Also @UltimaterializerX they really didn't out maneuver Falcon that much. There were two spots where they utilized being skinnier than him but other than that he was on top of them the entire time, minus when the helicopters showed up.

not to mention that guy is Batroc who is pretty much the highest tier of goon in the MCU

he held his own against Captain America hand to hand for a solid minute and a half of a film!

Red Dragon is alright, but I would take the '86 Manhunter over it in a heartbeat because that film is bizarre. Red Dragon is just an excuse to make another Lecter film with Norton who was pretty much at the peak of his powers, only a few years removed from Primal Fear, American History X, and Fight Club.

What the fuck how do you make a Justice League movie rated R? How do you block Superman behind an R rating? I was so sure this was going to be PG-13 still and told my buddy it absolutely is not rated R after he mentioned it.

I'm floored, and I'm sure this is old news, but wow.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 1 is up.

It really bothers me that Sam doesn't wear a helmet or any kind of thing to protect his head. Like a dozen guys fire guns at him during that opening action scene and it's like, "Well it's a good thing they always aim at the parts of his body he can cover easily". Actually, he probably should wear on in general zooming around all over the place like that.

I REALLY disliked the shaky cam on the flying scenes. I get they're trying to make it look more realistic, but it kind of has the opposite effect. It's so distracting.

I was not expecting Rhodey to appear. Was that listed in the cast beforehand? Must have missed it.

I had been wondering if Bucky had anything to do with that old man's son dying, and when they showed his picture that definitely was a "Oh shit" moment.

Just finished

The opening action scene was my least favorite part of the episode and it's weird to go on reddit and seeing some of the top posts be people praising it and comparing it to MCU films. The shaky cam was clearly to hide the budget and the less than stellar cgi. It wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't have the production value of the films, or even the end of Wandavision. The Bucky fight at least was really good but that's obviously because it was very practical and not green screen/cgi.

Bucky obviously killed his son as soon as the old man mentioned it in the restaurant >_>

The actor who plays the soldier helping Falcon is not great at acting.

I know I'm picking nits but I really enjoyed it! I was hype for some ridiculous over the top action but I found the character stuff to be by far the best parts. Bucky on a date and dealing with his past/Falcon dealing with being gone from his family for so long that they're in financial ruin was really compelling.

Zack Snyder literally has directed one original concept, which was Sucker Punch. Everything else he has made was based on an existing I.P.

Right, but I think comparing something like Watchmen where he tried to go shot for shot at times to the graphic novel vs his takes on Superman/Batman is pedantic :/

The Snyder hate is definitely retroactively filling some kind of narrative. People loved Dawn of the Dead, 300 was a phenomenon, and I distinctly remember Watchmen being beloved at release. His style just became kind of stale.

I distinctly remember walking out of the theater after 300 and thinking "that was alright". Which is crazy because I was the perfect person to enjoy it being a 16 or 17 year old guy who loves action and violence. The visuals just took me out of it. My favorite part is the fight against the Immortals(?) which happens to be one of the few times he didn't use a ton of slo-mo and exaggerated effects.

Watchmen is fine and Dawn of the Dead is really good. Everything else he's done I've kind of hated

Then you have some people who are just so set in their hatred of Snyder they declare things like this and are rooting for it to fail without even seeing it. How is that any better than the fanboys?

I'm not 'rooting' for anything, but I think it will fail because I think everything Snyder has done is mediocre to bad, and his handling of the DCEU has set them very far back. I don't care about Marvel vs DC, I'm no comic book fan, will never be, and have no horse in this race. I just want better films and the fact that four years of yelling for someone who has consistently shown to not understand filmmaking has led to a four hour vanity project is upsetting. Glad he's getting his vision made, sure, but his vision across all his films is something I don't think should be getting made.

I've found the Marvel Netflix stuff to be both not great shows as well as not that entertaining. Never bothered past the first half of the first season of Agents of Shield, but that's more of a "I've outgrown that model of television" where it's these super long seasons with tons of filler made to pad out a major networks primetime slot for as long as possible.

