I also found the original 12 really boring to play, but TZA improves it to the degree its actually quite good. It still has other problems like the story being kinda bland and such but the gameplay isn't boring anymore IMO. That said I still don't think its better than 10 or most of the older FFs. But I wouldn't consider it bad anymore. Just the original. How does it improve on the original, gameplay-wise? My main gripe about the gameplay (as far as I remember) was just it was quite awkward to play with all the ATB waiting with the enemies being on screen all the time. And the gambit system played the game on its own but was meddlesome and slow to set up due to needing to purchase the good gambits. --- Into the woods, but mind the past... It was quite good though I don't love Adam's vocals. It's a good moment of self-realization and empowerment for Barbara, but the song itself is just alright. It's kinda too generic I suppose? There are no surprises nor standout moments. Wouldn't mind listening again but not something I'd put in my playlist. Mass Effect 2 - I Am the Very Model of a Scientist Salarian 5.5/10 Respect to him for keeping Gilbert and Sullivan alive even in...2050 AD or whenever the games are set (never played them!). And him changing the lyrics to his actual job is something that I'm quite confident the actual G&S would approve. But well, it's a very truncated version, it's not sung as fast as could be, and there was a weird pause between the first and second verse for some reason? But the main thing holding it back for me is there's just no accompaniment! G&S music is just so important to the songs themselves. Rocketman - Saturday Night's Alright 6.5/10 I haven't actually watched this movie either. Is that the kid from Moonrise Kingdom? No wait, he would be older than that by now. Is he the kid from Jojo Rabbit? Googles Oh actually it's a newcomer I think. Huh. See, the thing with jukebox musicals is that the songs don't usually really work seamlessly because it was written not for a story? Well, I suppose ideally I should judge jukebox musicals as their own thing, but I have not reached that level of enlightenment yet. Well, the song itself is alright. Not really my kinda jam in itself, but it's okay. The scene is pretty fun to watch but it's a bit dimly lit for some reason? Raka_Putra 09/27/21 12:09:49 PM #5	Futurama - Opera 6/10 Quite amusing and I can tell it's written with some love for the genre. It's great they packed so much into, like, 3 minutes. But the lyrics and rhyming got kinda wonky at places and the melodies were rather generic and forgettable. And the vocal performances were just...decent. --- Into the woods, but mind the past... If there's a video of the performance, I'll take that into account as well but if not I'll just judge the song 4. If it originates from a musical and is sung by a character(s), it definitely counts. If it comes from a musical episode, segment, or parody in a usually non-musical media, that counts (like See My Vest from the Simpsons). If it's actually part of a performance in-story and it doesn't relate to the character's own story/thoughts/feelings, I reserve the right to deduct points or discount it. --- Into the woods, but mind the past... Still, where is that harmonica coming from?? A choir? What? I'd expect riffs like this, and from the second song, from Planet X, not a Webber Jesus musical and WOW IT'S THE SAME DRUMEMR! What the fuck!? Tell me what's happening!! I love leitmotifs. I, however, don't really love how plays tend to use them. Interposing fragments of old songs more-or-less verbatim into later tracks seems a really unnecessarily heavy-handed way to include them, particularly for media where the music is the focus. If videogames, where the music is much more incidental to most players, can pull off subtler melody insertions, I'd hope viewers of musicals would be able to handle it too. The album was very enjoyable, probably one of the better musicals I've heard. Yet it's also just another one of the musicals I've heard. I feel a shortcoming in having a "genre" so dominated at one end by so few names makes self-consistent in a vaguely off-putting way. It loses some originality points by being something I could've been fooled into thinking I'd heard five times before. Compare with the Incubus album, which was a pretty unique synthesis of individual elements I felt familiar with. As a non-Christian, hearing the story presented this way... god it sounds so stupid. I never realized that DS9 ripped off a scene from the bible so blatantly Score: jesus/buddha Favorite song: Trial Before Pilate Glad you liked it! I wasn't aware you were doing the rankings in this topic but glad I saw it. I get your point about it sounding familiar since it is ALW's work, though OTOH I nominated it because I find it one of the musical albums that can relatively be enjoyed from the music alone. And the orchestration is quite...err, rich? rock-ish? Than the usual fare, so to me personally it's actually a standout musical album compared to others. Also, I Googled and it seems DS9 in Deep Space Nine? What scenes did they take from the Bible? --- Into the woods, but mind the past... Into the woods, but mind the future!

I got the Supreme Vege with Feta Cheese (Greek Feta Cheese, Green Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes and Olives) and added Pepperoni and Blue Cheese for the heck of it. It's definitely something I'd rather have at the store. It got a bit mushy otw here (yay humid Malaysian weather). The flavour was pretty good but so... much... cheese... and... sauce. 10/10 prefer thin crust but it was an experience. I also got like a free stromboli. Never had that before either. So much... CHEESE. ... and the salad I got had cheese as well... ... I'm gonna go on a cheese break for at least 2 months. Man I'm jealous. I love cheese! --- Into the woods, but mind the past... Raka_Putra 09/12/21 1:12:30 PM #36	Durian has a strong smell, yes, but depends on the variety it can smell like strong alcohol, overpowering fruity/floral notes, and some people describe it as onion (I don't see it personally). But it's not actually that bad IMO. And if it's a good durian the smell is totally worth it. Sweet, rich, and custardy... --- Into the woods, but mind the past... Into the woods, but mind the future!
