Holo had been courting a western audience long before holo en came out. As a result, they had the clippers running a free ad campaign for them.

I think this is part of it, but there's also the part where nijisanji is just not as big as hololive now in general. and I don't mean in the eng audience specifically. maybe it's a result of having so many streamers under their label and less community feel? maybe it's advertising? maybe it's because everyone actually does like idols? (even the people who say they don't)

There was a group of 5 new nijisanji streamers with their debut at roughly the same time as hololive gen5, these are (I think?) nijisanji's newest streamers in the japanese branch. Can you name any of them? can you even picture what any of them look like? do you want to try guessing how many subs they have?

the answer is about 100k-150k, and then one of them is extra popular and has around 250k

(for what it's worth I can only name one of them and it's because I'm subbed to her lol)

there's like, a whole subset of vtubers that (I'm not sure this is the actual term but I've heard it enough to think it is) are called AVtubers. some of them stream on youtube and I'm not totally sure how they're still there lol. but I think they're mostly on literal porn sites

if you want to keep up with hololive (and keeping in mind that hololive itself is only a portion of the vtuber sphere) you basically have 3 options:

1) redefine keeping up with hololive as keeping up with like the 2-3 you like the most
2) hang around people who watch a big variety of them and get little news updates/summaries as they talk about what they're watching
3) be the weirdo who has like 6 streams open at once all the time (how do they even comprehend what's going on anymore?)

i don't hate the idea of dungeons, but i definitely hate that there are only three of them.

honestly I kinda like this part of it. the way you can just pick from a small selection of little bonus effects to tack onto your card instead of having this gigantic pool of abilities that could do all sorts of things. Keeps it cleaner feeling

Yes, it's harder to overturn youtube channel takedowns without company backing. And yes, the most notable ones tend to be part of a company. But I think that's mostly just because companies can provide advertising/publicity, support with things like tech / avatars / designs / etc, help push for tie-ins / collabs outside the company, and just generally assist in managing things

There's so many random small indie vtubers (or even just smallish companies) that aren't really well known because they don't have the instant publicity that comes from being attached to a big known brand name. Can't get big if you don't stand out somehow for people to find you in the first place

I'm not super great with python myself and I've mostly just learned from incrementally looking things up online so I can't really give specific book advice. just make sure you don't find something about python2

honestly, most of them their character voice is not too far off their actual voice. that said, considering all the attempts at impressions and acting out skits and etc that you see on stream here and there, I'm inclined to agree that most of them are not very good at voice acting

although if they're cameo-ing as... themselves?? I don't really see why voice acting would play into it in a big way

this doesn't necessarily mean you need to think of something grandiose or even something useful at all. You can make programs that do whatever you want and especially when you're leaning they'll probably do a lot of pretty pointless stuff

The point here is that you need to be able to concretely formulate your goal. "I want a program that loads a paragraph and replaces every word in it with the word that comes after it in the dictionary" is a program you can actually make. "I want a program that does something to a paragraph of words" isn't really because it's poorly defined, you won't even know what you're trying to do, and when you do it you won't even know if you're done or not since you don't know what the goal was

I've seen these little thin boot sorts of things for dogs before, occasionally you see people walking their dogs in the winter and the dogs are wearing them and I think it's to prevent getting scratches or irritation or etc from all the salt they put down to melt ice on roads

I think there's a pretty big difference between having your data recorded, stored, and used by the company of the thing that's doing the recording, and having it sold to some unrelated 3rd party to do unrelated stuff with

realistically, if you're leaving this up to a poll, you're probably just gonna do whichever one gets picked for a week or so and then forget about it forever

instead I'd suggest trying to think of what you'll be able to do with each one (talk to people? read books? watch movies? travel there? get a penpal across the world? etc) and decide which one sounds most interesting/applicable from there

Other than that, tbh most girls kinda do a cover or a compilation song every once in a while and that's about it.

I think there's efinitely more than just that. like, there's that new literal idol group of subaru/aqua/nene who are singing an anime OP this coming season and it seems like they're constantly recording stuff, they've basically all significantly dropped in stream amount recently because they're too busy / too tired from all the dance lessons and recordings and stuff

I'm sorta the opposite? first person puzzle games tend to be a bit slower/laidback with motions so it doesn't bug me. But play a game with one or more of constant movement, quick turning, sudden starts/stops, lots of jumping... basically all things I tend to associate with the faster FPS games, and I can't handle it for too long