I've also really decided to temper my expectations for what or who might be in it. I'm not watching any follow up videos or speculation videos because I honestly felt like they ended up hindering my enjoyment of WandaVision.

yeah that's a problem a lot of people seemed to have

I said it all throughout the Wandavision topic, trying to squash some expectations, but people don't seem to realize that Marvel is doing everything in their power to appeal to the masses. That's not a negative thing btw - I actually believe it's part of what makes their universe so great. They've really mastered the art of making really fun popcorn flicks while having just barely enough to let the more dialed in fans sink their teeth into it... but at the end of the day, the villain is going to be the obvious villain, no one who is dead will actually stay dead (except for someone like RDJ unless he wants to cash in on a paycheck later in life), etc.

The wandavision speculation got so out of control for a second there if you went to any marvel forum or topic as people started crazy speculation to tie it into the comics and the multiverse and who the actual villain was, etc. No. Stop. These are meant to be easily digestible money makers >_>

that's why I'm actually really excited for Falcon and Winter Soldier because if they just deliver on Winter Soldier punching people through walls while saying one liners to Falcon, what more can I ask for

As someone who also played P5R first before playing P4G, it really did seem inferior in almost every way but I enjoyed it as a whole. If you're not feeling it I wouldn't worry that much. I did end up mashing through a lot of the unnecessary stuff towards the end of my playthrough because I just wanted to play through the dungeons and finish the story - the characters and their interactions didn't grip me like P5R did.

either way these games got me interested in jRPGs again after not touching them for a decade. even made me play Yakuza: Like A Dragon which I think is something I would have completely skipped just because of the combat system

Of course I am, she's my baby. I'm going to try my best to keep her more stimulated because I think that's part of what it was. I live alone and she's my only pet so when I come back after work she can sometimes be in hunt mode and if I'm the only movement she sees she takes it out on me.

95% of the time she's as cute and sweet as can be - she's not stressed or anything like that. She's just good once every two or three months to attack me. She doesn't hiss at me, doesn't fight over food, doesn't hate being touched, etc. She just goes from zero to a hundred within a few seconds

But absolutely, cat mouths are major reservoirs for bacteria and I've known of people who have lost fingers to infections from cat bites.

Thanks.

Yeah, I've heard those stories before but put me in the category of stupid impervious "I'm healthy and have never had anything happen to me before!". I've owned pets all my life and can't even count the amount of times I've had some slight open wound from an animal that heals on it's own perfectly. This was nothing different from all those experiences at the time, and the initial swelling looked exactly like any other cut or wound I've had before. It was very scary to see how quickly it spread from the wound to take over almost my entire arm.

blogfaqs but just needing to post some stuff and I think it's important to know, because I sure didn't

So on Wednesday of last week I was bit by my cat. I've had her for over eight years and it's just something that happens because she's a cat and she gets riled up over nothing. She's scratched and bit me in the past but it's normally just something that heals on its own and leaves me with a scar for awhile. The first 24 hours were normal, but after that, my entire forearm where she got me proceeded to swell, become inflamed, and got to the point where it traveled to my wrist and I couldn't even make a fist without almost doubling over in pain. I went to urgent care where they told me it was cellulitis and if I didn't go to the emergency room they feared it would ruin my tendons to the point where I might never regain full function in my hand. Cut to less than 6 hours later and half my hand and my entire arm up to almost my armpit was swollen and on fire.

Cellulitis is where bacteria enters the deep tissue of your body and creates an incredibly fast moving infection that spreads across your body. Worst case scenario is sepsis, which is where bacteria enters your bloodstream and your body has a reaction to 'fix' the infection that ends up damaging your organs with the potential of going into shock, or even death. I was hooked up to IVs pumping antibiotics into my body for almost 72 hours, with constant blood tests and vital tests to make sure that this was not occurring. Thankfully it's something easily curable if you catch it early enough, and I've been home for about a day and a half with the infection slowly curing.

This is not meant to be a woe is me type post - this is a "I had no idea that not treating a wound as seriously as possible could lead to this" type post. I know most people here have pets and I just want this to be a warning that it doesn't matter how many times your pet might nip you as you take their food away, or play with them, or whatever. Take it seriously because I learned the very hard way just how quickly and awful things can turn even if you're completely healthy with no history of something like this

I dunno. It's been a weird few days.
