I genuinely started enjoying it as soon as I could queue up for those 4-man dungeon runs, which was around.. level 17? That elevated the game a lot, especially since I just stumbled upon a guild with a bunch of nice casual players hanging out who would queue up with me. Also, being a tank or healer at that point will drastically shorten your queue times.

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed that aspect of it at least despite my gripes with the story.

It wasn't story as much as set-up. Keep in mind they had to bundle in lore from 1.0 while fixing the huge mistakes they did. They also had to re-establish current characters like the scions while introducing new characters. On top of that they had to weave in three city-states and their stories/politics along with all the beast tribes.

Thats not even taking into account the main lore which is the primals, Ascians, Hydaelin and Zodiark, and the warrior of lights role in everything.

So yeah I could understand why it would be painful, don't get me wrong.

Edit: Totally forgot Garlemald, Binding Coils of Bahamut and Crystal Tower. Seriously, they had to go over the fall of Dalamud and what the Garleans have been doing to Eorzea, as well as characters like Nero, Louisoix and Gaius. Yeah fucking hell, now I'm typing this all out its a wonder how they managed to fit everything in.

Probably. I only came in like.. a year ago, and while the actual game itself is good I had come from the story content of SWTOR, which (imo) was excellent so was a massive downgrade and disappointment.

No issues if others liked it, or found it tolerable, but I just found myself switching off. Finally, I realised I recalled nothing from the past hour or whatever of cutscenes/dialogues once and decided to just start skipping and only paying attention occasionally. And likely would have dropped the game entirely otherwise.

i get the message you have here: the arguments against eating the animals we hold sacred can be applied to those we don't

my response is quite simply: not as effectively.

My point was what we hold sacred or not is effectively arbitrary. Yes, we have reasons in the past for holding cats and dogs sacred/useful beyond eating, but in the modern day they are all effectively irrelevant.

Gladius_ posted...
I'm stating why it is so in most places. That's all. Given how I've repeatedly stated that I don't really care about the moral principles behind it would suggest I don't care if the world suddenly began eating dog. I'm simply stating why most of the world "Doesn't." note I have never called other cultures who don't have that attachment evil or other such nonsense.

Essentially, I am debating outside my feelings.

Sure, but that reasoning (in the modern day) doesn't actually hold up to scrutiny. I think pretty much everyone would find the sight of a cow, horse, pig or sheep playing adorable and want nothing bad to every happen to it just as we would a dog or cat. The vast majority of people will apply that same part of their brain that thinks "adorable, must protect" to them as well when they are shown to be like the pets they love.

The argument isn't just "That's how we've always done it" but I'm not repeating the answer when it's been typed out over and over again.

That is what it is though in the end. Fluffing it up and pretending otherwise doesn't change the argument you are actually ultimately making.

Many places eat dogs and cats, that are capable and do eat other farm animals. They are all equally capable of affection and intelligence, so placing one on some arbitrary pedestal, when many societies have used dogs in your "historical context" and also eaten them doesn't really make sense ultimately.

Once you get to the DLC. It seems pretty universally agreed the base game is dog shit, but "supposedly" you should go through it to understand and appreciate the characters.

I just gave up personally and skipped the story as fast as I could and feel no regrets.

Of course, if you don't like MMO's then it'll never get good to you.

Where would the heart be located? That's the biggest problem. It could be on the other side of the universe protected by quantum anomalies and black holes.

Above the gay adulterous shellfish eating deviants. Such a devious act causes god's heart to be forced to form above them in attempt to punish them for such a grievous sin. However, the sin is so great it makes god weep and in that moment he is exposed.

And that's when you strike.

Yikes.

I disagree. Respect is a two way street. I'm not saying you're one in the slightest, but if you invited me to a bar and the first thing I said to you was call you an idiot and constantly attacked you, I would expect you to feel a certain way about it, and I definitely wouldn't expect you to apologize to me after you decked me in the face.

You can counter, "he's an adult and they are kids. He should know better" which I would agree with you on. He could have handled it a bit better.

But I'm not going to give a bunch of misbehaving kids any slack neither. They were disrespectful and Dave handled the situation how he chose to. You can agree with how he handled it or disagree with it. Me? I don't agree with how he handled it, but fuck those badass kids.

It's more like you went to a bar to discuss something you said and people mentioned they disliked what you said. You then proceed to have a tantrum.

That's like saying Freddie Mercury is Queen, or that Michael Hutchence is INXS.
Other guys in the band are skilled and talented as well, though the guy who died was on a whole other level and was essentially the main face of the band. That doesn't mean the band is over though. At most, it means their glory days are behind.
The band can still move on, find a new lead singer and go on doing their thing, and they'll still have a significant following (though obviously not nearly as big as it used to be).

Sure, but you do it like Joy Division did going into New Order imo.

Perhaps I should raise Mountain then.

Mountain is absolutely worth raising, even outside of this stage. He's an utter beast, both with skill 2 and 3. Otherwise it sounds like you are doing things right. Lapland, as ennui has, is probably also good with her silence for the whatever you call them and can drastically help as you ideally want one of the long range guards on the bottom to kill them before they get close and explode.

My set up was similar to theirs, but I used Schwarz on the bottom lane as her skill 3 m1'd makes quick work of the dudes that wait in its extended range.

Thats a good point. I hate how some stages practically force you to find out when and where which enemies come out from. And Im frustrated to death by the ice Annihilation stage right now. I just cant get through all 400 enemies; one always sneaks by and I dont get the perfect <_<

KyoStinV's guides are an utter blessing for anything Arknights. From what I recall I used, it mostly relied on Blaze on the top lane with the wide healer to give status resistance and Thorns on the bottom. Then a few other units about, or chucking down when they spawn on top of you.

Mountain on the far left lane handles it solo, and then Surtr to annihilate as needed.

Can always use a support unit if needed for these, as can just auto one of the quicker stages.

But yeah, can be a little frustrating have to either guess or use the "practice tickets" or whatever they are called without a guide, but I guess that's the point of a tower defence game.
