We were both tripping out over it. We were all drinking that night and started calling each other "Trader Joe's" as the night went on because that was the name of the store we saw each other at. lol, y'all were trader joe's bros. I wonder if you'll run into him again. JigsawTDC posted... I'm an introvert so I don't do this much myself at all, but I worked at a grocery store and it's definitely perceived as a social environment by many. I've seen many random conversations just start up between strangers. It's easy when there's a product or item to use a conversation piece. Hell, my dad met my ex-step-mom in a grocery store. Usually I shop with my headphones on and use the self-checkout because I like to get in and get out. I wear headphones too but my hair is long at this point and I started wearing bone conduction headphones so you can't even see them. I generally prefer getting in an out too. And it is crazy how different people are, just can't imagine the social stuff people like. Also, as an introvert, have you felt like you've done better in quarantine? I've seen people talk about how introverts are thriving but I always considered myself to be one and I'm struggling a crap ton. --- Metroids Suck |

I haven't been outside in so long and haven't seen this since college. And what he said was interesting. GunslingerGunsl posted... I asked some random guy in a store if he knew where the soda was, once. It was half asking the question aloud to myself like wtf why can't I find it, and half asking him since he just so happened to be next to me. I sometimes have random conversations with strangers but most of the time it's because they talk to me first. Anyway, the guy I asked about the soda ended up walking into my friend's house whom I was visiting an hour later. It was a random coincidence that we were both going to the same place. Really weird. BUT I can't say for certain if he did and I never took action, or did and I declined, or whatever. I don't know. My old manager was about as thorough with matters as John Candy playing a detective, but I too am terrible at dotting my Ts and crossing my Is. So I can't sit here and say it is anybodies fault but my own. However, he should have kept on asking me every now and again about it, even if I declined it, because peoples situations change and your plans for the future may have changed. He may have asked me once, I said whatever I said. But he should have kept on asking me, or realizing what was going on. But without some audio of these conversations I can't say what I said back then. But what would be the point? My situation would still be the same. On the bright side you may get to move into a better full time position now that you've proven yourself for a longer period of time. --- Metroids Suck |
