

It's since come to light that a question Carlson asked during an interview with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbn about Chinese leader Xi Jinping was scrapped from the official transcript Hungarian officials sent to reporters, which was first pointed out by Ben Novak of the New York Times. Orbn has a close relationship with Beijing, which has emerged as a thorny issue with the Hungarian leader facing elections in 2022, and has downplayed the Chinese government's human rights abuses.

During the interview, Carlson described Xi as a leader who's "murdered many of his political opponents." Orbn avoided the issue and changed the subject.

After Novak highlighted the exclusion of any reference to China or its leader, Hungarian officials sent out second transcript that included the full interview, per Politico Playbook.

Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider.

https://twitter.com/b_novak/status/1423528385452589058

Orbn is an authoritarian leader openly admired by some prominent American conservatives, who view the Hungarian prime minister as a more successful and politically savvy version of former President Donald Trump.

The Hungarian leader has packed the nation's courts with allies, gamed the electoral system to favor his political party, and shored up control of Hungary's media ecosystem. Orbn pushes an ethnonationalist ideology presenting himself as a defender of Christianity while promoting what he refers to as "illiberal democracy" in his nation of 9.6 million citizens.

Carlson portrayed Orbn as a pro-family leader who defends his borders, whitewashing the autocratic policies of the Hungarian leader's government.

But you are, in fact, still putting a significant amount of viral load into the air in that situation anyways.

sLaCkEr408___RJ posted...

Are you implying the boyfriend should not bother wearing a mask if the girlfriend doesn't?

I'm saying there's fundamentally no point, not that you shouldn't. Both should still be wearing masks.

In the scenario where you both have covid, you're still putting a ton of viral load into the air, it's not "better" that it's "less" because one person has a mask on.

And if the unmasked person catches covid then what? Do the couple not breathe in close proximity to each other both unmasked? Defeats the whole purpose of the one person wearing a mask then!
