Interesting, though I do like the final product more.

This version has Anakin much more in control of the fight, setting the pace, driving obi wan back constantly. While there is some of that in the final version, there's much more interesting back and forth in the swordplay, rather than Anakon just constantly advancing like a frickin terminator.

Started 2021 at a shitty call center tech support job. Job hopped to a tech writer role, slight pay bump. Well worth it; never going back to the phones ever again.

Then got promoted 6 months later into a much more technical role. Unfortunately, while that came with a raise, my company is MAJORLY undercutting what the role is actually worth. So, I'm in the market, again.

Sucks, because I quite like my manager and the people I work with. But I have a life to lead, and can't afford to be held back by penny-pinching HR bullshit

I've tried to get I to it many times, but I just can't shake the feeling of... the pointlessness of it all.

I dunno. Just the knowledge that there's never gonna be an end to it, and that every single major arc is gonna end with the characters splitting and the protag getting slapped with a big ol' reset button over and over just really blocks me from getting invested.

I mean, visually, it's super bland and uninteresting. I mean, could they have gone for a more muted color? Looking at the smaller picture on mobile, I legit thought she was wearing stealth ops uniform straight out of MGS, for a second. It's fucking Disney animation; where's the color?

And yes, when it comes to iconic animated characters, a recognizable silhouette can be a very powerful thing. Sounds dumb and pedantic, but that's just how our brains are wired. And this... is not a recognizable silhouette. That doesn't mean the look should never be changed; but you've gotta be more interesting than this.

That said, still a ton of hubbub over a whole lot of nothing. Seriously. who even cares?

That was likely the intention, but as mentioned, in English this resulted in the word "arse" being used when saying it out loud, so they changed it after Battle Revolution (in which Arceus wasn't legally obtainable until his movie to begin with) to a hard-C.
I would argue it was never intended to rhyme with Zeus.

the "eus" is MUCH more likely to derive from "Deus," meaning god. Not Zeus, who is just one god of many, king though he may be, and has almost nothing in common with Arceus in terms of role. Arceus has no particular affinity for lightning (beyond one plate of many), and Zeus isn't even a creator god.

There's basically no connection to Zeus whatsoever.

The gross majority of college professors don't give a shit about teaching.

They are there to either do their research, or otherwise have the university fund their work.

The "teaching" is just the tradeoff they put up with to get the funding. Hence, it gets the bare minimum they can get away with. Pawn off work on TAs (who equally have a ron of other shit to be getting on with), stand at a podium and read the book they wrote, grade arbitrarily hard to make it look "rigorous," Office hours from 6AM to 7AM Tuesday, by appointment only, may or may not check email.

Keep your supply of all the elemental dampeners stocked up. Make sure you learn what bosses do after they "gather magatsuhi," and stop that move dead. Anything that hits on that next turn will crit, and you're very liable to be wiped. Best to neutralize it if you can, and dampeners are great for it, especially early on.

Bosses are WAY more spongey than they've ever been. Do NOT try to blitz them, and do NOT go for ballsy power plays. Their little sliver of health is ALWAYS more than you expected. SMTV boss battles are a slow game; the safe move is almost always the better option.

She is quote notably anti-men in many respects. It shows in her work quite a bit, and much of her clarification about plot points alludes to it. This, naturally, extends to her views on Trans women.

It's important to note that she has a history of being sexually abused. I won't go into the details here, and it in no way justifies her stances. But it is important to recognize that her views didn't just appear out of the ether. There is nasty history, there.

She has very apparent qualms with the quality of male character, by nature. When describing *spoilers for Harry Potter (whole series) ahead* why James' death didn't grant lily or Harry any protection, despite facing Voldemort unarmed just like Lily did, she went on record sayingthat James' sacrifice was more akin to "animal instinct" than real love; that there is nothing even comparable to what a mother has. This is reflected further in the series, ad the further we get in the books, the more James is trashedand forgotten, and the more Lily is practically deified by everyone who talks about her.

