No it isn't, it's a realistic way of looking at the world.

Is that same "realism" ever applied to discussions about DLC or the price of games? Consumers aren't obligated to side with the business case for why X or Y happens. We can operate on a different logic.

Maybe, but you have to have basic definitions to be able to define what your personal political ideology is.

But those definitions aren't inherently morally neutral. If you can define conservatism, we can say what impacts those views have in the world. The existence of a spectrum does not imply that truth lies in the middle.

This is a false equivalence that I'm sure you are well aware of.

I'm not looking to equate conservatism with fascism. I'm asking: if we can understand what fascism as an ideology means, why are you treating conservatism as something undefinable, as though you can't make generalizations about it?

Replace fascism with monarchism or socialism or anarchism if that makes the subject easier.

Edit: Conservatism (lower case c) is not a specific political ideology any more than authoritarian, libertarian (lower-case l) progressive (lower case p), liberal (lower case l) are.
