I can understand the idea that lack of representation could have impacted people negatively, but I never got the point of putting that on the character's shoulders. The sterotype of Indian convenience store owner is not a negative one. It's something that exists in abundance in America, overwhelmingly so among convenience stores from what I can see. To say that is negative is to deny reality.

I think there's a problem with turning it into something beyond one of the worst swear words you can say. As with any slur, it shouldn't be casually dropped or used to directly belittle someone in any circumstance, but there should be no issue saying it from an academic perspective, a serious discussion in which self-censorship is silly, or anything else in that area. Yet, it seems some people want to empower the word even more by acting like the very utterance of it the worst thing someone could ever do even in proper context.

It would have been much better had Eren just stuck to his convictions all the way through. His final "it's your freedom to try to stop me" or whatever speech was a great endcap to his character, but instead it was all a ruse and he was actually just being driven insane by his 4th dimensional viewpoint. The final arc was pretty meh overall, but it would have been much better without that backpedaling. It's not like he was wrong in the idea that it was an "us or them" situation. One side would have been eradicated at the end of it regardless.

People operate just fine without using their brains all the time tho! ^.^

besides, what sort of evidence were you imagining?
If souls existed in the way people believe, some kind of feedback one way or the other. When a person suffers major brain damage, they can essentially become a different person, which makes the idea of some external record of yourself seem kind of pointless. Obviously, someone who believes in it can just say it's a completely immaterial thing that'll be sorted out by God.

There is no rational reason to believe one exists. Even if there are mechanics of the universe that we have yet to identify, it's quite clear that an afterlife is simply a pipe dream developed by people who didn't understand the world and still believed by people desperate for meaning. Everything we know about ourselves is tied to our brains, and there isn't a shred of evidence pointing to anything beyond that.

It does fit the description of "more mature," even if the game itself doesn't reach that level. Acknowledging more realistic things like the possibility of death outside of meme Pokedex entries at least brings a bit more weight to it, even if it ultimately just amounts to more flavor text. I don't think anyone wants some edgy shit, but most people would probably like something that doesn't cater exclusively to five year olds. You can have an all ages story that has a more realistic tone.

Didn't bother. The local theaters have shitty small screens, so they're only worth going to if you have multiple people and want to eat dinner while watching a movie. The closest IMAX (which was already decently far) closed down, so it's like an hour and a half drive if you want to see anything in good quality. Definitely not currently worth it.

If FTL travel doesn't exist, the only way for distant space travel would either be self-sufficient colony ships or extremely advanced cryostasis. If that's the case, they have bigger worries than spying on barely developed planets, not even counting the distance would make it impossible for them to find us.

If FTL travel does exist, they're likely just too far away even with that mobility. If the closest life is a billion lightyears away, then there'd be no way any trace of them would ever reach us.

Not a bad idea in a vacuum. Having the resources to review how and what your kids have been learning is perfectly fine. Having replayed some of it through the Switch compilation, it really doesn't hold up that well. Despite a lot of the criticism of Odyssey, a good majority of the stars are basic shit you could easily complete in half the time if not for needing to reload the levels. The levels feel kind of lifeless at times. The graphics definitely don't stand the test of time, but that can be slightly forgiven due to it being a launch title. The game is buggy as shit. I'd say the movement system is probably the one thing you can't really criticize.

Feeling positive feelings upon seeing a shitty person being hurt is certainly fine, but directly advocating for violence/vigilantism is generally just not a good idea. All the clarification of "this one was actually a shitbag at a rally advocating for X" is ultimately moot in the wider scope that normalized violence will hurt innocent people at some point.
