Today is exactly one year from the market bottom last year. Gamestonk, seeing the recent decline in travel stocks, I am thinking that maybe there were a lot of people who bought in March last year and were waiting for the one year mark to sell.

I saw some game in the eshop not long ago, that I think was an FPS, but the gimmick was that everyone was invisible, and the entire point of the game was to screenwatch your opponent to figure out where they were. Probably cooler in concept than how it plays out I'm sure.

I think I'm largely fine with most of the nominations this year? Another Round getting a best picture nomination would have been nice, but this is a surprisingly strong set considering the year. First Cow probably deserved some attention but it's also a film I wouldn't expect to be there (and I still need to see it).

The only huge and unexpected snub to me is Dick Johnson Is Dead in the documentary category. An absolutely stunning film, but as always, the people deciding that category have gone out of their way to exclude what should have been the obvious frontrunner. This happened the last two years as well with the Apollo and Mr. Rogers docs.

Filming in 4:3 to begin with was stupid. Christopher Nolan has some similarly asinine ideas.

This finals tells me that the stuffer is a slightly overweight COVID-era stock buyer who considers themselves an expert now.

Airlines creeping up to pre-covid levels as though the year of huge losses can just be ignored and like we'll just go up to 2020 levels as though airline revenues will instantly be back to normal is more irrational than the tech surge ever was

And I really enjoyed the Superman portions of BvS. It was a pretty great retelling of Death of Superman, with just the worst batman shit ever tacked on.

Watchmen is / was pretty divisive. If you fall on the watchmen is bad side, Snyder maybe hasnt made a good movie in fifteen years. And two of his movies in that time were straight up trash.

I dont think theres any retroactive anything going on, the guy just peaked early and has kind of sucked since then. The existence of such diehard fanboys for him is so confusing to me.

(I liked Watchmen at the time, havent seen it since release though)

Is DKCR the game where to gain momentum from jumping on an enemy, you have to tap jump rather than hold it down? I could not get used to that and dropped the game after just a few levels.

DKCR controls great with the obvious exception of the motion controls. You mentioned modding, are you perhaps emulating on a PC that can't handle it? There really shouldn't be a delay.

The Earthbound and Majora's Mask videos are some of the last videos that were written and edited by James himself. After that the Screenwave guys mostly took over so James could pursue his other projects and his only actual involvement in the show is acting out the scripts they do.
