Why is it that whenever gender equality comes up in a discussion among men, it's centered around if it's ok to strike a woman?
There's plenty of times it's brought up regarding the unfair judicial sentencing standards.
Most notably when it comes to news of female teachers committing statutory grape against underage male students and getting a slap on the wrist.
I'd say that's far more common, at least on this board...

Also, apparently a lot of these companies use software from Clearview, the company run by the dude that looks like he hangs around playgrounds and was already in controversy for scraping peoples' images from social media to put into a database w/o their consent. Yes

Between the initial wave catching us off-guard and leaving a wave of death in the initial breakout areas and all the unfortunate elderly people that had the misfortune of going to the grocery store and catching it from some anti-vaxxer, 2020 had a hefty amount of innocent people dying to COVID.

2021 we had the vaccine. The vast overwhelming majority of deaths were anti-vaxxers.

Therefore, I consider 2020 to have been a worse year for COVID deaths.

No it wasn't.

It's worth noting that Washington as a politician was kinda eh; his legacy was more as a general. And to some extent the fact that Washington wasn't a stronger hand is why the US almost immediately splintered into two political parties (the federalists and democratic-republicans) despite his dislike his parties and factionalism.
Just the opposite...
He was a very mediocre general that lost many battles and made big mistakes, but competent enough that his army didn't collapse, at least. Benedict Arnold was the talented general that literally saved us from complete and utter defeat, but we treated him like crap and he bounced.
As a president though, he was great. Very fair and even-tempered, set pretty much all of the precedents we came to expect from the office, and was humble enough to leave instead of cling to power whilst warning us about how much forming political parties would ruin our country.

Plus a bunch of supplemental info to read. Then another boss and run all the way back out (fast travel disabled). Then another 2 hours of scenes and skits with like 10 seconds of walking around in between at times.

I'm now at Rena (additional space to make the spoiler less obvious), and hopefully the ordeal is finally over. I've never seen a game this bad w/ exposition dumping. Worst part is how repetitive a lot of it is and how often the characters end a skit with "well, the only way to know is to keep going" / "we need to hurry" / etc... then immediately there's another skit or scene. She said she's been working from home ever since the leak and angrily told how she's felt "judged" over it which was fueled by MISOGYNY
Uh huh. Let's look at the facts, shall we?

26 y/o Rookie NYPD Cop Vera Mekuli has apologized to Married Police Lt. Nick McGarry and his Wife Melissa after the shocking video of her giving him a LAPDANCE at a holiday christmas party and is heard saying "I go after what i want"!!
So she was the one that took the initiative to do the lapdance and declares the above...

Vera says it was for s*** and giggles and that everyone was having drinks but now it's led to embarrassment causing her to work from home
She first said this and then changed her story to play the victim...

She is also seen grinding on another man and facing the floor
This wasn't even the only guy she grinded on...

Vera also said because she's a woman she was judged harsher and wouldn't
be if she was a man and that her "rookie" status played a role

NYPD wasted no time in disciplining McGarry who's been a cop for 11 years. He is reassigned to serve in Transit District 12 in the Bronix following the tawdry video

An unnamed source said "He knows he f***** up. Messing with your subordinate is a no-no on the job. I can't even tell you how many times they tell incoming supervisors that"
He's the only one who's been disciplined thus far while she gets to telework. But she's the REAL VICTIM you guys! If the genders were reversed, HE would be the one punished with telework!

Vera's father now plans to sue after she came crying to him "daddy, i made some mistake. I've embarrassed you and the family"
So, based on the above, she clearly deserves a pay day from the taxpayers for her own repeated (twice) decisions and her not receiving a punishment yet, unlike the other cop. It all makes sense!

Fucking gag... I wanted to say none of this fucking matters other than their own personal lives and it's an absolute fucking joke that this is being treated as more heinous than many cases of police brutality/shooting. And I do still believe that.
But holy fuck does her screeching "misogyny!" while grifting for a pay day piss me the fuck off. I hope they fire her... Not for the lap dancing. For the shit after it.

I think NLA would have benefited from a jukebox feature. So much of the game is spent there that any single track was doomed to get overly repetitive even if the themes had been better, so letting the player pick what to listen to (possibly doing something like what Smash does for custom stages, putting together a playlist and adjusting the chance that each song shows up) would have been great. It would have worked thematically, given the futuristic setting, and could even have been unlocked via a sidequest where you establish yourself as the official Music Dude for the colony. Similarly, putting "radios" in Skells would also have made sense and added further options for environmental music (including, presumably, toggling whether or not there's a flying theme).
I thought each zone should've had its own theme, but a jukebox works even better.
But they couldn't even be bothered to let you add party members via a central console (which is used for literally everything else, even buying skells!), a feature available since at least Suikoden 1 in 1995. Instead you had to run around NLA to find people every single time you wanted to add them to the party.
So I doubt they'd have ever considered something as convenient as a jukebox.

Like... I love XCX, but damn if it didn't have a lot of really weird flaws and annoyances.

Tales' combat system is pretty similar to Smash's: You move mostly in two dimensions and combine a regular and a special attack button with different directional inputs to perform different attacks, which can be strung together into combos. Each game has further mechanics to spice that up a bit, but that's the gist of it.
It changes a fair bit w/ each game, feels more like they're never happy w/ the combat system than "improvements". At least until Arise, which is the best combat I've seen in a Tales game (though I've only played a few) and I hope they keep it.

In any case, I prefer Xenoblade's combat w/ the arts and auto attacks. It's a nice compromise between the strategy of turn-based and the excitement of real time.

