Sorry for the triple post, but I think Shaman's issue in particular is that he sorta intentionally made himself the face of the insurrection, and so they were always going to make an example out of him. I don't agree with it and I don't agree with the punishment, but his decisions are ultimately what lead to this.

Like, I don't necessarily disagree with the anti-prison stance, but trying to paint them as innocent protestors that just happened to get a little too riled up seems silly when many of them marched to the Capitol with every intention of breaking in and being violent, even if they didn't have an actual plan for what to do when they got there.

Considering how the mob acted once there with attacking police and the like, do you honestly believe that had they actually caught up to a politician they didn't like, they would have just immediately stopped and went, "Sir or Madame, we have grievances we would like to air?"

Actually, I do need to clarify what I said, somewhat.

When I say the defense doesnt need to prove self defense, thats not entirely true. They obviously need to argue that case and present any collaborating evidence, even if its just testimony, but they do NOT need to prove said self defense beyond a reasonable doubt. Its still on the prosecution to prove beyond a reasonable doubt why it wasnt self defense. In the case in question, the jury was apparently instructed that it was the defense that had to prove self defense beyond a reasonable doubt, and thats not how it is supposed to be at all.

I agree that his analysis of the trial has been very interesting to read, but I also do see how it feels like he's defending Rittenhouse kinda oddly.

If Biscuit relates with anybody for any reason whatsoever, he tends to go kinda hard on defending them, even if he doesn't necessarily mean to. He defended Richard Spencer over the whole being confronted at a gym thing in a "Dude just wanted to do his workout" because he connected over that part and it made him kinda gloss over that Richard Spencer is a piece of shit.

I don't think he necessarily means to, and I certainly don't think it means he agrees with those people on other things, it's just a trend I noticed.

Frankly, what this tells us, if anything, is that ILCA or whoever are more efficient coders than Gamefreak. It makes sense, though. This is the kind of thing you want to do in mobile development. Its dumb to waste time and resources to make both an iOS codebase and an Android codebase when you can use a language that allows you to release both an iOS version and an Android version from the same single codebase.

Gengar did not make top 30, though Sableye was #3, so I have no idea what to make of it. Also of note, Greninja finished first in the one referenced in this topic previously, and 16th in the Japan poll.

Ive been playing since the beginning and I really dont remember any of the Gen 1 starters getting any kind of hate back in the day at all. Hell, most of Bulbasaurs big love comes from older fans/genwunner types because of the anime, where it hasnt been relevant in a good while.

You havent actually given a reason why Bulbasaur wouldnt be in the conversation other than trust me, people used to dislike it, which is an opinion that doesnt seem to have much to back it up, and certainly doesnt mesh with polls and the like.

I dunno, the Bulbasaur is the hated starter still feels like a citation needed kind of thing. Like, its true that the poll only accounts for favorite votes and not hate, but the fact remains that Bulbasaur got more favorite votes than any Gen 1 Pokes other than Charizard and Gengar, and it was very close to Gengar. So while you cant necessarily draw a conclusion on its hate based on that, you can certainly draw conclusions on its popularity. Bulbasaur is very popular, moreso than Squirtle, and doesnt suffer from the shoved into literally everything hinderance like Charizard.

By pure popularity, Charizard wins, but Ive definitely seen hate for Charizard, like when it was the only starter to get two Megas, and its focus in SwSh over the others, etc., whereas I dont think Ive seen actual vocal hate over Bulbasaur.

On the other hand, there were two other accidental discharges of live ammunition before the fatal one, so itd explain how live ammo kept getting into the guns.

Edit: I guess those havent yet been confirmed to be live ammo incidents, but it sure sounds likely.
