Are you just completely ignorant to everything police do? It's pretty simple.

"Hello I'm Officer Hank and we got a report about someone driving recklessly and we wanted to ask you some questions. What's your name? Do you live here? Is this your vehicle? Where are you coming from? Did you drive straight home from there or did you take any detours? Have you had any alcohol or marijuana today? Would you mind taking a sobriety test? Is there a number we can reach you at if we have any additional questions?"

Then cross-reference security or traffic cameras if you want to get real ambitious.

In other words, harassing a man on his own property for no reason as that would not prove a crime.
So why are these questions important enough to break the law and take a dump on a man's property rights?

This did not happen because clearly he was home and out of the vehicle before the officer came. Ie, they saw nothing.

Oh so they weren't going to investigate at all?
They just believe a phone call and throw the man straight to jail?

Honest question. Wouldnt the virus continue to mutate in countries without good access to the vaccine like us? I know we can do better but isnt the evolution of Covid inevitable at this point?

I have already been fully vaccinated.

The vaccine is actually what causes it to mutate to be vaccine resistant.

It might mutate in a place where they are not vaccinated, but it would not be vaccine resistant from that.

@metallica846

Basically, antibiotic resistant bacteria need exposure to antibiotics to gain said resitance.

Fully vaccinated people foregoing mask protection will hasten this form of mutation as breakthrough cases rise.

Some interesting comments:

Except this doesn't have to be a flu situation. We don't have "yearly measles" or "yearly chickenpox" because we snuffed those diseases out.
People and governments just need to sack up, punish non-compliers, and mandate vaccines. That's the only way out.

Except the vaccines do not function like chickenpox or measles vaccines, which actually do stop symptoms and transmission. Nobody is snuffing Covid out with vaccines that still allow for infection and transmission. Even the article referenced in this very thread is making this clear, hence the suggestion of still wearing masks.
We need to stop a "Mereks Disease" like situation happening where vaccinated people produce more severe strains due to the vaccines successfully stopping severe illness but not stopping infection or spread.

I learned a new term. "Leaky Vaccine"

https://www.healthline.com/health-news/leaky-vaccines-can-produce-stronger-versions-of-viruses-072715

Idk about calling this vaccine leaky but it seems some redditors think if vaccinated people can infect others it is.
Which wasn't the case until delta.

And delta came because India couldn't actually vaccinate their population.
This is just bad all around.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-95025-3

Vaccines are thought to be the best available solution for controlling the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. However, the emergence of vaccine-resistant strains may come too rapidly for current vaccine developments to alleviate the health, economic and social consequences of the pandemic.
To quantify and characterize the risk of such a scenario, we created a SIR-derived model with initial stochastic dynamics of the vaccine-resistant strain to study the probability of its emergence and establishment. Using parameters realistically resembling SARS-CoV-2 transmission, we model a wave-like pattern of the pandemic and consider the impact of the rate of vaccination and the strength of non-pharmaceutical intervention measures on the probability of emergence of a resistant strain. As expected, we found that a fast rate of vaccination decreases the probability of emergence of a resistant strain.
Counterintuitively, when a relaxation of non-pharmaceutical interventions happened at a time when most individuals of the population have already been vaccinated the probability of emergence of a resistant strain was greatly increased. Consequently, we show that a period of transmission reduction close to the end of the vaccination campaign can substantially reduce the probability of resistant strain establishment. Our results suggest that policymakers and individuals should consider maintaining non-pharmaceutical interventions and transmission-reducing behaviours throughout the entire vaccination period.

Read that again:

Counterintuitively, when a relaxation of non-pharmaceutical interventions happened at a time when most individuals of the population have already been vaccinated the probability of emergence of a resistant strain was greatly increased.

Basically vaccinated people getting infected is kinda not a good thing. Mask up.