The absolute worst was having the flying theme not only override the area music, but to cause it to restart when you landed. The flying theme wasn't good, by any means, but it was at least tolerable, in my books. The area music, on the other hand, was generally really awesome and I really enjoyed listening to it. Starting the area music from the beginning any time I jumped for more than 2 seconds was a massive pain.
Ugh, there were so many damn unforced errors w/ the sound track. Which was good overall, but ends up seeming bad, b/c the fucking NLA and Black Tar themes are so fucking awful and so fucking omnipresent.
The flying theme kicking in so fast is annoying. And picking a song that's been disrupted back up from where it's left off isn't hard to do, I've seen other games do it.
And it's the only Xenoblade game w/o volume sliders, so you either have to listen to the awful music or mute the entire game (I literally did muted "night runs" of NLA for side quests periodically, cause fucking hell that song is like nails on a chalk board for me. My wife found it funny how I'd be in NLA and see the sun starting to set and then desperately run for the barracks or a time change station before it was TOO LATE, lol)

Ehh, I don't think it makes him look like a chump. The whole point of the Skrulls is that they're really good at disguise. And it's not like Mysterio knew Nick Fury personally.

Now, if it was established that Quentin knew Nick for like 20 years beforehand and didn't notice the change, then yeah, I'd agree that makes him look kind of dumb. But if you've never met someone and only really know them by reputation at best, you'll probably be fooled.
It's not that Mysterio should have known about the Skrulls or whatever. I just wish that entire thing had been left out.

It means that:
  • Nick Fury was never actually in any danger at all
  • Mysterio wasn't cleverly manipulating Fury for his own ends the entire movie after all
  • A lot of Mysterio's plan had no chance of ever working in the long run b/c it wasn't really Fury in the first place
  • Prior to the scene, Spider-Man was the hero who stopped Mysterio's nefarious plot. After that scene, it means Spidey's involvement was basically just being duped into giving Mysterio the murder drones and then undoing that mistake by getting them back.

Just really retroactively takes the wind out of the sails of the entire movie. All to set up some larger universe crap I don't care about.

Ultimately that's all that mattered to me. I hated almost all of the school trip and MJ crap, and basically any moment Mysterio wasn't on screen.
But that was enough to make it my favorite Spider-Man movie.

And yeah, that post-credits scene pissed me off. Retroactively makes Mysterio look like a total chump, getting fooled by Nick Fury like that. Fury should be a supporting character, he shouldn't be outdoing the superheroes/villains... If there's ONE guy who should've been able to outsmart Fury, it should've been Mysterio. But...nope!

I like to pretend that post-credits scene didn't happen, so it doesn't ruin the film for me. *shrug*

It was overall a good but deeply flawed game, and the more you hope for a game like XC1, the more disappointed you'll be.
Excellent music and environments/exploration (XC1 and XCX are better, but it's still good).
Side quests are better than XC1 and worse than XCX (where the side quests were better than the actual main story...)
Plot is bad until late game and then is ok. Final chapter kinda "saves" it, but not not in a way that redeems the first half of XC2's plot. Can't go into more detail than that w/o spoilers, have to keep it vague.
Characters are voice acting are hot garbage, especially Rex and Tora, whom you'll unfortunately hear from a LOT.
Combat is...hard to pin down. On one hand, once you figure it out it's more fun than XC1 for a while. Then you realize every single combat and every single character and choice of blades follows the exact same strategy of "painting" different colors then using a chain attack, and the combat gets really repetitive and dull (while as in XC1, every character actually played differently and even had different builds... XC2 is all about "color coordination" for the elements). And long before then, it will just be slow and confusing b/c above all else it is SO FUCKING NEEDLESSLY COMPLICATED.
Oh, and the game is drowning in tedium with all of the merc missions, field skills (and the constant swapping of blades to meet them), blade affinity charts, and most of all the random "gacha" method of finding blades.

It's worth noting the prequel expansion, Torna: The Golden Country is basically a total improvement over the base XC2 game. Combat is streamlined and improved tremendously, there's no tedious merc missions, you always have all your blades "equipped" for field skills, no gacha, and good lord are the characters and voice acting a massive improvement!
Plot's actually worse than XC2, though.

I'd give XC2 a 7/10 and Torna a 8/10.

So, no fucking thanks. I love my $50 (maybe $100, tops, if it weren't on sale at the time) Moto smart phone.

Perfect!

And you'd think w/ the lock downs in 2020 and extroverted people losing their fucking minds over it, that would have finally birthed a slew of, "how to deal with your extroversion problem" articles.
But nope. It can never be them that's seen as "wrong" or "flawed" and in need of adjustment.

Tough choice between 1 and 8, I went w/ 8

Could've sworn Missouri was at or near the bottom too, surprised it wasn't an option.
Didn't look it up, that'd be cheating.

This. And do ignore the usual commies telling that you should sell your assets BECAUSE MUH OTHER PEOPLE. They still don't understand the basic principle that losers aren't entitled to stuff you legally acquired.
Selling property is communism now. And buying it for money is being "entitled" to it.

TC, I agree w/ your topic title. And w/ Adj and Jen.

You should sell your rental property and never be a landlord again.

But you won't do that, will you? Because as much of a pain as some tenants might be, you know deep down it's still getting you lots of money for doing almost nothing (hiring someone to fix a maintenance issue isn't "work") and you'll never give that up, no matter how hard you try to virtue signal otherwise to us online.
