Anyone here watch the special? I finished it recently. What were your thoughts?

At one point, he talked about a person called DaBaby, who I haven't heard of. One of the things he asked was why it was more acceptable for a person to commit murder than insult the LGBTQ+ community. I don't know anything about the DaBaby situation though.

Another thing he talked about that he didn't like is that the LGBTQ+ community is a minority group, until they don't need to be. He specifically used weaponizing the police as an example (another gender vs race thing). I don't recall ever hearing something like this happening, but I guess it is possible. He probably could've provided more examples.

He talked about the North Carolina law requiring people to use the bathroom designated for them based on their birth certificate. Someone cheered for the law and he shut it down saying it was an awful law. He went into two scenarios about him using a urinal with a transgender next to him. I can't recall his first reaction/response in the scenario though. I'd have to go back and watch again.

He talked about tribalism and not liking the "new" LGBTQ+, preferring the OG LGBTQ+. He did say the "new" ones were sensitive and extreme. That's when he gets to the part people are outraged about, I think. Even with his examples, I didn't really get it.

I forget how it started, but he talked about how he spoke with a mother, whose daughter l, Daphne, was in show business (he had a whole bit about the Harvey Weinstein stuff before this and tied it in here). She asked him if he wanted to see a picture of her. He said yes because the conversation had been polite. When he saw the picture, he wondered if she knew who he was and if this was a trap, but with how the conversation was going and not wanting to be mean, he said her daughter was beautiful. The mother revealed she did know who he was and that her daughter was trans.

He somehow met Daphne later at a party. They got to know each other. At one point, she expressed she wanted to be a comedian. Some time later, he had a show in SF and asked her to be his opening act. Little did he know that she'd only ever done 8 shows before that. And she completely bombed for 45 minutes.

Daphne then took a seat in the front row and talked to him as if he weren't in the middle of an act (the crowd was annoyed with her). Someone in the crowd got angry with her and made a mean comment towards ger. She retorted with an incredible comeback and Dave decided to drop the act and just talk with her back and forth. He didn't go into detail about what was said at the show, but said he asked her things he felt he wouldn't be able to ask trans people ordinarily. He concluded that show by telling Daphne that he didn't understand her. She told him she didn't need him to understand her, only that he believe she is having a human experience.

Later in the week, Dave was being "dragged" through Twitter and Daphne defended him. At which point, she was dragged through Twitter.

It'd been 6 days since the show and Dave got the news that Daphne killed herself. He was furious/heartbroken about it and felt like the LGBTQ+ community threw her out of their tribe for disagreeing with them. He said it didn't matter if she were a part of the LGBTQ+ community or not because she was a part of his community. He concluded the show with empathy not being only for people of your gender or race.

Overall, I think the special was okay. Definitely need to watch the others before watching this one, as he makes a lot of throwback references. I do think he could have elaborated on some of his points/questions more.

I beat the first one last night. I like the game, but I'm not sure I'll like the other ones.

I know one is a prequel where you play as Chloe and the others are not related at all? I'm curious about the prequel, but I don't want it to ruin the first one for me.

I'm not very good at the game, but I use the first few days to explore the island and get a location on important features (beefalo, pig king, etc.). Live off of the land for a bit and then pick a good spot that's central to important features. Obviously, pick up materials as you're walking around.

I like the moles as a food source. You can dig a bunch of them out and plant them near your base for easy meat farming. I'm no good at fighting, so I generally avoid that if I can unless I have armor and weapons.

The climb is much different from the original. The environment is pretty bland. It's very linear and as long as you have a good sense of direction, it should be fine.

I don't have him yet, so I can't say too much. He's missing a lot of staple tanking effects though, like guard, self-sustain, or denying follow-ups.

Thanks for the input! I did a "quick" run through of each console I own and wrote down some games that sprang to mind immediately. I managed to reach 97, though Pokemon is on there several times. I can probably name a couple more. Ranking the games will be the hard part!
