The flipped map led to the Madagascar Plan. Paradis is literally Madagascar. Could've just had it not flipped I suppose but then people might claim it's Earth in the past/future.

I mean, you technically could claim that still. You figure if the poles flipped, which has happened in Earth's geological history, and society collapses, the people who rebuild make maps based on a compass that from our perspective points South. The end result would be... A flipped map.

That said, in this case, it's just laziness.

Yeah. Most underdeveloped countries have been given technological aid that's well ahead of where they are in other vital areas of development, like civic structures related to things like traffic management.

Now, to be fair to most of these countries, the US, Canada, and probably Europe weren't much better when we got the auto. The real difference is they were at the forefront of inventing it, whereas these countries started getting cars and money for them much more recently.

This isn't exclusive to China. India and South East Asia have it too, as does the Philippines, and South America. There are locations where the guide to crossing the street is to just hope people steer around you.

It depends. Some games have Steam Cloud Saves enabled by default, CKII comes to mind, other games are purely local.

Because they're not as bulletproof as you think

Yeah. Your average "bulletproof" vest is only really rated to stop most pistol rounds. Fired out of a pistol. That is to say, if I fire a 9mm out of a Glock 17 at a vest, the vest will stop it. If I take that same round, and load it into a Kel-Tec SUB-2000, which is a pistol caliber carbine, and fire it at the same vest, I'll most likely blow through it. The math basically works out to "longer barrel = more time for the hot gas to expand and push bullet = more energy". That's not getting into ACTUAL rifle rounds and rifles.

Really the only vests that will almost certainly work are too big and bulky to do much of... Anything practical in, if you aren't used to wearing them, for say, working in a combat zone. If you really want to go down this avenue, you're better off suggesting armoring the doors.
