Stir fries in general are pretty much just a matter of throwing whatever veggies and meat you have into a pan and going nuts, and bok choy is reasonably versatile and can pair with most common veggies. My typical sauce is soy sauce, honey, orange juice, ginger, rice vinegar (or sherry, if that's available), and garlic, but that's really a matter of taste.

If I have any intention of driving, I limit myself to a single drink that I finish at least an hour before I have to drive. If I'm going to be there for a while and will have a couple hours before driving, I might have a second, but that's the absolute most. If I have any intention of drinking beyond just having a beer/glass of wine with the meal, I don't drive.

I effectively mained CB in GU, though by the time I drifted away from the game I'd put a pretty solid amount of time into most weapons. It was a fun time, though the game did a terrible job of explaining how the whole phial thing worked starting out and I had to rely on online resources. But hey, that's MH.

Do you think we don't have hover-cars because our technology hasn't advanced enough? Because that's not remotely true. Tech-wise, we could absolutely have them, but because they provide very little benefit, introduce too many infrastructure and logistical challenges, and would be thoroughly impractical to operate due to the energy costs, there isn't enough demand to drive the necessary R&D.

Yes, technology is advancing, but it's not advancing nearly fast enough nor has society adapted to the point where you could expect that widescale of an implementation.

Technology is absolutely advancing fast enough. Society hasn't adapted to that point, no, but that's why people like Yang are pushing for policies that will help society adapt. If they don't, when that transition comes, people are going to suffer because corporations pushed forward before society was ready for it.

The fact of the matter is that corporations will replace people with robots as soon as it's cheaper to do so than to pay a person. This is not speculation. This is why Detroit is Detroit now. There are two options to prevent this unstoppable reality from ruining more lives than it already has:

• Pass laws, tariffs, and other such regulations to make it unattractive or outright illegal to replace human workers
• Pass laws to redistribute the profits from automated labour to sustain those laid off by it

The first option is generally very unattractive because it stifles innovation and ultimately keeps humanity from moving forward. Commercially, the US will be left in the dust if it refuses to let domestic companies automate labour, as countries that do move forward become more productive, more efficient, and produce better-quality products (not that any company with the option to leave would stay in the US as such restrictions grew tighter and tighter to fight advances in technology). The second option means billionaires become less billionaire-y, everyone's quality of life improves (or stays the same, in the case of said billionaires), and the country has an incentive to innovate and remain competitive.

Those are really the only two options. Refusing to choose just turns the whole country into Detroit. Humans will be commercially obsolete in the not-so-distant future, such that the only jobs they'll be doing are ones they choose to do for fun. You can either prepare for that, or you can try to pretend it's not coming.

In a world where robots handle everything to such an extent that money becomes meaningless, most CEO duties would actually disappear. Not much point in increasing a company's net worth to appease shareholders when companies, net worth, and shareholders no longer exist, after all.

We don't need robots to be able to do brain surgery we just need them to do shit like make food, mow a lawn etc...

Heck, they'll also be doing brain surgery within less than a century. There are people alive today that will see automation take over every job (or at least become able to, since those who stand to profit from automation aren't going to be too keen about letting robots take over their jobs, which will delay the actual implementation).

While true, the issue is definitely getting worse with how much more accessible game development is now and how easy it is to get a barely-functional asset flip into some storefront or other (mostly Steam, because quality control is for nerds). Those factors have also enabled the creation of some absolutely fantastic games, so I'm certainly not going to say that they're bad, but there's definitely a higher percentage of trash on the market now than in any prior decade of gaming.

Well, the thing is, some people have drawn the line at "not a single animal killed/hurt".

Realistically, the only way that's remotely possible is if you go full vegan and grow all of your own food indoors in a sealed environment that you've chased all the bugs out of, and even then using water to grow them will likely have involved killing some bug at some point. That's without considering the animals that end up indirectly dying due to habitat loss, even if you're taking up as little space as possible. Whether you're eating animals or not, animals will die in the process of making food. Nitpicking over using a tiny handful of stem cells to catalyze long-term meat production without having to kill animals (new stem cells would not be needed each time) is therefore terribly silly.

i can't think of any games, from any time period, that would make it onto a list like that because there is a extremely miniscule amount of games that exist that could even qualify.

the vast majority of games just simply aren't very good.

Axiomatically, there are exactly 100 games from that qualify for such a list, and significantly more than that if we take subjective interpretation into account instead of pretending there is some definitive, objective top 100 list. The existence of oceans of terrible games doesn't mean good games don't exist.

Minecraft's Early Access period (though not formally called that because this was before Early Access was a thing) started in 09, but its official release wasn't until 2011. There's some room to debate which decade it belongs in, as a result, but counting it as being only 10 years old isn't necessarily wrong.

In all seriousness, this is pretty clearly terrible, we've just hit a point where there isn't much more that can be said to actually discuss it than has already been said. It's really quite a damning commentary on the state of policing in the US that it's become so routine and banal that making jokes about it is all that's left, but it's where we are.