What's more every male character gets steadily less reliable and more flawed, while her female characters... don't. Ron gets more jealous, angry, and distant, while Hermione's biggest struggle remains "being so good at everything that she's afraid to fail." McGonoggal is a near-perfect role model, while every male teacher systematically fails. In the last book, Even Lupin suddenly has some totally-out-of-character "crisis" where he tries to run out on his pregnant wife for absolutely no reason.Sirius gets ripped down as a terrible slave-abuser and bully right before and after his death. Dumbledore gets a ton of time dedicated to how secretly awful he was.

While it's not universal (Hagrid, notably), her male characters are notably much more flawed and unreliable than their female counterparts. they're mentally weaker, more temperamental, and whenever there is a conflict between the two, the guy is the one flying off the handle and in the wrong. TBH it's a miracle that Harry ended up being the protagonist at all.

I dont say any of this to try to diminish feminism, or say "durr, how DARE she make the men worse than the women!!!1!" That's not the point. All I'm saying is that her writing TENDS to skew in portraying male authority figures in a worse light; which makes sense, given her history.

That said, those tendencies spill into her view on Trans issues. Because she views Trans women as basically "men playing dress up," she assumes that absolute worst case. She assumes that same level of flaw, weakness, temperamentalism, and "animal instinct." She sees trans women as predator sleeper agents, because that's the only reason a "man" would want to be a woman.

It's incredibly fucked up, but her stances have been there from the start, for anyone who cares to look. She has a very low opinion of men, and as far as she's concerned, trans women are men.

This isn't a "reset" necessarily, it doesn't just put everything back to normal, with normal being "no one knows who Spider-man is and things are back to normal". Yes, his identity is hidden again, but at the cost of losing his best friends and all of his allies. This actually puts him into a different phase than we've seen in the MCU, where he can't rely on Stark tech, he doesn't have friends, and due to the events of the movie he doesn't have Aunt May either. To say this is a reset as if everything is undone and things are back to normal is just incorrect.
I wasn't talking about Peter himself. I AM talking about his friends. MJ especially.

Took three movies for her to grow out of being an insufferable Daria knock-off, and now we're right back to square one.

Yeah, it's an interesting predicament for PETER (and yes, I get that it's first and foremost his story), but I hate when shit like this happens in any context.

It's why I hate everything IW/Endgame did to Loki, Gamora, and Thor. Busted excuses to just "reboot" characters because the writers couldn't figure out how to deal with their character growth and changed relationships with each other and the world.

I'll be honest, I hate it when plots just decide to hit the big ol' "undo" button on plot and character development once it becomes inconvenient.

One of my biggest issues with comics as a whole, because they pull that shit all the time.

And with NWH done, that makes five characters hit with the "reset" stick since Endgame. And I don't like it.

On the one hand, you've got father's being praised for the tiniest bit of parenting, like they're somehow going "above and beyond."

On the other, you've got people treating fathers on their own with their kids like incompetent shits at best, and abusers/kidnappers at worst. Doubly so if it's a father with a daughter.

Correct, it's that we're not willingly putting other blood in our bodies.
Even if we kill and animal and bleed it, some blood still remains in the body. It's impossible to get it all out. This is apparently good enough for God, because that's all that God commanded us to do when it comes to animals. He didn't tell us to go to extreme lengths to squeeze out every last drop of blood before we could eat meat.

You've never actually asked this as a question before, just stated it as if it were a fact. But since you're asking now, I'd be happy to answer.

We don't, or at least, we're not supposed to. If we do, then that's wrong, and we would disavow those who did it.

Here's how we handle child sexual abuse:

https://www.jw.org/en/news/legal/legal-resources/information/packet-jw-scripturally-based-position-child-protection/
And yet in practice, the governing body has been going to battle in courts worldwide for years to defend their confirmed digital record of confessed child predators who are protected within the church under "two witness" doctrines.

There's the policy on paper, then the policy in practice
