Just do a shortened quarter with no sudden death like 10 minutes or something. If it's still tied then do another 10 minute sudden death.

Yeah it's more football for the players who are already tired but it's not much more than a regular sudden death would be.

Currently watching the latest season of Ozark. It's a good show and people compare it to Breaking Bad because of drugs and mild mannered dad "breaking bad" but it never really achieves BB status. I'd still recommend for anyone looking for a depressing drama.

Before that was Cobra Kai which rules if you're okay with shutting your brain off and watching a bunch of teens karate fight each other.

I figured we had a good enough amount of people playing when this released that some people might be interested.

Some fun changes and new runewords here! I think the secret best thing is more level 85 zones for new farming spots.

I'd love if they rotate farming spots with each ladder so people need to mix up where they're farming but maybe the game isn't large enough to justify that.

Anyone else who got burned out thinking about hopping into the new ladder? No release date yet but probably about a month away I'd guess.

Gamepass on PS5 sounds bad for Microsoft, why would they want that? I always assumed that Gamepass was a loss leader to encourage people to buy Xbox but maybe I'm wrong?

I buy games on whichever platform has the best deal but it is a little annoying that Epic doesn't have any achievements.

I'm not someone who chases achievements but I do like getting 100% for games that I'm really enjoying. Without achievements there's not much reason for me to keep playing a game I'm enjoying once it's done.

I mean could you imagine if the whistle situation went the other way? Ref blew a play dead that wasn't dead yet and cost a team a touchdown? Pretend that the Raider player did make an attempt on the ball and it was still caught but the play was dead.

I feel like they might fit into another property better. Seeing a bunch of hot youths in fancy clothes with matching scooter bikes just does NOT fit the vibe of Tatooine. Also their first scene is complaining about being poor and desperate for water but they're wearing pristine clothes with pristine bikes and droid implants.

I'm not saying we need a whole episode of backstory for these very weird characters but the speed at which they were introduced and then made important was a little too quick. They just stick out like a sore thumb in this world right now.

Most people aren't buying a PS5 for exclusives, they're doing it for better performance. Same reason you'd buy a new graphics card for your computer.

That's fair. The loading times are such an improvement on PS5 that I find it hard to play a lot of games on Switch anymore to be honest.

That's a fair critique and I do think the movie would have been more successful if Tony's gift to Peter wasn't a pair of glasses that lets you drone strike half the population. Like maybe the responsibility he's refusing doesn't need to be SO extreme.

I do think it's easy to forget that so many adults are trusting major problems to a 17 year old when watching these movies. Maybe it's because Tom Holland looks like he's 25 but yes adults in these movies are dumb.

As someone who owns a PS5 the silly thing is that there's barely any exclusive games to even justify a PS5 at this point anyway.

Yeah I was going to add I don't think he really learned the lesson in 2 either considering he immediately tries to magic away his responsibilities again at the start of 3.

Movie 2 is about not wanting to accept the responsibility of replacing Iron Man. He literally gives away Iron Man's glasses (great power) to another superhero so he doesn't have to deal with the responsibility.

The glasses are the most obvious example but he also leaves for vacation without bringing his suit, he avoids Nick Fury, tries to ask if other superheroes can deal with the elementals instead of himself.

Would the movie be better if Strange took 3 minutes to explain the final spell to Peter? Maybe they could have added a quick exchange where Strange confirms it won't affect the other universes or something?

It's easy to hand wave magic in the MCU because you're already hand waving a ton of other stuff as this universe keeps getting more complicated.

It's magic, what's not to get? There's no real life scenario to compare this situation to.

Also maybe the spell DOES fuck with all of the other Peters and that brings them back for a sequel or something. Or maybe it doesn't and we never see them again but probably not worth overthinking the magic dues ex machina.

Did the people making this show really think that the audience would find these Inspector Gadget, Power Ranger, biker gang cool?

