Upgrading your skills and stats is what is being invalidated by enemies scaling with you. The purpose of getting those upgrades is to be able to explore more dangerous areas with stronger enemies and demolish things you've already fought a bunch of times before. If everything is scaling with you, the stats and skills don't matter, and you never feel like you're progressing in power. --- |
