Krojen 08/05/21 2:44:44 PM #86 | Clyburn has taken far more bribes from the private healthcare insurance industry than any of his peers, is still throwing a fit at Biden for not directing enough donors to his daughters super pac for an endorsement, and campaigns all over the country in D+infinity seats to make sure we get the most conservative person as possible there. But please dont be mean by refusing to kiss his feet :( Centrists fetish for civility sure is something. --- |

Krojen 08/05/21 1:47:49 PM #82 | The polling data says progressive policies are popular, specifically with voters, and by large margins. Florida voted for $15, Mississippi voted for legal med weed, etc then voted for Trump same day, who supports nothing, but the culture war they rock with. (But you think maga hats are scholars pouring over Trumps detailed policies) You have to ignore all data that clearly explains voter behavior and say its instead because voters are carefully weighing the details of each policy from the candidates as their decision maker. Even centrist strategists would laugh you out of the building with this theory. It's crazy how little difference there is arguing with centrists and Trump supporters, both make use of all the polling data is fake. There is no possible situation in which they could be wrong, they will simply deny reality instead. The general electorate doesnt care who Clyburn endorses. Endorsements decided the primary. Hes literally called the kingmaker. **The guy who got the most votes by increasing margins in the first 3 contests. I thought you only cared about votes. Thats why I included it as such. I guess you switch based on whatever you need to continue your beliefs. If you have to ignore all polling data to justify your narrative you should probably stop talking. --- |

Krojen 08/05/21 3:39:50 AM #66 | Broseph_Stalin posted... What part of Bernie getting dunked on by both Hillary and Biden don't you seem to understand?I understand that Dem primaries differ from general elections. Lower turnout, older, managerial class, more trusting of Dem establishment, MSNBC punditry that votes for whoever they hear can win, not who they prefer (perceived best chance to beat Trump consistently ranked higher than getting their preferred policy) If they drop to endorse the guy that won 3 straight by increasing margins, instead of the guy that needed those endorsements to save his 5th place campaign, itd be a different outcome. Dem voters were clearly moved by trust in endorsements and media, not policy. Thats how Bernie can poll more favorably than his opponent and lose a primary. Thats how his policy can poll so well and lose a primary. Thats how Nina can have a massive lead erased and lose the primary. To say otherwise forces you to go full maga and say lol polls I disagree with are fake to make sense of your worldview. Even after a year of bad faith attacks on med4all, no support from Dem leadership, it still polls extremely well, by big margins. Hard to lump that in with typical polls-are-useless memes. And someone who supports med4all does support universal healthcare. Saying otherwise is a lie about policy. --- |

Krojen 08/05/21 2:22:22 AM #63 | Broseph_Stalin posted... Hillary was the safest bet of the 2016 field, yes. Yet her favorability massively trailed an old man with bad hair, posture, and policies you say no one likes. Speaking of. Genuinely curious. The polls show med4all is very popular. The millions pouring into this race included attack ads and mailers lying that Turner doesnt support med4all. You know something the smart money doesnt? Why would they waste money telling voters she doesnt support a policy you think is actually extremely unpopular? --- |

Krojen 07/27/21 12:34:32 PM #15 | hyperpowder posted... Honestly toyota should be wanting this, it seems much easier to manufacture a Electric car.It requires these companies to completely rebuild from the ground up. Thats why they never made the transition and their only option now is to fight it. And why the new companies are eating their lunch. Easier to start from scratch. Transitioning to electric makes every factory they currently own worthless, have to change their entire supply chain and workforce. Eliminate every car dealership since they subsist on maintenance that EVs dont need. --- |

Krojen 07/23/21 3:41:38 PM #28 | Paragon21XX posted... Or maybe, just maybe it's because we lacked the physical advantages those animals have so we needed to become more intelligent to survive and even thrive in spite of our disadvantages.Right, now youre gettin it. We didnt need more protein to facilitate our expanding powerful gator jaws. Thats not our evolutionary path. We needed access to larger consistent pools of glucose to facilitate our expanding, expensive, glucose burning brains. Starch, cooking/processing food evolved us into what we are today. It wasnt the old monkey discovers meat pop culture meme. --- |

I mean there's also the fact that the only reason humans evolved to have brains as big as we do is because of eating meat.True, thats why snakes and gators have the biggest brains and the mostly vegan apes were related to arent as smart as these reptiles. Or it was the discovery of starch and fire that allowed for a more steady supply of glucose, the fuel our brain uses. --- |

So buying power is made or lost without selling. At the Bezos scale the numbers on screen primarily function as power/influence tho, not gold coin pools. But this is one of the reasons they prefer certain tax advantaged stock compensation packages over raw $$$. Topic | Wealth shown to scale. |
Krojen 07/11/21 1:26:50 PM #69 | Squall28 posted... The amount of wealth in the world keeps growing, and Bezos wealth is based on a valuation of something he owns. It's like if someone offers you a million dollars to buy your house. You don't actually have a million dollars in cash from that, but you'll be counted as a millionaire. As the value of your assets go up, you can borrow more against them without liquidating. So you can access this increasing amount of buying power and pay crumbs on interest instead of massive amounts of taxes. This is a really basic thing and what people of any sort of wealth do. Had you bought Tesla stock years ago instead of laughing at me for doing so, youd have had a couple bucks to rub together and know this by now. --- |