We had two separate actions scenes with them in this one episode.

As a Bengals fan I'm glad we have the first playoff game so we can get our guaranteed Playoff Loss out of the way as soon as possible.

Also those spectacle movies permeate so many other aspects of pop culture that you need to see them early to avoid feeling left out or left behind. I mean it's been almost a month and I'm still seeing Spider-Man posts and memes daily.

I think the crowd that's mainly watching mature dramas are okay with waiting a few months to watch those movies at home.

Instead of trying to discuss in the MCU topic I figured I'd just make my own here.

The first episode was whatever but I was really hooked into the second episode. My only critique is that this Tusken Raider storyline feels like it also could have been a regular arc in the Mandalorian show. Both of their main character traits being stoic, quiet, warriors makes this feel a little samey compared to Mando.

Oh and it's also a little weird that Boba Fett is supposed to be like early 40s and he clearly looks like a 60 year old man but that's unavoidable I guess. It's funny to think that Boba Fett is probably only like 5 years older than Din Djarin.

The crime lord stuff is a new wrinkle of course but we've only gotten like 15 minutes of that over the first two episodes so I'm excited to see more of that.

Had an opportunity to try a Quest 2 over the holidays.

VR was neat...as long as I wasn't moving inside the game. So stuff like shooting galleries, Super Hot, and Beat Saber worked well. As soon as there was any movement (being on a roller coaster, moving your character via the controller) my head and stomach were like "oh god...". I imagine it gets better with time, but for the short time I had, movement was a no no.

All of which is to say, I'm still excited by VR but approach it with trepidation.

Something to try next time is putting a fan in your face. The air tricks you into thinking you are moving

I'd recommend watching a youtube video recapping the first 2 games or something that'll set you up with a little bit of lore.

The most confusing thing to me was the different countries and factions that are fighting each other. But honestly the politics is just background stuff so it might not be too important.

Wow I had no idea Arceus was releasing that soon. I'm not big into Pokemon but those latest trailers did not feel like a finished product.

I bought this one and refunded it a few months ago on Steam because it felt clunky and wasn't very fun. Maybe I'll give it another shot now that it's free.

Tried to play FFXV two times and never made it past 3 hours. Finished FFVII Remake and immediately started a 2nd playthrough on hard mode to get the platinum trophy. I NEVER replay games but I enjoyed it so much I didn't want to stop playing.

Arise was my last litmus test on whether or not I actually like this series and I think I decided that I do not. The combat is generally pretty bad, skits are clumsy and ruin pacing, and these games completely fall apart in the final act.

Not really enough information yet to answer those kinds of questions I think. Hopefully it'll be cleared up eventually but I think it's super cool that it's basically a sequel instead of just a plain remake. Time will tell if Nomura can actually make it good or if he'll go full Kingdom Hearts plot on it.

1) start every combat by casting Quen

2) when Quen is broken cast Quen

Yeah I had fun with loop hero for about 15 or 20 hours and it just wasn't fun or engaging enough to keep playing

I was expecting some sort of closure for Tobey and Andrew, especially after Tobey's line that his relationship with MJ is complicated. The fact that we didn't see anything makes me wonder if they're considering future projects with them like an animated show or something.

At the same time it wasn't really their movie so we don't NEED that kind of resolution but I would have appreciated it.

Damn they really should have just delayed this game. Very sad because I don't know if it can recover at this point! Hopefully it does because it's fun

I remember dying a lot in the beginning and then there's a certain point where I just stopped dying. I don't remember if it was a specific ability or what happened but the difficulty completely falls off eventually.

Popping in to say that Blasphemous is $5 on Steam right now. They just released a free update called "Wounds of Eventide" that adds more stuff and finishes the story. This game has a lot of hidden quests, a few alternate endings, and stuff that is a little more obtuse to find compared to most other games in the genre. The combat and platforming are good, not great, but it's definitely worth a playthrough at $5.
