Where both parties benefit - so like with pets as the most obvious example. Plenty of animals have it with one another as well.

This.

Specifically, I mentioned rare breed conservation programs, which sponsor farms and breeders to preserve rare varieties of livestock like chickens and sheep. They're not concerned with meat, and focus on humane byproducts like eggs, lanolin, wool, etc... Many breeds are in danger of dying out completely, but through human intervention they're being preserved.

An even more significant example of human-animal mutualism is beekeeping. In recent history, honeybees were becoming increasingly threatened by natural vectors like CCD and varoa mites, to the point that they were almost endangered in some areas. However, beekeeping became extremely mainstream in the last 20 years, which had helped honeybees recover, since they're protected and cared for by humans now.

Under veganism, relationships like this would not exist and those animals could potentially die out. Why not promote humane farming, when it literally saves animals lives?

The main point to be concerned with imo is making choices that cause the least amount of harm and/or suffering. Veganism is the step in the right direction, and the most powerful choice a person can make towards making positive changes to themselves and the rest of the planet. Apart from the obvious health benefits and animal ethics, there's also two big ones: climate change and disease prevention. Animal farming is contributing to the climate change crisis and is a huge waste of energy, money and materials. Animal farming is also why we have things like influenza, e. coli and Covid-19, and if the trend continues, we'll be on the road to an even worse and deadlier pandemic that not even vaccines or antibiotics can help with, because the superbugs are quickly becoming resistant and resiliant.

It's not perfect, but it aims more towards the path of a lifestyle filled with more compassion and benevolence, as opposed to sensory pleasure, greed and wastefulness. As it stands, I choose the path of less suffering, because I recognize that animals have the right to not be exploited for their bodies and secretions. They all deserve to live happy lives without exploitation and taking away their individuality, only for their lives to end abruptly with fear and suffering in a slaughterhouse. Because that's exactly what we want for ourselves. It's what's best for everybody, and we all win.

And there is a difference between a healthy symbiotic relationship that is mutually beneficial, and unnecessary exploitation & suffering that results in life being abruptly extinguished. Part of the reason why many farmers are converting farms and switching from factory farming animals to plants, like cannabis and various other food crops and herbs. You can still feed people and contribute towards making a difference, without needing to take innocent lives.

This absolutely answered nothing about what I said. I listed examples that refute the idea that veganism is only about the welfare of animals and limiting suffering and all you did was regurgitate the key points that a vegan on the street will give you. So let's try this again.

Mutualism is a naturally occurring concept seen by a multitude of lifeforms. There are examples of domesticated animals having mutualistic relationships with humans, to the point that without intervention, they would die. These humane forms of domestication (i.e. fiber, rare breeds, beekeeping, etc) do not result in a "life being abruptly extinguished", but quite the opposite, it protects animals that would normally be at risk of dying out. Why does veganism oppose these forms of mutualism?

Veganism doesn't always equate to being kind to animals. Some animals have a mutualistic relationship with humans, to the point they might literally die out without humans domesticating them.

For example, there's varieties of sheep, chickens, and other livestock, which are endangered breeds. There are programs like Shave Em To Save Em designed solely to help people raise them for wool or eggs or lanolin or other byproducts, to promote helping those breeds survive. Animals aren't harmed, and their breed gets to keep existing.

Another good example are honeybees, which are unbelievably important to human survival. Yet many varieties of honeybees became threatened by 100% natural vectors like CCD and varroa mite infestation. Beekeeping took off as a hobby in the last couple decades and honeybees are now cared for and guarded like members of the family.

Veganism opposes forms of mutualism like this which in turn would progress the extinction of certain animals, while also harming mankind. Does that still count as being kind to them?
