The Ghislaine Maxwell trial starts today.

Yes but you won't hear much about it. This trial isn't being broadcasted at all and I feel like most outlets won't be discussing it much at all.

Of course, this trial should absolutely be broadcasted, and the first notable thing I've seen is Maxwell's lawyer in the opening statement claiming that the victims of child trafficking were just actors lying.

So that's really the best they have to offer in defense, so I don't foresee a solid defense on this.

Hey all. I've never built or upgraded my PC before, so I honestly don't know where to start. But I'm feeling like I ought to upgrade my RAM. I'm waiting around until tomorrow to see if there's any good Cyber Monday sales for it.

But right now I'm sitting on 8GB of RAM, and I think I'll want at least 16 GB?

Are there other more important upgrades I might want? Or anything else that might be worth looking into? And from what I understand it's decently easy to install. I have an Asus, and they're supposed to make it easy for even an idiot like me.

He said he didn't know the people in the bar where that picture was taken were Proud Boys and he said if he knew, he wouldn't have gone. He said his former attorneys, Lin Wood and John Pierce, were the ones who set it up.

Rittenhouse: Thats a good question. I didnt know that the OK hand sign was a symbol for white supremacy, just as I didnt know that those people in the bar were Proud Boys. They were set up by my former attorney, who was fired because of that, for putting me in situations like that, with people I dont agree with, by having them set up for security without telling us their background. And if I would have known they were Proud Boys, I would have said absolutely not.

I watched the Tucker Carlson interview with my family last night. I'm not a fan of him but it was a significant enough event that I wanted to see what was said.

To me, Tucker's fluffy posturing was apparent, but honestly? I didn't think he was too bad during it, though maybe I was just tuning him out and looking forward to the next time Kyle would speak.

One thing that struck me which I wasn't sure about and haven't gone back to the trial to check - but didn't Rittenhouse say on the stand that he didn't directly hear the Car Source owners invite the help? But on Carlson he definitely implied that they asked him to help. I was a little surprised to see no mention of that anywhere so maybe I'm missing some info.

The Car Source people asked a bunch of them to help. Like they had talked about helping before that night, and then they asked that Nick guy, Kyle's friend, to gather people to help "seeing what they can do about paying them" and then they were palling around and chatting it up with Kyle and posing for pictures and giving them the keys to the place and showing them around in case they needed to get to the roof or needed to put out fires and stuff.

So. They basically did everything but specifically look at Kyle and say "We want YOU to help."

But in his case, who else would he possibly trust in the mainstream media to give him a fair interview? Do you think CNN or MSNBC would? FOX was shockingly the most fair to him in the trial (even though they were still their special brand of assholes about the left).

Also, if he's going to be pressing charges and demanding retractions against other mainstream media outlets, he doesn't have a lot of options.

Deets from the Rittenhouse interview with Tucker.

• Was surprisingly calm during it. Super impressive, honestly.
• Kyle's mom said he should go in hiding but Kyle says he didn't need to because he defended himself and needed to turn himself in. Says he's thankful there was video to prove it.
• Says people took advantage of BLM to riot. Maintains he still supports BLM and peaceful protesting (this isn't any different from when he said it on video with McGinnis the night it happened), and that he's not a racist person and doesn't understand why people are making this all about race.
• He said his jail cell was like a one star hotel. Said the security guards took care of him and he appreciated that. Says he wasn't well liked at first there until he told his story. Also says he had no idea what was being said about him or the situation while he was there.
• Lin Wood and John Pierce are absolute fucking pricks. They kept him in jail for 87 days because they said it was safer for him there, even though they could pay bail almost immediately. Says they pocketed the money raised themselves. They went with Richards because they were fucking assholes.
• He didn't mention this, but I think that Lin Wood and John Pierce are probably the reason why he was doing shit with the Proud Boys, since they funded a lot of his bail. Everything from Richards and Kyle indicates they wanted to use him as a cause, but it doesn't seem like Kyle ever wanted that. Especially since shortly after that was when Lin Wood and John Pierce got ejected from their involvement.
• Thinks there needs to be a change in prosecution misconduct so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
• Says he considers this not a trial for him but a trial for the right for self defense.
• Calls out Biden and tells him he should watch the trial before calling him a white supremacist.
• He says he has lawyers looking to make some media accountable for what the lies they spread. (Some have already done some about face corrections already)
• Says he wants to live a quiet life from here and go to college to become a nurse, but might become a lawyer. He says his life is defamed now and he can't go anywhere without protection and doesn't trust the FBI or any government agency to help him.
• Says he's sick of the left and right using him and the situation to push their causes.

