Tennessee has become a 1 point road favorite against Kentucky, which makes me a little nervous.

Don't get me wrong. I think we're good enough to win. I'm just not sure how I feel about other people thinking we're good enough to win...!

Yeah, FFXIV got nearly 40% on MK8, which is pretty good, but I'd be skeptical of the strength of any individual character.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/8628-which-scheduled-november-release-are-you-most-looking

Endwalker is an incredibly hyped final part by FFXIV fans and it finishes 4th to SMTV, the D/P remakes, and the GTA remasters.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/8204-are-you-currently-playing-an-mmorpg

Even if you assume the second-to-last option is all FFXIV, that's only a 50% playrate at best.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/6802-are-you-one-of-the-10-million-cumulative-players-of-final

In 2017, that number was only 25%

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/6872-which-final-fantasy-title-is-your-all-time-favorite

The only FFs it beat here are II, III, and XI. Granted, that's from 4 years ago and the game has garnered quite a bit of acclaim in the time since, but I'd be hesitant to expect a lot from it.

I was just wondering who to waste a spot on waiting for him to maybe play after I had to drop Michael Thomas

And Saquon had a false positive, but Judge is still sitting him out this Sunday because he had no opportunity to practice due to the Covid protocols.

As a GT fan, I can tell you that handing out long and safe contracts for any reason is an easy recipe for pissing off your fans and costing yourself more money in the long run.

And the Atlanta Braves win the World Series for the first time since 1995, when I was 9 years old. I remember that win well because David Justice was my favorite Brave growing up, and he hit a solo HR for the only run of the game in the clinching game to win 1-0.

That title run also distinctly stands out to me because my parents got divorced at the beginning of that year. Some of my earliest memories are of watching the Braves with my dad, so that championship made a bad year a little better.

It's also weird to think that I'm about to become a father myself as I've watched them win this one. Maybe the baby will be a good luck charm for all my teams if they're already winning titles while he/she is still in the womb...!

also you could get a weird A > B > C > A scenario if Ohio State beats Michigan State and Michigan beats Ohio State (lawl), which I think would help Cincinnati simply by getting Ohio State out of the picture

but I also think they might be desperate enough for Michigan to be relevant again that it might get them in if they win the Big Ten in that scenario

An Oregon loss helps them out, too, because it means the Pac-12 is effectively eliminated from the playoff picture, and that doesn't feel unlikely based on how they've played lately.

I mean they openly say it's not a factor but how can it not be? You're trying to establish who the best four teams are, and there's a big difference between Alabama beating Mississippi State by 40 and OU narrowly beating Tulane and Kansas

ShatteredElysium posted...
Even Alabama only has 1 ranked win on their schedule.

technically they have two counting the CFP rankings since they have Mississippi State in the top 25

Edit: This is based on margin of victory / game control not being listed as one of the criteria in the rankings.

eh anyone who says margin of victory or the eye test doesn't factor into it is lying

it's why OU is 8th despite being unbeaten

I'd say Atlanta's still a borderline bottom 5 team. Their wins are the Dolphins, Jets, and Giants so they can be better than them, the Jags, and the Texans, I guess. So 6th worst!