In truth, without actually looking up stats and just going based off of vague recollections of how it ranks up, I don't think the US is actually that bad compared to most of the developed world, and there's reason to believe that many of the countries that seem to be better than it are underreporting their numbers, but yeah. Being under the world average murder rate as a developed country is kind of like beating the average score on a grade 3 math test as an adult.

Two of my favourite games ever came out in that time frame (Xenoblade technically released in 2010 in Japan, but didn't make it to NA until 2012, and Factorio entered Early Access in 2016 and formally released last year).

I could maybe see the charges being reasonable, had the video store made ample efforts to contact her to retrieve the tape and if she'd actually been informed of the charges when they were laid. As it stands, though, this just got quietly put on her criminal record without her ever knowing or having a chance to defend herself or right the wrong, and if it can be proven that said record has actually had negative impacts on her over the years, I think suing whoever is responsible for failing to notify her for those damages would be completely reasonable.

I still have World on my backlog and there are RUMOURS (idk) of Rise coming to PC so... umm... Should I ignore World and jump on Rise now or should I pound out World waiting for PC Rise?

I still haven't played either, but my understanding is that Rise is pretty barebones now, content-wise, since it's being treated more or less like World and being supported with free updates for a while post-launch. As such, especially if you already own World, I'd say you'd be better off playing it than buying a game that still hasn't come into its own yet.

Of course, there's always the option of just playing GU instead, which has tons more content than either, but I'm guessing you've already gotten your fill of that one.

It pretty clearly fits within the realm of Felony Murder, which is often pretty questionable, but in this case, it makes plenty of sense because he deliberately engineered a situation in which the police felt they needed to shoot him.

Now, should they have felt that they needed to shoot somebody that had dropped their weapon? Most likely not, and charging the officer responsible would likely be reasonable. But charging the guy who framed the kid is definitely also reasonable.

What you described is second degree, not first.

There's a fair amount of grey area. In particular, given that the altercation had died down well before Chauvin stopped kneeling, it could very easily be argued that he made the decision to kill him rationally and deliberately (first-degree murder), rather than as an escalation of the fight (second-degree murder). Proving that, however, is another matter entirely, and failing to do so could have allowed him to go free, so second-degree was a much safer charge.

To be honest, hydropower seems like a bad path to go down. They actually don't generate that much power, and they do a decent amount of damage to the ecosystem.

Obviously if a damn is needed, hey hydropower is great to tack on. But I don't think it's great to go looking at places looking for more hydropower, it's not ideal.

To say nothing of the environmental impact of producing that much concrete. As far as renewable energy goes, hydroelectric is pretty bad.

MH doesn't have a jump button. More relevantly, why do the closest buttons need to be for attack? As I mentioned above, you generally aren't going to need to adjust your camera while hitting an attack button. If anything, it's going to be more common to need to move it while trying to find an opening to use an item.

Interesting concept, but I'm not sure how well it'd pan out in practice. I suspect the novelty will wear off relatively quickly, leaving a pretty straightforward rail shooter with good music and not much else. I could be wrong, though.

No he wasn't charged with that because it would have had to been proved it was premeditated. That would have been impossible. Especially because there was no evidence they knew each other regardless if they worked at the same place.

Pretty sure there was evidence that they knew each other, but yeah, proving murder 1 here would have been virtually impossible, such that charging him with it would just result in him going free. What's-his-douche is obviously a murderer, but I see no basis here to suspect that he planned it before the encounter started.

Sunlight, wind, and water don't involve physical resources being depleted.

Pedantically, repairs and maintenance on them will deplete non-renewable resources, but that is a pretty negligible effect (a lot of which can be negated by recycling the broken parts).

It's more or less what Canada's laws on the matter have ended up being. It's legal to sell, since laws to the contrary infringe on personal autonomy, but not legal to buy or to traffic. As silly as it seems, it's pretty much the only way to make prostitution illegal without having the government dictating what people are able to do with their own bodies (which, by extension, means that keeping prostitution illegal is silly).

I feel like a lot of people taking issue with this don't understand the difference between birth and labour. Birth is a difficult, active process, where failing to pay attention or provide support would indeed be pretty neglectful. Labour is sitting in a hospital for several hours in mild to moderate discomfort waiting for birth to happen. Support there mostly just entails keeping her from being bored out of her skull.

giving the dude 20+ years seems pretty harsh considering he was doing a job that did give him some expectation of being able to do what he did (even if he did it wrong and endangered George's life etc). That should "normally" be a mitigating factor, possibly dropping a murder conviction down to manslaughter etc.

Quite the contrary: Because police are working in a capacity that offers them the freedom to take lives as necessary, they should be held to a higher standard for not abusing that power and punished more severely if they do. That this murder was committed by a cop should be an exacerbating factor, not a mitigating one. He has a sworn responsibility to not abuse his power, and he violated that oath.