He came across as very sincere. If he wanted to "appeal" to the right wing nutjobs and Proud Boys, I doubt he would have gone in this direction. He seems like he's just an idiot kid in a terrible situation, and he's ready to move on after he gets his story out there. Surprised that FOX kept in stuff that wasn't right opinions, honestly. Probably knew better since he said he was ready to sue.

Worth a watch if anyone is interested.

There's criticism now for how low his bail was after being arrested for such violent crimes. I believe it was only $1,000. Apparently, it wasn't supposed to be that low and an internal review is in progress.

As if anyone needed a reminder of how much a joke the criminal justice system is.

I don't know as much about bail but I know it's a serious issue.

It's usually discussed as being too expensive for people who aren't wealthy to afford, but you have issues like this where people play fast and loose with the rules. The issue is that it's usually subjective, and up to the DA's office. And it's not as easy as finding a way to make them have more static amounts and requires a major undertaking to improve.

So it'll be another thing that will never improve. Nihilism!

If you want to watch some really damning stuff from the Prosecutors, watch the Nathan DeBruin direct and cross examination. Just completely exposed that they tried to get him to change his statement to help their case and that this wasn't a fair trial by any means.

It just shows they were trying to make a career off of trying to put Kyle in prison for life when they knew he was innocent of the charges from the investigation phase, and did everything they could to withhold information and keep key witnesses (both Zaminiski's) from appearing. Not to mention they outright lied in the opening statement that Kyle was chasing Rosenbaum and that video evidence would show that.

Prosecutors are not good people. They're supposed to seek the truth in a criminal trial to make sure our law system is fair, and they do anything but. It should be frankly alarming that the Prosecution did everything they did on live TV and the media isn't saying a god damn word about it. Because this is what they do constantly when cameras aren't tuned on them, just to a lesser degree because they aren't as desperate to win a case like this.

Also worth noting that in all of the video footage that night and from the exhaustive witness testimony there, not a single person said that Kyle instigated anything or attempted to start any trouble and was just walking around like a dope asking if anyone needed medical assistance.

It never should have gone to trial, the Prosecution knew this and tried to rig the investigation and omit facts, and then they went to trial anyway and used every dirty trick in the book to try to get a conviction based on lies and blurry still images they spent 20 hours making. And they are likely to get very serious bar complaints leveled at them now since it was declared a mistrial after the verdict.

Fox News was legitimately the only major news outlet doing any sort of accurate reporting on this trial that I could tell. That fact hurts me quite a bit. It was the easiest reporting they ever had to do because they didn't have to put some grifting spin on it.

Details from the Defense attorney Mark Richards' interview:

- They did mock trials and the one where they had Kyle on the stand had a significantly better result. I guess I can't knock them for putting him on then.
- Is very disgusted by Binger's actions, and says he never thought he would stoop so low after doing so many cases with him before. Particularly pointed to him putting the Indian brothers who ran the car lot for clearly lying and still allowing them to testify.
- Kyle's first attorneys wanted Kyle to be a cause, and Richards says he doesn't think Kyle wants to be anything like that, which is why he represented him.
- He said that everything they argued about that drone footage that appeared out of nowhere was an outright lie.
- Says Kyle has PTSD and doesn't sleep at night, and that they couldn't discuss certain things when prepping him for testimony because he would break down. Says you can't fake his breakdown.
- Kyle has had 24 hour security and plans to move away from here.
- Richards says that he stopped answering his phone at his office when he got his third death threat.
- Kyle plans to become a nurse.
- Apparently 3 of the 6 jurors who were alternates were the strongest ones they thought would vote to acquit.
- "What do you say to the politicians in Wisconsin who claim that Kyle was out there to be a vigilante?" "That maybe they should have watched the trial."
- He thinks the Jury deliberated quite a bit to come to their decision, and he could feel how tense it was with them yesterday when they asked to leave early.

