Bleach does filler a little differently compared to Naruto or one piece. Naruto got caught up and then spent 200 episodes on random filler. One Piece just slowed each episode down until it was covering about a chapter per episode. Bleach dedicates entire arcs to filler plots that have a clear beginning, middle, and end. They're honestly not the worst thing in the world if you're just going to be watching the series, but if you really want to skip them you just have to look for specific arcs.

Interesting. The 2016 update to the original 2014 game let you keep all your old tracks, so I'll be curious to see whether this new version lets you carry your library forward or whether Ubisoft is attempting to double dip by making you re-buy all your old tracks.

There's a game called Rocksmith that came out in 2016 which is basically guitar hero with a real guitar. The game itself is no longer receiving official updates but there's a modding community that is still somewhat regularly putting out new tracks.

To be fair, if the ending was wildly successful he'd probably be starring in some kind of Tyrion themed spinoff prequel where he spend every episode drinking, sleeping with women, and being snarky. I would have been perfectly fine if he responded to the question by pointing out that they weren't really trying to make a GTA clone and while police chases could certainly add immersion they didn't want the player spending half of their time running from police after accidentally bumping into a car.

The reason we got, though, is a master class in the worst way to respond to that kind of criticism.

They should put their money where their mouth is and do a Christmas morning live stream on zoom so that the whole world can see that each of them is spending the holiday alone and not with friends and family like we all know they're going to do anyway.

Meanwhile, Shaquille O'Neal apparently spends every Christmas season wandering into random department stores and paying off gifts that are on layaway.

We need to spend more time lionizing athletes that use their wealth and fame for good causes and less jackasses like this that are high on their own stat sheet.

Northeastern University professor Nick Beauchamp decided to try to find out. Beauchamp, who specializes in natural-language processing and machine learning, used a scraping tool to pull reviews from the top three Yankee Candles that included the words "no smell" or "no scent." The pattern he found almost eerily resembles the current COVID-19 surge.

Most likely would have been in the past few years. I'm more familiar with terms like neurodivergent or neurotypical which have been in common use for a lot longer.

I like it but yeah this always happens with Playstation. Something is always hyped up before and at launch and nobody cares about after the first few months.

It happens with every controller gimmick because developers don't mess with it if they have any aspirations of being cross-platform.

Nintendo "fixes" this issue by blowing off third party devs so anyone who bothers takes full advantage of the features their controllers offer. Even then, the switch's "rumble so good it's like holding a box of ball bearings" is barely used to full extent.

PS1 is probably the best dpad ever. PS2 and PS3 dpads are also good. If you play fighting games for hours on a controller instead of a stick they don't mess up your fingers.

It's specifically fighting games that cause me to call their dpads bad. They're just terrible for any kind of input more complex than "direction + button", especially compared to dpads from other consoles that aren't Nintendo. Trying to instant air canon strike as Cammy, or throw out a barrage of QCF style moves in MvC, or pretty much any complex special in Guilty Gear, KoF, or SamSho is just an exercise in frustration.

No, they're just applying maximum pressure to try and get NATO to back off. They recently released a set of demands towards Europe and the US that would have to be met for them to pull their military from the border and it included a guarantee that NATO would never have a presence in the Eastern block and also that Russia would get a veto on which nations would be able to join NATO.

There's no real practical benefit to them invading ukraine, but there is a practical benefit to them ratcheting tensions up so high that Europe blinks and withdrawals into itself.

Imagine being so edgy that you decide to go into a Barnes & Noble and move the Bible to another section and then not even putting it in a valid section.

You've already seen that, though. The covid relief bill was twice as big as the biggest stimulus that had ever been passed in the history of the country. The biggest one before that was Obama's $800 billion investment bill. The roughly 1 trillion dollar infrastructure bill that was recently passed sits roughly in between but I'm not counting it because it isn't a relief bill.

Unless you address the underlying causes, throwing bigger and bigger checks at people isn't going to fix anything. We need to stop thinking that the solution to these problems is to pass an unbelievably large bill that just throws money at people once so we can pat ourselves on the back. It's highly destructive and actively making things worse.

Double masking may have been cool, but it will never be 17 popped collars cool.

Student loan forgiveness that isn't explicitly tied to legislation to address the underlying causes is just a giant waste of everybody's time. At best you've picked an arbitrary slice of the population to give free money to and then the very next year there will be a whole new contingent of people with loans that are just as big. At worst it does that, but also scuttles any attempt to actually deal with University costs for another decade or more as people push back on bills using the excuse that they already paid people.

I played House of the Dead the most, but I had to vote revolution x for the sheer absurdity of that game.

Yeah, it feels like almost every character so far has something or many things incredibly strong or borderline busted in their kits aside from maybe Dragon Knight. Even with Dragon Knight, I think she just requires a lot more work to use effectively than the other characters.

Granted, this was a surprisingly early network test so I have to imagine there's still quite a bit of balancing to do and hopefully the unexpectedly large crowd they got this weekend generated enough data for them to do just that.

Concordantly means "agreeing with/harmoniously." Is sometimes used in technical jargon that later extends beyond the technical bounds.

Vis-a-vis is literally "face to face." It can be a noun, like a "face to face meeting," or preposition meaning "in relation to."

A lot of these words are used often used incorrectly leading to your confusion.

TC is quoting an old SNL skit where Will Ferrell plays the architect from The Matrix.

It's the universal symbol for quantification, which roughly translates to "for all"

It's not wrong to want to take measures to protect from the virus, but it may be counterproductive to want another lockdown specifically.

With a better understanding of the virus, signs pointing towards omicron being more mild, and a significant part of the population that is either vaccinated or have already received covid, another lockdown may end up just being a lot of damage for very little gain.

The BBC wrote an article on this. Keep in mind that it's going to be very UK specific, but given that they're one of the hot spots for omicron right now it does act as a sort of preview as to what this might look like in the US over winter.
