Melkor is outside Arda atm, but Sauron is basically manteling him. He might not be taking orders from Melkor directly, but he is still acting in a role that is broadly due to Melkor's original discord. Which are great reasons but for large scale colonializarion, there will need to be an economic purpose. Unless we are somehow post scarcity. For some reason I remember something about people trying to land a dodo on them. Maybe it was because they are solid objects that move on their own? My 3 copy is at my parents house so I can't even get on and check. I was obsessed with landing a tank on top the love building. Never managed it. Got a tank high enough a few times and even touched down on the roof. Just never managed to land. I would take off from the big hill behind shore side vale. Highest point I ever landed a tank was on top the hospital or police station in shore side. I would just heavily question the cyclical or prediction power of the model. I would also question whether or not it travels -- meaning is it a universal theory of history or one that only holds serve in the US context. Universal-philosphies of history are often good at developing their narratives retroactively, tying events to explanations retroactively. Handpicking data to fit the model basically. Sometimes really good at criticism of the present too. Yet their predictive power always seems dubious, at least once you apply concrete time tables.