He didn't illegally cross state lines. Yeah, he drove without a driver's license but he wasn't on trial for that. It doesn't affect your assertion, but you're acting like he traveled this long distance JUST to be there and he wasn't. Gaige Grosskreutz for instance drove four times the distance Rittenhouse did JUST to be there, provide no medical help, with a gun he was actually illegally carrying, and he tried to chase down and shoot a kid in the head.

Dude he was there that morning doing his job. And then he hung out with his best friend who lives there. And then he stayed and was there that night because a pair of morons asked him to watch over their car lot.

And who even cares if he crossed borders? What difference does that make? You can spit on where he lives from Kenosha. I used to live in Wheeling, West Virginia where I was a 2 minute drive from Ohio and 12 minutes away from Pennsylvania. And I had friends in both states. Would you make a big deal of me crossing state lines if I drove 2 minutes to Ohio?

I think you assuming he was waiting around for someone to kill him so he could shoot people is extremely wrong. His actions that night do not show he was looking for trouble or anything or to use his gun at all. If he wanted to instigate anything, he had many, many, many times he could have escalated the situation. His actions align with him using the gun as a deterrent in a very dangerous place where everyone was armed, after he was invited to watch over that car lot. He didn't cross state lines or any of that nonsense.

Yes, he shouldn't have been there at the protests and riots that night, but nobody should have been. And nobody should have been there trying to kill anyone either. Rosenbaum did want to kill someone. The other people there were using force that could have crippled Rittenhouse. And Grosskreutz fakes a surrender to try shooting him while he was on the ground.

The only thing I would change with the laws are any open carry gun laws. I wouldn't want anyone else to be in this sort of situation and go to jail for defending themselves like this.

I don't think the prosecution should be able to decide they are losing, and then commit misconduct to trigger a mistrial without prejudice. From what I've been gathering from this topic, the judge could wait for a verdict and then grant the motion for mistrial if it was a guilty verdict (since it would be based on prosecution misconduct).

This is also true. I think the Judge would have to grant the mistrial if he was found guilty on any accounts. I don't think any of the Prosecution's conduct was to purposefully trigger a mistrial though.

Binger and Kraus are VERY lucky at this point that they don't have to get on the stand and answer many questions about their investigation and acquisition of evidence.

I'm so happy for this play by play because I would be completely in the dark about the reality of this trial otherwise. Absolutely NOBODY talking about the horrible prosecution, no dissent on the corruption narrative at all.

Ayyyy I don't have much else to say. It was the 100% correct result.

Mounting evidence has been slowly appearing showing the Prosecution withheld and disregarded evidence that showed that this case never should have gone to trial. The Prosecution is fortunate they weren't put on the stand about their evidentiary issues that could have landed them in deep trouble. I anticipate Kyle might be able to sue the state for all of this though, and he would be right to, since his civil rights were grossly violated.

If anyone can take away something from this, I want them to understand that the Prosecution system is corrupt. These sort of things happen to low profile cases to people of any race, political alignment, etc. all the time.

But congratulations to Judge Shroeder who was able to escape this without calling it a mistrial like he should have done many days ago.

Still no verdict in Rittenhouse trial

Nothing of note aside from this MSNBC thing, but the Judge inexplicably told the jurors they could take the Jury Instructions home. What the fuck why?

Someone else could see them, they could share it with a friend or family member, they could start just researching and talking about it online.

The Defense was like "Uh no, because they can start trying to define things themselves" and the Judge is like "Yeah, but they can do that anyway!" JUDGE. THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO. THAT'S THE POINT.

I cannot understand this. The point is to deliberate it with other jurors. This Judge is out to lunch entirely. He just wants this to end and for him to have to not make a single ruling.

For what it's worth, I don't think MSNBC was being malicious, just grossly stupid. Court TV says in many cases this actually happens... but this case is far different. They've gone to such lengths to hide the identities of these people because they are getting death threats and are afraid for their lives if people find out who they are.

And then this reporter, even if he wants to dopily ask "Hey can I get an interview after this?" What are they going to think? They were promised their identities would be secure, they're afraid, and then what if they don't say yes? Even if MSNBC keeps their identities secret, this is still tampering due to the circumstances around it.

So even if it's grossly stupid, they should be punished for it because this is really, really bad.
