I would have said Destruction All-Stars but they put the game on PS+ to avoid that. I think Returnal is set to flop though.

Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo will probably flop. I'm sure the games will be good but these sorts of games just tend to flop now.

Balan Wonderland will be both a critical and sales flop. Probably Biomutant too.

Then we've got the games that have such little buzz you probably won't even know what they are when I list them
Hood: Outlaws & Legends (when was the last Robin Hood related thing to even succeed?)

Probably will and we don't know it yet. God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Yakuza LAD and Control all received PS5 patch updates without that much high profile attention as well.

Control Ultimate Edition is considered a separate version than the original PS4 release. They did give it out for free on PS+ though.

It's pretty obvious that networks are going to continue to use nerd franchises to try and draw in the younger generations that have disconnected from cable. Netflix got the witcher, Amazon gets lord of the rings, one of those other networks got star trek, and now this weird new one gets Halo.

Disney with Star Wars and Marvel too. Probably not the worst tactic. But video game adaptations tend to suck.

The gameplay is also a rogue-like. So the trailer is also showing off some of the different biomes. I guess when you reach a new one you progress the plot.

Most, if not all, of his targets are dangerous criminals, high ranking military personnel or people who secretly run shady shit. Not just random dudes. Hell he infiltrated the White House to kill the Vice President at one point.

Basically 47 is most vulnerable when an ICA client is setting him up to be killed. It has happened a few times. They've even set fellow clone assassins on him. They generally end up dead.

The closest was a guy who shot Agent 47 after hiring him for the opera assassination. Agent 47 killed him later that day.

It's 47. Snake constantly gets into fights and people like Revolver Ocelot manage to escape. If 47 knows where you are you're gonna be dead by the end of the day.

I think the only logic any of these styles of games use is literally trying to get people who primarily play single player shooters into multiplayer modes which gives more opportunities to get people to buy DLC and microtransactions. It's why they always say "But you can play it solo!" even though the single player is nowhere near as good as a dedicated single player campaign and then they get shocked when their userbase drastically declines after launch.

Often it goes the other way where the multiplayer is also compromised to account for the story mode. So you've got the the weaknesses of both sides with not much benefit.

The hilarious thing is over time we've still got COD chugging away with their single player and multiplayer suites and it's still dominating. Many developers wasted a generation chasing this.

Yep. I don't own it but I actually have a funny story about this one. I used to often rent games back then with a friend on the weekend. On our walking route there was a magpie who liked to swoop at people.

We rented this Duke Nukem game on PS1 with him holding the gun.



We heard a tip that magpies won't swoop if they think they have eyes on them. Bike riders would put googly eyes on the back of their helmet for example. So we decided to point this cover of Duke Nukem at the magpie to get it to leave us alone. It worked!
